Human Towers..

Was just watching a new Prof Brian Cox Science series and it showed something that I had not seen before... a Human Tower..that I think is done in Barcelona in  Spain..not far from ArMaP !

It shows masses of people creating formations to allow strength to build a Human tower upto 8 persons high..

They use Children to create the highest point !

and some crumble...

I would fear severely if that was my Child on top ! or even for those on the higher levels ..when they fall they land on each other..

I would think it could be very easy to get badly hurt..

Forces of Nature with Brian Cox

Episode 1: The Universe in a Snowflake

Professor Brian Cox presents a new series looking at some of the most spectacular sights on Earth in the context of our understanding of the universe. Brian begins by looking at shapes in the natural world. In Spain, he shows how an attempt to build a human tower reveals the force that shapes our planet. In Nepal, honey hunters seek out giant beehives that cling to cliff walls. The perfect hexagonal honeycombs made by the bees conceal a mathematical rule. Off the coast of Canada, Brian explains how massive icebergs emerge from a tiny yet powerful force of nature. Even the most delicate snowflake tells a story of the forces that forged it.

Yes, that's a Catalan thing.

That "not far" is relative, because although Spain is the only country with which Portugal shares a border, Catalonia is on the opposite (east) side of Spain from Portugal, with Barcelona being some 1000 km from where I live. :)
