UFO Fans Spot Plane 'Flying 100 Times Too Fast'

Best to watch video for better info.

The object was captured on a flight tracking app - streaking across the sky over Auckland far faster than any earthly aircraft would.

It was spotted by eagle-eyed staffers at TVNZs Breakfast Club show - who then saw it on their weather cams.

Cue the spooky music.

Video

Naturally, YouTube UFO fans such as SecureTeam10 have seized on the footage as 'proof' of extraterrestrial visitors - although TVNZ seem to be rather tongue-in-cheek about their encounter.

Other, more sober observers note that flight tracker apps tend to track aircraft using transponders - which would mean that the aliens were really trying VERY hard to blend in.

The announcer says, 'Big news - a UFO. We had a sighting, guys. One of our colleagues has Flight Tracker where he watches planes all over the world.

'When we saw what was on the flight tracker, we checked the weather cams. Look at the top - what is that?

'It's not a plane. What is it? It's not the shape of a plane, it's sort of saucer shaped - in a UFO way... and there's two eyes.'

Interesting. :)

It's also interesting that the video from the weather camera doesn't appear to show something moving "100 times too fast".

Here's the original source instead of the video from the ignorant that didn't know where New South Wales is.  :P

Nice find ArMaP.

It does seem strange !.. they say they have identification details of the plane...and I assume can tell where it landed..Its reg was I think.. ZKGDG that seemed to be flying from either Northland or Palmerston I think in  New Zealand to land in Cambera. and was seen at 4.30 pm in the afternoon on the prior Saturday.

Initially I think he did say that it was used to track the night flights.
At the moment it maybe Winter in Austrailia and go dark early.

The News reporter seems to suggest it was definitely something that was seen by one of his colleagues ...on what I think was some sort of Flight tracker App for following plane flights..

Just looking at the weather cam or the footage of the object in the sky...I have no idea how they may think that they could actually see the object if it was flying at such speeds..

or Would it even be detected also from Weather Satellites ?  Do we see all the other planes by the Satellite ?

It was suggested it was travelling 120 times faster than normal..

Does that then suggest that an average plane may travel at 500 MPH... IF so , then even at 100 x faster that would be 50,000 MPH..

Would we be able to see something at such speed ?

When the Newsman shows and talks about the picture... I don't think you would see it if it was travelling so fast.

I have had someone claim I know, to have caught a planes trial on special very high speed camera that they said was not detectable by normal viewing...or so they claimed...

the reason camera may be picking it up is its basically coming at the camera or at an angle close to that.does anybody know who that number registration  is tagged too.there be something to the name.
ive never been much for rules.
being me has its priviledges.

I dont think that they would easily see the plane if it was travelling at such high speed....but I agree that the image of what they show.. could be head on or at an angle making it hard to tell what the object is.

I just tried to see if I could find the Flight number ZKGDG I think he said..but I cannot as yet find anything..

There are flight tracker websites..but I am not sure you can get past data for the Free versions..as I think me and ArMaP tried to look into another Flight in the past that we were discussing and it seemed that you had to pay for past Flight Data..

It suggested that the flight may have came from Northland or Palmerston..

I think Northland is in New Zealand and their maybe two or more Palmerstons.. one in Northern Austrialia near Darwin and another on one of the Pacific Cook Islands..

I have found one website that refers to a ZK ID...

Air New Zealand B787-9 ZK-NZF Perth Flight Number

http://www.thenzsource.com/air-new-zealand-b787-9-zk-nzf-perth-flight-number-switch/

I did find one ref that suggested that ZK GCD may have been a glider..

and I found this forum that also mentioned it... that seems to be a New Zealand Aviation forum and it maybe discussed by pilots..

http://rnzaf.proboards.com/thread/23718/strange-mysteries?page=4

One person suggests it must have been a fault in the tracker system.

QuoteThe object in the image is clearly aircraft landing lights - a basic web cam like that used (especially on a crappy night) wont have the definition to make out the Nav lights and strobes. The "Saucer" effect is lens moisture (such as is clearly visible on the rest of the image) The Flight tracking system has obviously got a spurious data bug...

QuoteHe said the rego is ZK GDG. Is that not a glider down New Plymouth way?
All I can say is the guy flying it got on one hell of a good thermal... :D (rofl)

I just came across this that does suggest that the Flight Reg number Zk GCG was a Glider and that it referred to Palmerston..

So I wonder if it was a error in the system what has happened ?

Yes, that's FlightRadar, I recognized the icons. One thing those aeroplane icons show is different types of aeroplanes, and we can see that the "UFO" appears as a smaller plane.

no problem , ill break it down##
Quotesorry was I somehow implying that they were a bad source

a source of information on subjects , given that they have reported and facilitated hoaxes, but this was not my intention

QuoteI figure they're a mixed bag

meaning they have something's that are fake and something's that are genuine objects in they're videos.. the usual duality I guess

Quotelike all other intuitions of thought

sorry that meant to say institutions :D

Quotealbeit an internet generated one

a human collaboration of like minded individual created and working through the internet..

but I did genuinely feel that secure team would have discouraged your interest more than an old animal mutilation video

From what I have seen, most of their videos are not their own, like this one, so I use them to get to the original (if they post a link to the original).

You posted 4 videos with more than 15 minutes each, not a 7 minutes video, about a topic I don't find interesting.
