Balloons go up in Red Centre as NASA signs on

Before anyone read's this you may need some back story on these baboons. Along with a bit of Front story I missed 

The Federal Government has signed a treaty with the United States allowing NASA to conduct scientific balloon launches in Alice Springs until 2022.

A failed launch in the town in 2010 nearly killed some bystanders when a balloon crashed, destroying a fence and damaging motor vehicles.

But Professor Ravi Sood says NASA has made changes to its operations and has improved its safety procedures.

"We keep the public away, we make sure that the roads near our launch area are sealed and they are blocked," he said.

"We follow very stringent civil aviation safety agency regulations.

He says NASA plans to trial some exciting technologies in the future.

"Most of these are focused on astrophysics research," he said.

"Then NASA also wants to test a space landing module which they want to use to land different experiments on different planets."

This comment caused me to think "Huh" 

The Balloon Crash happened at the Alice Springs airport..which is a hop, skip and drive away from that place which has many a Space Monitoring Domes
