I understand common sentences, sentences like the one you wrote appear, to me, to have a strange structure that I do not understand.

A man who was found dead in a vehicle in a Pacific Palisades neighborhood last week and linked to a home where police discovered a massive cache of firearms appears to have been a 60-year-old longtime Los Angeles County gun collector, police and others said Wednesday.

An attorney representing the dead man's fiancée identified him as Jeffrey Alan Lash. Several law enforcement sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity because an LAPD investigation into the death is ongoing, said detectives believe the dead man was Lash but have not made a conclusive identification.

Shirley Anderson, the longtime partner of Lash's late father, said she hadn't seen Lash since 2010 but received a call last week from the L.A. County coroner's office.

A coroner's official, she said, told her that authorities had just found a man's body inside an abandoned vehicle on Palisades Drive, and that they believed the man was Lash. Anderson said Lash had not provided her with an address or phone number for years.

"We never knew where he lived," she said

Coroner Chief Craig Harvey said his office had been in contact with a distant family member of the dead man and was "working with that name [Lash] as a possibility." A formal identification has yet to be made of the body, which was badly decomposed.

After discovering the man's body on Friday, Los Angeles police investigators found more than 1,200 firearms and about two tons of ammunition inside his fiancée's Pacific Palisades home.

LAPD Capt. William Hayes, who heads the department's Robbery-Homicide Division, said the private gun collection was worth at least $500,000 and possibly more than $1 million

"He was either into doomsday survivalism, gun collecting or both," Hayes said, adding that the man appeared to be wealthy.

LAPD Deputy Chief Kirk Albanese said the man was a collector and there was no evidence he ever sold weapons or was a licensed firearms dealer.

Several people who live in the area where the body was found said the man was known only as "Bob" in the neighborhood and described him as a gun fanatic who claimed to have worked covertly for the government. Police have said the man did not do such work for the government.

His fiancée's attorney, Harland Braun, previously said the man died in the parking lot of Bristol Farms on Wilshire Boulevard in Santa Monica on July 4. His fiancée, the lawyer said, wasn't sure what to do with the body and left it in a vehicle on Palisades Drive while she headed to Oregon. Braun said his client believed that a government agency that the man had claimed to work for would come to collect him.

Anderson said she was stunned to learn of Lash's death.

Born in the mid-1950s, Lash grew up in a modest Westchester neighborhood, she said. His mother was a pianist and his father was a microbiologist who owned a medical laboratory, said Anderson, who said she had known Lash for at least 25 years.


For a while it appeared that Lash would follow in his father's footsteps. In the 1980s, he told his parents he was attending UCLA and studying to become a scientist. But he dropped out and never returned, she said.

UCLA spokesman Ricardo Vasquez said Lash was a student at one point but said he could not release details about his enrollment because Lash had requested that his records remain private.

Anderson, 93, said she knew little about what Lash did after he left UCLA because his communication with the family was limited. He never told her what he did for a living or where his money came from, she said.

"He was just a loner, as far as we were concerned," she said. "He just became weird because he changed all of a sudden."

Anderson said Lash was sick and at one point sought holistic medicine for treatment. Police said he had late-stage cancer when he died.

Anderson said she never knew Lash was a gun collector, but she said he used to frequent gun shops.

"He was not very forthcoming about what he was doing," Anderson said. "He had to be doing something to collect all those guns."

With the Los Angeles Police Department planning to destroy 6.5 tons of ammo recovered, gun dealers are scrambling to save the more than 1,500 guns collected from a deceased California man.

Jeffrey Alan Lash, 60, died July 4 and told his fiancee a confusing tale of espionage that prompted her to leave his body inside one of his vehicles while she went out of town with friends. When she returned on July 17, he was still inside the SUV.

This prompted a call to authorities from her attorney, Harland Braun, which in turn led to a massive effort by police to impound Lash's personal collection of firearms – first estimated at 500 and then 1,200 – for safekeeping.

Now, as police have determined they have more than 1,500 guns and nearly seven tons of munitions on hand, Braun is fielding unsolicited calls from gun dealers looking to move in on the Pacific Palisades man's estate, as reported by the Los Angeles Times.

Braun cautions the guns aren't going anywhere soon, as the LAPD's Robbery Homicide Division is busy tracing the collection, worth as much as $1 million and including several high-end rifles and pistols, most still new.

As for the ammunition, Braun said police are likely to destroy it.

However, there may be even more firearms out there as Braun has his private investigator combing the area to locate storage lockers believed rented by Lash.

A mystery to even those closest to him, Lash told neighbors his name was Bob Smith and his fiancee and girlfriend of 17 years that he was a spy for the CIA and even a part-human, part-alien creature sent to earth to save humanity. Besides the guns and ammunition, police discovered $230,000 in cash as well as 14 cars left behind.

"It's worse than a 'Twilight Zone' movie, and we've lived through hell," said Laura VadBunker, an employee of Lash's fiancee who was with Lash when he died in a Bristol Farms parking lot in Santa Monica.

No one close to Lash could verify the source of his income other than his tales and the only photo in circulation is a copy of a driver's license issued in 1996 distributed by his attorney Robert Rentzer, who represented him off and on for two decades.

Rentzer characterized the late gun collector as a private man, but dispelled reports that he was an alien hybrid or secret agent.

"A lot of people would call him odd because of his overwhelming desire for privacy," Rentzer told KTLA. "Some people considered him a little weird."

Further, his attorney said Lash was fastidious about his gun collection and, despite the quantities of ammunition that was on hand at his condo, rarely went shooting.

"I do not know that he ever, ever, ever fired any of his guns. Never," Rentzer said. "He took pride in how they were maintained."

While police do not suspect foul play in Lash's demise, the final cause of death has not been determined.

The following pics are of the same local but show the mapping of the location to the restaurant they all ate at. I was having some thoughts on that restaurants name Casa Nostra which eerily sounds like La Costra Nosa which we know as the underworld.

I haven't figured out where the SUV with the body was parked yet. But if it was a block away, it could have been on Palisades Dr. Then we have to be curious how an SUV could sit on the street for two weeks without someones suspicion alerting them somethings wrong. Also if neighbors knew this guy, they knew the car and should have seen it sitting there. Than again, why no cops noticed this SUV parked for two weeks unmoved as well and ticket it for a tow. Of course, won't be the first time cops miss a parked car with a dead body in it.

I came across a thread on godlickspopsicles and there I found the SUV was parked on Palisades dr near the house where all the guns were found.

I found somewhere else he had a stash of guns stolen some time ago with a list of weapons stolen.

Looks to me now that he was stashing registered guns again to be stolen like last time. This could be an intelligence operation to put guns on the streets.

From godlickspopsicles I found where this guy drove cars with no license plates and never got stopped or ticketed. You can't do that unless connected to some intelligence operation.

But the question remains, how could this guy amass 1,200 guns and not be on homeland security radar. And where did he get all his money to buy guns and still stash a wad a cash with 12 vehicles with no license plates.

Several storage units remained to be searched, Braun said. He had heard that there were at least four heavily modified Toyota SUVs ready for combat and able to operate in various types of terrain, including in the desert and even underwater.

"If we find a car designed to go underwater, that's really bizarre," Braun said. "The real problem is if he was working for a government agency, American or foreign, they would never corroborate it."

It hauntingly looks like a fast and furious smack up. Certainly not drug related because that would be a front page smack down. This guy took the spookz by surprise because he was working for someone well hidden. The fact it's reported he had 14 vehicles, some with no plates that he drove without plates and never was stopped and then it comes out the plate holders had the numbers for the LA under cover cops. It looks under cover but no one is talking.

Also, it was reported this guys father who was a micro biologist was involved in the roswell crash back in 47.
