I have managed to use a proxy server with yahoo email successfully ok before maybe a year ago or so...but the last few times I tried it, It would not work for me..It may have been down to the Proxy server I used..It had been a Free one..and I cannot recall which one it had been...I was not able to find it when I searched to try and find it again a year or so later..There were then many more in the search engine rankings...so the ones id uses may had disappeared or moved down the rankings..
I just tried and I was able to use Yahoo! mail from the TOR browser. :)

QuoteEven yahoo groups now request your mobile phone number to join...NOT every one has a mobile or uses one... and they do not offer any other option.... so basically if you have a mobile number or cannot write one in the sign up process.. you are unable to join..  You can probably use a false mobile number...but why do they want a mobile number ... they used to ask for a 2nd email incase you lost you ID and PW details....but they had a sign up process where you are asked to answer some questions.. that you then can use to answer if you loose you ID details..where the lost password process then asks you the answer to one of the sign up questions.. like what was the name of your favorite teacher..that  type of thing..
Some years ago I wanted to join an Yahoo group (a group connected to the movie Anunnaki) and they asked me for my mobile phone number. I sent a complaint saying that I don't have a mobile phone and asking if there was any other way of signing to Yahoo, and I got some very polite messages from the (Brazilian) Portuguese Yahoo client support, but, at the end, they told me that without a mobile phone I couldn't get a Yahoo account.

I don't remember how I did it, but I found another way of creating an Yahoo account (I think it was because I had some old account on some other company that was bought by Yahoo or something like that) and was able to join the group. :)

QuoteIm not sure I will consider using them when it gets to that stage..
I will not.

Quotesome of your images of the quarry didn't seem to be working.. but It seems a good idea to check in them, ..Maybe in some you can get access.. but I also suspect some you may not have permission or its classed as a danger area..
Apparently, those sites do not allow linking to their images, but if you copy the image's address and paste it on the address bar of your browser you can see them. :)

QuoteI thought that ArMaP only would not watch certain videos like Alex Jones or Jessie Venturas !  :)

otherwise I think he is missing out if he won't watch any at all..
No, I don't watch to most videos because I think they are a waste of time. :)

QuoteI thought that I read it said... that they say a picture tells a story that maybe otherwise could take a 1000 words to describe...and videos offer an even better way to show or demonstrate things than even a single picture..
That "a picture's worth 1000 words" was a slogan for a camera maker. :)
To see that's not really true, can you think of an image that conveys the idea that "a picture's worth 1000 words"? ;)

Quoteif not ..then that's my description to explain why watching video is a good thing.. and helps save a lot of thought , explaining and writing time.. :P
That's another reason I don't like videos, as most videos are made in a way that thinking is not needed, you just look and absorb the information, and I like to think about the information I am getting. :)
Sometimes, explaining things to other people helps us understand them, I used to do that frequently with some of my co-workers, whenever they had some problem with their programming projects I just asked them to explain the problem in detail. Most of the times, while explaining it, they found where the problem was and solved them themselves.

PS: videos have their use, as some things are really better understood with a video, but not as much as people (and YouTube ;) ) like us to think. :)

yes I remember well, I remember you digressing about a fossil and some misdemeanour I had supposedly done by pointing out someone making a comparison on a completely different thread  of a fossil ,misleading everyone with a ridiculously high resolution photograph that was far superior to the muck nasa throw at us

Good to know...

Im not sure how other std type ones may work.. but some can be a pain to use or they want you to sign up with them etc...even thou its free..

I may try one again at some time just to see.

I think I recall now ...last time I tried...I was able to log in to yahoo thru most of the free proxy/s.. that I tried...BUT the problem was...when I then tried to click on the actual email and compose one... it did not work for me even thou it showed I was logged in thru the proxy server...again it may have been my computer was just struggling to deal with it as sometimes.. it seems poor at doing certain things..

Im not really sure what the problem maybe..

but I will try TOR next time..

Interesting to know of your experience and thoughts on also not liking having had been asked for a Mobile number...

At one time it seemed almost impossible to contact yahoo.... they had a large section of FAQs..that gave certain info...but it was not good enough in answering some questions...

Some similar things like yahoo have live chat which can be very good and help one quickly get answers to tricky questions...

Lately I have seen some SUGGESTED yahoo help websites...and I called one about 2 weeks ago..as I had lost some of my yahoo group log in details..or some I had not accessed for over a year and you are no longer able to access the groups....

and they claimed to to be able help you get back into the groups and reactivate them..

On enquiring further.. they charge you £120....

I am not even sure its really connected  to yahoo and suspected it maybe a scam...where they could take money of you and also get into your yahoo accounts..

It probably is a real company..and they just charge for it..... they say they have to use special software to access the groups..

Yahoo made some changes in the last 2 yrs if i recall.. and it may have depended when you joined..

as I think I was also able to join thru another link of the old version...

BUT they later removed that option all together..

I have not found any solution around this since..

but again why they do not offer any other option  other than a mobile phone number.. I have no idea..

I may try to see if i can join one with a made up number...

I wonder if they have a system that recognises if its genuine !?

I run one group and used to post to my members..and get members join...but since they brought the mobile number in..I think less people join..

why they cannot also use the old system of another email addess I do not know..

It may have been important for you, as I don't remember it even after a quick look at that thread I suppose it was nothing important for me. :)

I like some things about yahoo..

I prefer its main yahoo website compared to other similar websites like MSN...and I had found their email system relatively ok...

With ref to Yahoo groups....I think they were good a few years ago as a very quick and easy way to set up some sort of forum like website to obtain a following and recruit members very quickly without having to know very much about computers or running a main forum.. if say you tend to relate to one main specific topic that you want to discuss..

It does not however allow you to create separate areas for various topics like we see on PRC where there are numerous sections and topic title areas.

Is it any better than other groups..Im not certain, but I have not found other similar groups as yet that appeal to me in the same way..

The likes of Facebook is probably better (in certain things) or similar depending how one wants to use it..

Maybe that could be a better alternative..but as I had been on yahoo groups some years...I think that I had some loyalty to it..

but I don't like some of the changes..such as requiring a mobile phone number to join..

About the rock in the photo you posted?

About the rock in the photo you posted?

it wasn't , it was a fossil posted by someone else on a thread that went to the void, on that thread I made a few enhancements to the huge resolution photo that was posted, I brought it more inline with what you get with jpl , although I did give it a martian redwash for ironic Vikings sake,

you went on about how I was deceiving for quite a few pages, my point was that the comparison was a deception in the first place .. just like nasa deceives with their jpgRAW's

Now you are deceiving again, those "quite a few pages" were only three or four posts.

And I see I was right, it wasn't really important for me, just another case of funbox being funbox.  :P

Looks like porous limestone to me :P
It does, I didn't know about that kind of limestone. :)

PS: for some reason I didn't notice the last three posts on that page, that's why I only answered it now.
