A viewer with no preconceived ideas can see that the man's shirt says "Paris". A better, not cropped, version of that image shows that the shirt says "SAPEURS POMPIERS PARIS", shows the right side of a licence plate (corresponding to right side of an EU licence plate) and a bag saying "NIKE", so the image was not reversed.



PS: another thing you can see in this image is the difference between the distorted image on the opening post and the undistorted image.

PPS: I found similar images that look like taken in a very fast sequence or meaning that the images were taken from a video, but I haven't found a video with this scene.
