crap..guess i'm going to hafta reinstall google earth..sigh

my first thoughts were  it was in the dessert and some kind of water resource being dug
lots of people..lots of industry..not so many resources for them..
but..

I thought about the experiments with benefaction in the desert, and wonder if that's whats going on there? A sort of extraction facility perhaps? Whatever it is, it's morphing, and growing, like a tumor under there.
Hmmmmm, is right.

A quick off topic question for you John, I have become the proud owner of a celestron 8 and wonder if there are any tricks youve learned about making it a more effective research tool, other than just a hobbyscope? It's pretty complicated, so any advice would be great. I thought I read somewhere you talking about having or using one, so I thought Id ask.

Check the attachment I have.  It is in the area of the above anomaly.  I am not adept at geographical things but it either is related to strip mining (circle with circles) or maybe water like was mentioned.  It is hard to see with google earth not being clear enough.  There are a couple of area in the attachment that appear to have similar shape.

Okay, I changed my mind.  Looking somewhat southeast of the anomaly I find jet aircraft and when you kind of take in the whole area, it makes me wonder if an underground base of some sort may be there.  I will attach another picture from Google Earth.

   I see that a Wiki gives quite much info of whats at china lake. Some army weapons testing site? And propably reserching new weapon systems as well. That last one was a guess. And I hope its the same China lake the Wiki is telling me about

Once upon a time they had borax mining being done in the area.  If I am not mistaken, that area may be somewhere around 20,000 acres for China Lake Naval Air Station.  Who knows.  I was there only once for 2 days and we were restricted to a certain area.  I was tasked for a burial detail nearby and we were allowed to billet at China Lake for 2 days.  This was back in the 70's.  Do they still allow borax mining on the grounds, I don't know.  It being a test and evaluation center, I kind of doubt it.  I could be wrong,  Speculation at this point.

I trucked from wisconsin to the west coast in the 90s. When I got to the coast I would pull FAK for the military through ranger transportation agents. Ranger was part of a larger conglomorate transportation called Inway.

I eventualy had to get a clearance by reporting to a class held in Indianapolis for training and certified to haul military. I wanted to run weapons and the good stuff but in order to do that, I had to install a satellite tracking with a emergency button for the government and I had to run team with another driver cause the loads had to be under a wakefull eye from the time it was loaded and headin out till it came into dock for unload.

Anyway, enough of that. I was extremely excited to haul FAK for the military and I moved stuff from indian head washington up by bremer to hawthorn and out of barstow and other bases in nevada and california and out east coast.

The one place I will be damned if I can remember anything more than showing up to load somehwere was at china lake. All that I can remember is pulling into a dirt area, walking to the guard house, a blue jeaned army green T shirted guy with an M-16 walked out and met me and told me to wait in my truck. Thats it, nothing else, I don't know what I loaded there and I can't recall where I went when I departed china lake.

I cannot for the life of me remember anything more than that. I can tell you about the other bases and such, but china lake, I get nothing. Its like my mind was wiped after talking to the guard and walking back to my truck.
