She is in a nursing home now, 94 in August and still, because we're nearly in Winter, she is doing her phone rant about me getting the flu shot.
Now I have had pneumonia shots because I am a smoker, but I have had flu shots in the past, and we all know what the implications of that are.
So, when she said "have you got your flu shot yet, they say its going to be a bad year for that", you better hurry up and get it, its free you know." I say yes ma, got the flu shot.
Say it to her every year just to get her off my back about it.
I get mine, so I don't have to wear a mask during flu season. I had a bad reaction the year that they added the swine flu component. That was my only bad experience, other than the two years in a row that I actually got the flu. The first year, was a vaccine shortage. The next year was just bad luck.
My ex had pneumonia a couple of years ago. His was from mold growing in his air conditioner. He kept insisting that he couldn't have pneumonia, since he'd gotten the pneumonia shot. Unfortunately, that does nothing to prevent something caused by mold spores.

I hear so much about taking vaccines I hope you don't mind me Shasta, I'm wondering who here on the forum is pro or anti flu vaccine.
I'm starting to waiver now.
As a general rule of thumb, I don't take flu shots; for the last 17 years my doc has told me that he will call me and give me one if he thinks I need one; I have had the flu once in that time period... that was in 2009 after he gave me the flu shot...

I'm not pro or anti, I just think it's not worth the trouble
in my case, but other people are more likely to catch the flu, more sensitive to its possible adverse consequences and more likely to spread it, so I think those people should think about taking the vaccine.
Remember when Baxter Pharmaceuticals shipped out thousands of swine flu shots that were discovered to contain living virus of bird and swine flu together. It had viruses not even used in the manufacture of a swine flu vaccine. Nothing happened to Baxter. They're still in business. They passed laws giving big pharma immunity for botched vaccines in the US so you can't sue them for damages. Wouldn't touch flu shots. It's a racket. I thought private prisons were low but the suffering doled out by big pharma for profit takes the evil to an even more unimaginably diabolical level.

That's not only that case, Baxter Pharmaceuticals has several "controversies (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baxter_International#Controversies)".
Personal choice. My wife and I are of the opinion that it is a waste of time and effort. Flu virus mutates itself so quickly that by the time they develop a vaccine, it has changed.
In our circle of friends it seems the ones that have the most health issues are the ones that are lining up for the shot
Given the ghastly stuff in vaccines, and the fact that Our bodies have ZERO defenses against the stuff when administered in an injection, I will take no vaccines. Period. Formaldehyde, live viruses, mercury, aborted foetal cells, and on and on. Vitamin C, and such for Me!
If you're taking vitamin C supplements, and other supplements, you do know that they're manufactured by the same companies that manufacture vaccines, right? And thimerosal hasn't been used as a vaccine preservative for some years.
Shasta
I was questioning that they have quit using thimerosal. You are correct in that they HAVE taken most of it out.
I am going to have to add that to my Mandela effect items because I was sure they were still using it.
That is a positive change.
The idea of vaccines is a positive. I was watching a show and it was talking about the native Indians on a British Columbia island that were 95 percent wiped out when the white man came to their island as a result of small pox. That disease is pretty well a non issue now because of vaccines.
Take this for the anecdotal testimony that it is, but every time this year my roommate got sick and I felt it starting in me I took 50,000 i.u. of Vitamin D3 and it never blew up into full flu. I've done this about five times this year. It's the first year in all the years I can remember that I didn't so much as get a cold.
The 50k i.u. vit D came from a doc in the form of ergocalcifer. When I ran out of that I just took a handful of 3k i.u. capsules.
I am not recommending anyone do this.
I read a research report a few years ago that said vit D3 had proven as if not more effective than vaccine shots at preventing flu. It's either a phenomenal coincidence or it has really been effective.

Three companies out of how many? Most supplements have some sort of paper trail, money trail, or research trail associated with big pharma.

Even if it were only three companies your original statement that a person taking supplements is de facto taking products from big pharma is still faulty.
There are quality supplement products available by companies not related to big pharma.

I disagree; you, Titan, named three manufacturers; Shasta stated what is closer to reality than your rebuttal statement; the greater majority of readily available vitamins and supplements are indeed manufactured by large pharmaceutical/chemical companies...
There are many on the market that are natural and /or marketed by small, single source producers, but the reputation and hype behind the large name brands is what Joe Sixpack is familiar with...

The original post did not say some or even most but merely that if you buy supplements then they are from the same company that makes vaccines.
Since nobody knows what supplement brands another person is taking unless they say so it is impossible
to declare such a definitive statement.
Now both of you are arguing for "most" and it was wandered a bit from "the same companies that make the vaccines" to pharmaceutical/chemical companies.
Not every pharmaceutical or company is involved in vaccine production.
Remember, the original post simply stated that if I take supplements I am supporting and imbibing products made from the exact same companies that make the vaccines. I disagree as zero evidence
has been provided linking the supplements I take to any company that produces vaccines.

Look at the original post I responded to. There is nothing general about it. It doesn't even say "some" or "most". It says that I'm taking supplements made by vaccine producers. Period. That is not true. If the original statement said something to the effect that one should be aware that some producers of vitamins also make the vaccines that would be different. You are attributing generality where there originally wasn't generalization. I'm not interested in having a thread about vitamins. I was interested in responding to a post someone else made in this thread that is not factual.

I fail to see where Shasta's original comment to Amy in any way stated or suggested anything about your vitamin companies
her reply to you did not state or imply anything about your three named companies either; It says
most supplements are associated in some manner.

Titan, I'm a nurse, and a former pharmacy technician. I've also been a "victim" of big pharma. They have interests in many areas, and too many times, their interests are not in the best interests of patients. A lot of R&D went into developing every medication and supplement being marketed. Small companies don't have the budget for that. I'll bow out of the discussion now.
