I've finished 'Rational Spirituality' and 'Meaning In Absurdity'.  I think if any of you haunt fringe sites online, you need to read his material.   I have never encountered anyone who has attempted to explain the survival of consciousness thru death as he does. His work seems similar to the notion that 'we, as individually conscious, are God's way of knowing Himself as the universe'.

The Cosmos is conscious so the only way to 'know' itself is thru conscious beings whose awareness is limited and separate.  He also speculates that a time will come when the process has gone far enough and we all merge back into Cosmic Consciousness again - apart from individual death.  Without ever saying anything about it, he seems to hypothesize a future common to New Age ideas as with "Ascension" currently or the ending in Alan Moore's novel "Promethea".  Our world unites with archetypes and ideas becoming real.... at least, that's how I interpret it.  The 'Absurdity' book discusses Really Loony UFO encounters as part of this.
