Nostalgia is out there: Fox announced on Tuesday that "The X-Files" will return to the network more than 13 years after the series ended its cult run. Original series creator Chris Carter will shepherd the special six-episode "event series" to air with stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson reprising their respective roles as Agent Fox Mulder and Agent Dana Scully.

"I think of it as a 13-year commercial break," Carter said in a statement. "The good news is the world has only gotten that much stranger, a perfect time to tell these six stories."

"The X-Files" premiered in 1993 and ran for nine seasons. It also spawned two feature films, including 2008's "The X-Files: I Want To Believe."

"We had the privilege of working with Chris on all nine seasons of 'The X-Files' -- one of the most rewarding creative experiences of our careers -- and we couldn't be more excited to explore that incredible world with him again," Dana Walden and Gary Newman, chairmen and CEOs of Fox Television Group, said in a statement. "'The X-Files' was not only a seminal show for both the studio and the network, it was a worldwide phenomenon that shaped pop culture -- yet remained a true gem for the legions of fans who embraced it from the beginning. Few shows on television have drawn such dedicated fans as 'The X-Files' and we're ecstatic to give them the next thrilling chapter of Mulder and Scully they've been waiting for."

Production on the return of "The X-Files" is set to begin this summer. No air date has been set.

It's news because it's in the news.

Never watched it, and I'm not interested in watching this reincarnation.  :)

Hope they do a better job than V (even if this is not a remake)

Another excellent analysis of something You have not seen nor experienced.

At least, some of the have a few seconds of viewing, before trashing them.    ;D

Just saying.   ;)

Just why are You not interested?

IMHO, the show opened many doors of perception to the 'average citizen'.

But what do we know, being stupid primate Americans... :P

Probably because I have seen the original when I was 9-10 years, it has impressed me a lot. The new one had so much drama i could not stand.

I will never forget this episode and the day it was aired lol

Yes that is an odd reaction for an ATS UFO Expert :P

IMHO, the show opened many doors of perception to the 'average citizen'.

Answer is simple.

ArMaP is a skeptic... if he were to watch things that might "open many doors of perception" he might lose his safe haven :D Yet his being here and at ATS means his subconscious is trying to get through to him :D

Yeah I know ArMaP will debate that assessment but WE know :P

Understandable... Seen as I never got past season one, couldd you fill in blanks about what I missed?

I believe in the elites version of lesser magick, and wish to know what they externalised.

It wasn't an analysis, it was a comment, my analysis have at least 3 lines. ;D

Different things get different reactions. Videos are usually ignored, specially if more than 2 or 3 minutes long, as my experience tells me they are mostly a waste of time.

QuoteJust why are You not interested?
In the last 25 years I have followed very few TV shows, and the ones I did follow were mostly the ones that were on TV while I was eating, the only time I watch TV.

US TV shows in the last 20+ years are even worse than they were 30 years ago, and they weren't good then.

I watched the original back in the 80s, but I remember almost nothing about it, so I wasn't impressed. :)

Why? Do construction experts watch "Bob the builder"?

QuoteAnswer is simple.
Your answer may be simple, but it may also be wrong. :)

A sceptic doesn't have a "safe haven", and I am more aware of my subconscious than most non-sceptics. :)

QuoteThe original NBC narrated recap that aired before part two of "V: The Original Miniseries". It has been remastered and is now in widescreen like the DVDs. This originally aired on May 2, 1983.

The story was pretty much an alegory about the nazism.

QuoteThe story remains a Nazi allegory, including the Swastika-like emblem used by the Visitors and their SS-like uniforms. There is a Visitor youth auxiliary with obvious similarities to the Hitler Youth and Visitor broadcasts mimic Nazi-era propaganda. The show's portrayal of human interaction with the Visitors bears a striking resemblance to stories from Occupied Europe during the Second World War with some citizens choosing collaboration and others choosing to join underground resistance movements.

To bring the story into nowadays, I will let this interesting comment from one of youtube video user:

Charismatic leaders, official MSM creating perception, false flag attacks, a "terror threat" so that we willingly give up our civil liberties progressively. It all rings a bell!

This one shows  a bit further in the story and their intent of take the planet's water and use people as food(:o). You will see even the born of a hybrid child.

Probably movies about WWII, would impress you even less. :D

For a 10ys old I remember that was really freaky. Especially because it was aired after the event to which I (and many of the city where he lived as a child) witnessed and that certainly led me to seek more information about aliens.

Knowing that this event is idiosyncratic, and relates only to me, I will not judge you for what you believe or think you know, and it would be silly to someone try judge onto something that one has never observed. ;)

That said, yes i REALLY enjoyed that show :P
