Hope everyone is okay.  It was 0 went I got to Greeley yesterday, after being used to the balmy 20 in Denver.  Still a lot of ice on the side streets.

27 here in South Louisiana this morning....

It's 27 in Denver this morning. That's pretty normal for this time of year.  I still don't like it, and I was born and raised here.  I've found though, that it isn't as bad as the higher humidity cold that other places have.  Dry heat and dry cold are easier for me to deal with.

It's a balmy 5°F here in the Upper Midwest.

I should probably wear a hat.   :P

His profile lists Manitoba. That used to be t-shirt weather for me too.  Ever since my thyroid took an extended vacation, I don't deal well with temperature extremes.  The back and shoulder injuries over the years haven't helped either.  I can't even grow a beard to keep my face warm!

That would be 47 degrees Fahrenheit, Armap, just good working weather normally; but since my thyroid issues and my surgery that is a leetle on the cool side  8)

Stay warm

In U.K and parts of Europe I think this last two months have been some of the warmest days for some years for months from November , December 2016 into early Jan 2017...

It is said that the jet Stream has been moving out of its normal expected position for the Winter Months which has altered the air currents...and brought in warmer weather...

I am not sure if this may have been one of the mildest Winter months on record..at least so far ...or certainly one of them.

This article was suggesting that it may have been almost the warmest Christmas day on record in Dec 2016...

which the highest temp recorded had been previously

Quote
The warmest Christmas Days on record were in 1920 when temperatures reached 15.6C in Devon and 1896 in Edinburgh.

December 2015 was also maybe a milder year according to these articles.

Your thyroid issue might not be optimally treated.  If it isn't, that's likely contributing to your shoulder not healing properly.  I speak from unpleasant experience.

I am sure it is, Shasta; thyroid went ballistic in 2005 and was very hyper-active; then they thought it died in 2011 and eventually put me on synthyroid; then last year they told me it was working again and stop the synthyroid; my reply to the doc was I have a zombie thyroid?  :o

Synthroid is a T4 only medication.  If you can't convert inactive T4 to active T3, it won't help.  Natural dissipated thyroid contains all the hormones a working thyroid produces.  I found that I have to back up my Armour thyroid with Cytomel, which is a T3 preparation.  I was on Synthroid for years, and just kept getting worse.  Unfortunately, doctors are more concerned with lab numbers than they are with how people feel.  I take what works for me, and if the doctor doesn't like it, he doesn't like it.  I have to be able to function.
