Ancient Aboriginal stories preserve history of a rise in sea level

This Scientific Research SHOULD raise a few Eyelid's. 

Why?

It should raise eyelid's because serious PHD sort's have found that Aboriginal Folke Lore story's were pretty dang well true.

In the beginning, as far back as we remember, our home islands were not islands at all as they are today. They were part of a peninsula that jutted out from the mainland and we roamed freely throughout the land without having to get in a boat like we do today. Then Garnguur, the seagull woman, took her raft and dragged it back and forth across the neck of the peninsula letting the sea pour in and making our homes into islands.

Ancient stories

How sea levels changed after the ice ages around Australia is now well known. So if these stories are accepted as authentic and based on observations of coastal flooding, it is clear that they must be of extraordinary antiquity.

The historical record shows when parts of the Australian coast flooded.

How do we know that these stories are authentic? We suggest that because they all say essentially the same thing, it is more likely that they are based on observation. All tell of the ocean rising over areas that had previously been dry. None tell stories running the other way – of seas falling to expose land.

The huge distances separating the places from which the stories were collected – as well as their unique, local contexts – makes it unlikely that they derived from a common source that was invented.

So what is so cool about this recent presentation ?  Through Science and also Folklore both party's have found no-one is bull crapping... Aboriginal Folklore told a "true rendition" of what science is finding:P

What's even more cool... All those story's that were told of odd beast's are more than likely true.. and at least should be given more credit by the skepticks

Is Australia unique?

The rise of sea level since the last ice age from 120 metres below present occurred not just around Australia but around the world, inundating significant parts of all continents.

We might expect to find comparable collections of sea-level rise stories from all parts of the globe, but we do not. Perhaps they exist, but have been dismissed on account of an improbable antiquity by scholars adhering to the more orthodox view that oral traditions rarely survive more than a millennium.

Another possibility is that Australia is genuinely unique in having such a canon of stories. That invites questions about why and how Australian Aboriginal cultures may have achieved transmission of information about real events from such deep time.

The isolation of Australia is likely to be part of the answer. But it could also be due to the practice and nature of contemporary Aboriginal storytelling. This is characterised by a conservative and explicit approach to "the law", value given to preserving information, and kin-based systems for tracking knowledge accuracy.

This could have built the inter-generational scaffolding needed to transmit stories over vast periods, possibly making these stories unique in the world.

It reminds a lot of how there is a tribe here in Australia that share a story in regards to their ancestor's coming from a hole in the ground.  I've seen the exact same story in a museum in Taiwan where the local Aboriginal tribe  describe their ancestor's coming from a hole in ground.

For the Taiwan Reference in a "Local Musuem" I would really need to rack my brain and find out where I kept my pic's of the storyboard. 

Although i first heard of such oddity's on odd website's// it was the Taiwan Museum where I first heard a history of "Ancestor's coming from a hole in the ground".  A few year's down the track I watched the Aussie ABC series's I posted above and was dumbfounded to see that there is a story almost exactly the same in Oz 

PS and gawd I must be maturing to some extent... Dave Wilcock would usually get me ranting to some extent...

Years ago I found data on the campfires of Abo's  At that time it was said that some of those pits were so old that they showed the pole reversal in the ashes

I find this image interesting as it date's back a lot longer in time compared to our modern preconception of a couple of thousand years.  I must say though that adding another 10 thousand years is really nothing in the grand scheme of things

Geological evidence shows that landlocked Colorado was once seafloor.   The Great Salt Lake and Bonneville Salt Flats are the remains of a sea.  The San Luis Valley,  which is a place of power and UFO activity spot, is an ancient lake bed.   Visiting the valley is like driving into another era.  It still has much if it's history and culture intact.

Perhaps these events are Cyclic, in that the seas change their Location, from above the earths crust, to under it and back again in cyclic fashion.

According to biblical writings, re. Noah the fountains of the deep were opened. (Oceanic Ridges)
So perhaps the Rain came from the Sky after the water exploded from the fountains of the deep, into the upper atmosphere ? ? ?

Then some thousand years later, the seas go back under the crust gain, via the oceanic trenches.

That is if we take all the writings into account.

And the whole thermal cycle repeats itself again.   

You will find the same Phenomena on Mars, and other planets including some moons.

How do we know whether or not pole changes have maybe been the cause for sea level changes recorded in geologic history? There is so much natural fact of water having covered areas of this Earth which is now dry land.

When I was a young kid, the city where I lived constructed an additional water reservoir. It was close enough that I could ride my bike to it, and fish, or just play around. Well, the entire inside bank dams of this lake were lined with some type of large rocks. I sent a lot of time on and around these rocks, and pretty quickly I found that these rocks came from some place that had been under water, and probably sea water - because there were lots of sea shells and shark's teeth to be "picked" from the rocks....

So, while the ancient stories are interesting, there is real life evidence today, probably over most of the Earth.

it seems possible that is mankind around the world fled to the underground both in caves and by building cities, that when it came time that they could come back out, some may have chosen to stay.

It would be the people who had no experience of living above and maybe those people would have continued to evolve into  forms more comfortable to the underground.

This would account for many legends and myths and stories that seem to have grains of truth.

I reada school teachers story of being given a special tour in some caves, at some point in an inner cave where the guide took her and it was normally off limits, a creature came from a hole, humanoid/molish creature that terrified them so much they screamed but the creature also terrified ran also. It was a very believable account.

The Earths Crust, also changes in Contour, at a very slow rate, so areas of water respond accordingly.

Some areas the Land is being forced upward, where other areas are sinking.
