While there are already two other threads here on the subject, they both have tangents. I believe we need a place here for specifically staying informed about the progress of the Ebola outbreak, and about the progress on the fight against it. We do need to be informed and to stay informed throughout the cycle of this disease, as we just can't know otherwise what actions we might need to individually take.

So, for this initial OP post, I am posting what is simply a very small piece of the reality of the potentially world wide catastrophic Ebola disease outbreak. This is up front and personal in one family's life with Ebola. Pray to God that this doesn't get to wherever each one of us might be!!

Seven days ago Oliver Wilson drove his sick, shivering wife Layson to an isolation clinic for suspected cases of Ebola.

The 33-year-old nurse, knew from her symptoms that she had contracted the world's most feared virus.

She knew also that she was about to die from the incurable disease.

But she had stopped short of telling Oliver.

And she deliberately didn't hug their one-year-old son Oliver Junior as she walked alone through the quarantine tape surrounding the tin-roofed hospital unit.

Her fear that she could infect the tot through a drop of sweat or a stray tear was based on sound knowledge.

Yesterday grief-stricken Oliver wept and banged his head against the steering wheel of the family car as he watched Layson's body chucked unceremoniously on to the back of a truck in a white plastic bag.

He had been denied the chance to say goodbye to his childhood sweetheart.

In a macabre scene, the corpses of seven other Ebola victims – including a six-year-old boy – were loaded on to the flatbed lorry.

I looked on aghast as grimly determined mortuary workers, clad head to toe in protective clothing, tipped Layson's corpse off a stretcher – like earth from a wheelbarrow.

Apparently China has done their own drug work for fighting Ebola!! Hopefully their drugs will help contain and stop the Ebola outbreak.

Ebola reagent developed in China waiting for approval

(ECNS) – A nucleic acid reagent to test the deadly Ebola virus has been developed in China, according to people.cn on Thursday.

An application for urgent examination and approval of the reagent has been submitted to China Food and Drug Administration (CFDA).

The reagent is co-developed by BGI, a Shenzhen-based gene company and the Institute of Microbiology Epidemiology at Academy of Military Medical Sciences.

BGI has participated in completing China's first genome sequence of SARS virus and developing H7N9 diagnostic reagent.

Though the virus has not spread to China and possibility of an Ebola outbreak is extremely low, the reagent is still essential for prevention, said a researcher with the project.

Ebola, mainly spreading through body fluids or secretions of the inflected, is believed to be very difficult to control.

Over 1,069 people have reportedly died from the virus with 1,975 infected in the West Africa by August 11.

China's Ebola test kit gets production approval

(ECNS) -- A test kit for the Ebola virus developed by China's Academy of Military Medical Sciences has received approval for mass production and will be made by a firm in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, the People's Daily reported Thursday morning.

Researchers have adopted a "compound probe," a technology with independent intellectual property rights over the nucleic acid detection kit. They have developed test kits for H1N1, H7N9 and NDM-1 viruses using the technology.

The test kit for Ebola will be produced by Shenzhen Puruikang Biotech Co., Ltd.

Experts said early diagnosis is important for controlling infection by the deadly virus, as there has been no preventive vaccination or effective drug yet.

WHO chief says no early end to Ebola outbreak

Director-general of the World Health Organization (WHO) Margaret Chan said Wednesday that she saw no signs of an early end to the Ebola outbreak in West Africa that has killed over 1,300 people since March.

"No one is talking about an early end to the outbreak," Chan wrote in a perspective article in the U.S. journal New England Journal of Medicine. "The international community will need to gear up for many more months of massive, coordinated, and targeted assistance."

Chan said what makes the outbreak so large, so severe, and so difficult to contain is poverty.

"The hardest-hit countries, Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone, are among the poorest in the world," she said. "They have only recently emerged from years of conflict and civil war that have left their health systems largely destroyed or severely disabled and, in some areas, left a generation of children without education."

According to the WHO chief, in these countries, only one or two doctors are available for every 100,000 people, and these doctors are heavily concentrated in urban areas. What's worse, nearly 160 health care workers have been infected, and more than 80 have died. In addition, isolation wards and hospital capacity for infection control are "virtually nonexistent."

Now the number is 1,427 deaths!

Right now, it is pretty obvious that there is no ceiling for how many deaths there could be during this outbreak. I suppose that a major component of consideration is just how far could it spread?? Last week we were talking about 1,100 deaths so far, and a week later that number has grown about 30%.

Ebola continues to spread in West Africa as Sierra Leone voted to pass a new amendment imposing jail time for anyone caught hiding an Ebola patient.

With 142 new cases recorded, the total number is now 2,615 with 1,427 deaths, the World Health Organization said Friday. The group added that the magnitude of the Ebola outbreak has been "underestimated."

"Many families hide infected loved ones in their homes," the organization wrote in an assessment. "Others deny that a patient has Ebola and believe that care in an isolation ward — viewed as an incubator of the disease — will lead to infection and certain death. Most fear the stigma and social rejection that come to patients and families when a diagnosis of Ebola is confirmed."

Most of the new cases are in Liberia. So far, that country has record 1,082 cases and 624 deaths. New treatment centers are overwhelmed by patients that were not previously identified.

One center with 20 beds opened its doors to 70 possibly infected people, likely coming from "shadow-zones" where people fearing authorities won't let doctors enter, the U.N. health agency said.

"This phenomenon strongly suggests the existence of an invisible caseload of patients who are not being detected by the surveillance system," the agency said. This has "never before been seen in an Ebola outbreak."

The government in Liberia was delivering donated rice to a slum where 50,000 people have been sealed off from the rest of the capital in an attempt to contain the outbreak.

Sierra Leone has recorded at least 910 cases and 392 deaths. The World Health Organization believes the hiding of Ebola patients in the country has contributed to a major underestimation of the current outbreak.

Well, as of August 26, the total number of deaths now is 1,552, a growth of  125 in just 3 days  since last report.

Actually, by now we can assume that number probably has grown by another significant number! This article is saying, "The Ebola epidemic in West Africa could infect over 20,000 people and spread to more countries". Even at the current 52% fatality rate, that would equate to 5,200 deaths.

The Ebola epidemic in West Africa could infect over 20,000 people and spread to more countries, the U.N. health agency said on Thursday, warning that an international effort costing almost half a billion dollars is needed to overcome the outbreak.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) announced a $490 million strategic plan to contain the epidemic over the next nine months, saying it was based on a projection that the virus could spread to 10 further countries beyond the four now affected - Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Nigeria.

With the IMF warning of economic damage from the outbreak, Nigeria reported that a doctor indirectly linked to the Liberian-American who brought the disease to the country had died of Ebola in Port Harcourt, Africa's largest energy hub.

In Britain, drugmaker GlaxoSmithKline said an experimental Ebola vaccine is being fast-tracked into human studies and it plans to produce up to 10,000 doses for emergency deployment if the results are good.

So far 3,069 cases have been reported in the outbreak but the WHO said the actual number could already be two to four times higher. "This is not a West African issue or an African issue. This is a global health security issue," WHO's Assistant Director-General Dr Bruce Aylward told reporters in Geneva.

With a fatality rate of 52 percent, the death toll stood at 1,552 as of Aug. 26. That is nearly as high as the total from all recorded outbreaks since Ebola was discovered in what is now Democratic Republic of Congo in 1976.

The figures do not include 13 deaths from a separate Ebola outbreak announced at the weekend in Congo, which has been identified as a different strain of the virus.

The suspected case was a health worker for the red cross.

One does has to raise the question as to why even people who are protected like they are keep on getting infected... Last time I heard that over 270 health care workers where infected.

If 20,000 people are infected, mentioned as a possibility, then the total deaths would be 10,400 prox, on the assumption that the current 52% rate continues.

This is just more detail about the reality of the Ebola outbreak, and the fact that thus far, it is out of control!!! "It is bad now, and is going to get worse in the very near future", a statement made by Tom Freiden, Director, for the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention. He says, "The outbreak is now increasing rapidly". He also says, "This is not just a problem for West Africa, not just a problem for Africa, it's a problem for the world and the world needs to respond".

ATLANTA (CBS Atlanta/AP) — The director for the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention says that the Ebola outbreak is going to get worse.

Speaking to "CBS This Morning" following his trip to the West African countries dealing with the outbreak, Dr. Tom Frieden explained that they have to act now to try to get Ebola under control.

"It is the world's first Ebola epidemic and it is spiraling out of control. It's bad now and it's going to get worse in the very near future," Frieden told CBS News. "There is still a window of opportunity to tamp it down, but that window is closing. We really have to act now."

Frieden, who visited Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea, will tell Washington tomorrow that the Ebola outbreak is "spiraling upward." The CDC director explained that these countries still need help to deal with the deadly outbreak.

"We need to support countries with resources, with technical experts and with cooperation. Too many places are sealing off these countries," Frieden told CBS News. "If we do that, paradoxically, it's going to reduce safety everywhere else. Whether we like it or not, we're all connected and it's in our interest to help them tamp this down and control it."

Frieden said that they cannot wait for vaccines to deal with the disease.

"Vaccines and treatments may come along, but right now what we have are tried and true methods that we have to scale up. They have worked in prior outbreaks but we are not getting to scale," Frieden told "CBS This Morning." "The epidemic is going faster than we are. We need to scale up our response. We can hope for new tools and maybe they'll come, but we can't count on them."

WHO: Ebola death toll tops 1,900, surpassing all previous outbreaks combined

The death toll from the Ebola epidemic in West Africa has surpassed 1,900 people, the World Health Organization's chief said Wednesday.

Less than a week ago the death toll stood at 1,552 people. More people have now died in the 2014 Ebola epidemic than in all previous outbreaks combined (1,590, according to the WHO).

WHO's director general Margaret Chan, speaking at a special UN press briefing on the outbreak, said Wednesday that the "Ebola epidemic is the largest, and most severe, and most complex we have ever seen in the nearly 40-year history of this disease." She added: "No one, even outbreak responders, (has) ever seen anything like it."

According to the WHO, more than 3,500 people have been infected with the deadly virus as of this week in Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia.

While sounding the alarm on the rapid spread of the disease in those countries, Chan added that the outbreak in Nigeria is, while still serious, "much smaller" and mainly contained to those connected to the air traveler who first brought the disease to the country. However, a contact of that air traveler brought the virus to Port Harcourt, where there are now three confirmed cases, the WHO added. Senegal, Chan said, is still reporting just one case within its borders: a Guinean national who traveled there.

The Ebola virus is spreading exponentially across Liberia as patients fill taxis in a fruitless search for medical care, the World Health Organization said Monday.

In Sierra Leone, a doctor working for WHO tested positive and was preparing to be evacuated from the country. Meanwhile, the newest U.S. patient, a doctor infected in Liberia, was feeling a little better and could even eat a little, doctors treating him in Nebraska said.

The various reports illustrated in the clearest possible way the disparities driving the epidemic in West Africa, where there's almost no medical system structure. The three patients evacuated to the United States have all begun to recover quickly once they get good supportive care, which includes around-the-clock nursing care and good nutrition.

WHO and other groups have been warning that the situation in Liberia and Sierra Leone and Guinea is dire. It's especially bad in Liberia, WHO said Monday.

"Transmission of the Ebola virus in Liberia is already intense and the number of new cases is increasing exponentially," WHO said in a statement.

"In Monrovia, taxis filled with entire families, of whom some members are thought to be infected with the Ebola virus, crisscross the city, searching for a treatment bed. There are none. As WHO staff in Liberia confirm, no free beds for Ebola treatment exist anywhere in the country."

For example, in Montserrado county, 1,000 beds are urgently needed but only 240 beds are available. WHO has said more than 3,600 people have been infected with Ebola in this West African epidemic, and 2,000 have died, but the organization predicts as many as 20,000 will be sickened before it's over. Half of those infected have been dying.

Research by the University of Oxford reveals how 15 more countries across Africa could be hit by the Ebola virus

The deadliest Ebola outbreak in history could spread to a further 15 countries in West and Central Africa, putting up to 70 million people at risk of infection, a ground-breaking study has found.

Research by the University of Oxford compared historic outbreaks to the virus' possible transmission in bats and chimpanzees to predict how the disease could spread through its vast animal reservoir.

It is the first time scientists have attempted to explain how the virus, which is contracted through contact with infected bodily fluids, has travelled westward across Africa.

The resulting map shows how the populations of the Central African Republic, Cameroon, Ghana and a dozen more countries could be hit by the outbreak, which has already killed nearly 2,300 people in 2014.

Several species of bat are suspected of carrying the virus through the jungles of West and Central Africa without showing symptoms, passing the disease onto other animals which are eaten by some communities as "bush meat".

Researchers said transmission to the human population was not "inevitable", but that environmental factors in many more countries than previously considered made it possible for further Ebola outbreak outbreaks.

According to the Oxford study, Cote D'Ivoire, Gabon, Angola, Tanzania, Togo, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Burundi, Equatorial Guinea, Madagascar and Malawi could also join those countries already affected.

More than 1,000 people have so far died in Liberia, where the country's Defence Minister Brownie Samukai has said the disease threatens the country's very existence.

"Liberia is facing a serious threat to its national existence. The deadly Ebola virus has caused a disruption of the normal functioning of our State," he said yesterday.

ATLANTA/MONROVIA (Reuters) - President Barack Obama on Tuesday called West Africa's deadly Ebola outbreak a looming threat to global security and announced a major expansion of the U.S. role in trying to halt its spread, including deployment of 3,000 troops to the region.

"The reality is that this epidemic is going to get worse before it gets better," Obama said at the U.S. Centres for Disease Control and Prevention's Atlanta headquarters.

"But right now, the world still has an opportunity to save countless lives. Right now, the world has the responsibility to act, to step up and to do more. The United States of America intends to do more," Obama added.

The U.S. plan, a dramatic expansion of Washington's initial response last week, won praise from the U.N. World Health Organization, aid workers and officials in West Africa. But health experts said it was still not enough to contain the epidemic, which is quickly growing and has caused local healthcare systems to buckle under the strain of fighting it.

U.S. officials said the focus of the military deployment would be Liberia, a nation founded by freed American slaves that is the hardest hit of the countries affected by the crisis.

Obama's plan calls for sending 3,000 troops, including engineers and medical personnel; establishing a regional command and control centre in Liberia's capital, Monrovia; building 17 treatment centres with 100 beds each; training thousands of healthcare workers - up to 500 per week for six months or longer; and establishing a military control centre for coordinating the relief effort.

"We have to act fast. We can't dawdle on this one," Obama said.

Right now, this thing has the possibility of becoming really UGLY before it is defeated. The forecasts of infections are all over the place, but they likely are beginning to be more realistic in their number estimates, if EBOLA is not quickly controlled. If these higher numbers of infection rate predictions were to happen, at the current death rates, the number of deaths would be staggering!

CDC report predicts as many as 1.4 million cases of Ebola by January

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released a report Tuesday predicting as many as 550,000 to 1.4 million cases of the Ebola virus in Liberia and Sierra Leone alone, by the end of January.

The CDC calculations are based, in part, on assumptions that cases have been dramatically underreported. Other projections haven't made the same kind of attempt to quantify illnesses that may have been missed in official counts.

CDC scientists conclude there may be as many as 21,000 reported and unreported cases in just those two countries as soon as the end of this month.

"The model shows — and I don't think this has been shown by other modeling tools out there — that a surge now can break the back of the epidemic. It also shows that there are severe costs of delay," CDC Director Dr. Thomas Frieden said in a press conference Tuesday.

The agency's numbers seem "somewhat pessimistic" and do not account for infection control efforts already underway, said Dr. Richard Wenzel, a Virginia Commonwealth University scientist who formerly led the International Society for Infectious Diseases.

Separately, the World Health Organization (WHO) warned in a new report that the number of people infected with the Ebola virus could reach 20,000 by the beginning of November if efforts to contain the outbreak are not accelerated.

The outbreak has killed around 2,800 people in five West African countries this year. An estimated 5,800 people have been infected with the virus, which has no known cure. The WHO has repeatedly said that the actual number of infections and deaths is almost certainly higher than the official figures.

The report, published six months after the first cases were reported, is far more pessimistic than an earlier survey published last month, in which the WHO suggested that the number of cases could reach 20,000 by the middle of next year. According to The New York Times, the report also raises the possibility that the outbreak will cause Ebola to become endemic in West Africa.

I suspect we now have a mutated virus.  It's never been this transmitable before.  I think we need to come to grips it's going to end up like the flu.  Something that never really goes away and it constantly breaking out here and there.  Only with a 70% mortality rate, not 1%.

I'll take a vaccine in a heartbeat considering how brutal this virus is.

Given that there is no evidence that vaccines work, that they are a cocktail of toxins, simian virii, and other stuff never meant to enter the bloodstream, and unvaccinated children seem to be immune to the respiratory virus that is ravaging the miswest...  I will avoid any additional load on My system and NOT get a shot.

I think Ebola may be one of the scariest bugs man has yet come across. It's not as a result of how it kills, as that isn't unique by any stretch. Other bugs kill by the same mechanisms. It isn't the mortality rate, which can hit as high as 90% in some previous outbreaks. In my view, it comes down to how much is still mystery. The very host population which spawns it as well as precise transmission method for some past documented cases are but a couple of the areas left as question marks with a little critter that needs no mystery to make a grand entrance where it appears.

It supplied an in-depth summary of some specific cases and raises some of the core and most disturbing questions by the choice of cases and circumstances to examine. These aren't full case files. Ebola as a man made biological agent forms an interesting interpretation of the 1970's data surrounding its initial appearance in modern Africa. I'm not sure I can say I've seen data to support that in either the first official case documented in 1976 or the suspected first case that came some period before that. The current outbreak has almost played out like a well known movie without the isolation of a small California town as the setting though. Complete with a previously unknown treatment with exceptional outcome, previously left to sit in a freezer until, oddly, fitting just right for this outbreak and strain. Odd, how that came to be.

Ebola was traced to green monkeys and bats in the Congo. Yes, it has been weaponized, and combined with other viruses like smallpox, but it has a natural source and reservoir in Africa.

You know what bothers me the most about the guesswork being disguised as science or epidemiology here? It was watching or listening to estimates of 250,000 grow to 500,000, then a Million ...in as many days as there were estimates being published. Now, that may not have been so terribly bad if a place like Drudge weren't around to highlight those headlines as they came, and to show in so clear a way that the estimates weren't from different sources to explain the radical range over so short a period. They were coming from Uncle Sam and his children at CDC.

My feeling on this has been similar from near the start, and for a variety of reasons. When those handling this crisis learn to count or assess and learn to convey that information honestly? I may just read some of it.

Until then, the ever growing doom of headlines while still saying we have nothing personal to worry about in our individual lives as Americans leaves me with a mental image of the 3 stooges in lab coats and a CDC emblem on their breast pockets. This isn't the way to get that 'warm and fuzzy' feeling of confidence, to be sure.

I feel about the same way Wrabbit - either we are directly being treated as stooges by our government representatives, or, their performance is simply another outward expression of their total ineptness to handle any real task, menial or otherwise. I certainly do. Why we are sending military men to fight a microscopic bug is beyond my comprehension. The civil situation there is not and has never been our business to get into. Someone take a moment, for example, and look up Liberia for it's origins and founding. I am 100% and absolutely serious. It's history is something no history class I've been in ever mentioned, including college level ones. It's been a very very long time since we were in those nations, in-force, and to any measure worthy of the term. That is a GOOD thing, in my view. Africa for Africans, and the hazards of living there come with it.

I could see sending some USAMRIID people for a contingent from the D.O.D., but this isn't USAMRIID that I'm aware of and that section doesn't have 3,000 warm bodies in their entire command that could be detached and sent off like this, anyway. I could be mistaken on that, but I'd bet a small bit of cash that I'm not.

We're sending our guys into a biological meat grinder and into an area of the world already starting to grasp toward witch doctors or superstition to explain what isn't explainable to them. How will our alien faces be seen in those lands, once that trend really takes full hold?

After all, and I try to keep this in mind, how DOES it actually appear to someone living this, over there? They are in a hot zone with 70-80% death rates to a bug transmission methods aren't matching with to what they are being told is safe or isn't safe. It must seem like the end of the world to them...and to many of them? It is.

One DROP of aerosolized Ebola infected blood is capable of infecting 500,000 people.

Those are the maximum boundary conditions for Airborne Ebola infection based on USAMRIID's report that an airborne dose of less than 10 Plaque Forming Units [PFU] is capable of creating an infection. Research indicates that one mL of Ebola infected blood often contains on the order of 100,000,000 PFU's.

Of course this begs the question, how much could one sneeze in a room infect?

The Answers:

One milliLiter of Ebola infected blood, at maximum, is capable of infecting a 22,072 Square Foot room to the extent that taking one breath of air from that room would infect a person.

One DROP of Ebola infected blood, at maximum, is capable of infecting a 1,104 Square Foot room to the extent that taking one breath of air from that room would infect a person.




The key take away from this analysis is that an INSANELY small amount of Airborne Ebola has a MASSIVE infectious potential. In fact Ebola's infectious potential is so great that its not the amount of Ebola that is the infectious constraint, rather the constraint is how long Ebola can survive in the Air.

Unfortunately, According to the US Army's  Center for Aerobiological Sciences, Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases at Fort Detrick, Maryland:

(1) Ebola has an aerosol stability that is comparable to Influenza-A

(2) Much like Flu, Airborne Ebola transmissions need Winter type conditions to maximize Aerosol infection

"Filoviruses, which are classified as Category A Bioterrorism Agents by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Atlanta, GA), have stability in aerosol form comparable to other lipid containing viruses such as influenza A virus, a low infectious dose by the aerosol route (less than 10 PFU) in NHPs, and case fatality rates as high as ~90% ."

"The mode of acquisition of viral infection in index cases is usually unknown. Secondary transmission of filovirus infection is typically thought to occur by direct contact with infected persons or infected blood or tissues. Quite possibly the only thing standing between us and a massive EBOLA outbreak is, Winter Weather and ONE Ebola infected sneeze.

Thank you very much for addressing this and in a way that presents much better than I believe I could have. I've been avoiding this aspect of this entire subject due to the confusion almost inherent in saying 'airborne' vs. aerosolized.

The USAMRIID handbook I linked earlier on here covers this as well in it's chapter on Hemorrhagic Fever and Ebola in particular. Like everyone else, they are...cagey and almost coy about how they put everything. It's a 'this is real bad..but we can't prove it's bad so lets explain it to let you make your own decision' type of layout. Same with the Canadian MSDS also linked earlier and the Canadian Ministry of Health. The Canadians seem to be less interested in hype or hot air with more focus on the bare biologic facts about this bugger.

Nothing quite gets the point across like the drop to impact ratio tho...and I thought only presentations like VX gas could have quite that whammy to them. Hmm... I stand corrected in my thinking now. Ebola has the same impact for that style of explaining it.

I think the simple fear of public confusion leading to panic is the single reason that they are not being far more open and blunt about what they know, don't know and more than either of those? Just can't be sure of. After all, a public panic will negate any measures they COULD and should take if this breaks out.

That report is interesting, but also says that, although the provoked aerosol transmission worked in the experiment, it doesn't look like it has work in any human "natural" case, but they have one possible explanation for that:

Pianka (https://www.biosci.utexas.edu/ib/faculty/pianka.htm), was addressing the 109th meeting of the Texas Academy of Science at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, in early March, after the academy had named him 2006 Distinguished Texas Scientist.
       
Present at Pianka's speech was Forrest M. Mim III (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forrest_Mims), a popular science writer and editor of the bi-weekly journal, The Citizen Scientist. He reported:

"Something curious occurred a minute before Pianka began speaking. An official of the Academy approached a video camera operator at the front of the auditorium and engaged him in animated conversation. The camera operator did not look pleased as he pointed the lens of the big camera to the ceiling and slowly walked away.

"This curious incident came to mind a few minutes later when Professor Pianka began his speech by explaining that the general public is not yet ready to hear what he was about to tell us. Because of many years of experience as a writer and editor, Pianka's strange introduction and the TV camera incident raised a red flag in my mind ... I grabbed a notepad ..." Pianka began his speech by condemning anthropocentrism, or the idea that the human race occupies a privileged position in nature. He exclaimed, "We're no better than bacteria!"

He argued that the sharp increase in the human population since the onset of industrialization was destroying the planet. He warned that Earth would not survive unless its human population was reduced to a tenth of its present number.

He then offered drastic solutions, accompanying his remarks with a slide depicting the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.




War and famine were insufficient for solving global overpopulation, he explained. Instead, disease was far more efficient and swift. At this point, Pianka displayed a slide showing rows of human skulls.

AIDS took too long to kill people off, he explained.

His preferred method of exterminating over five billion human beings was via airborne Ebola (Ebola Reston), because it is both highly lethal and kills its victims in days rather than years.

However, as Mim observed: "Professor Pianka did not mention that Ebola victims die a slow and torturous death as the virus initiates a cascade of biological calamities inside the victim that eventually liquefy the internal organs."[/i]

Mim reported: "It wasn't merely a smattering of polite clapping that audiences diplomatically reserve for poor or boring speakers. It was a loud, vigorous and enthusiastic applause. ...

During a question-and-answer session, Pianka praised communist China's draconian one-child policy, and suggested that IQs are falling because only "uncaring people" (i.e., people with below-average intelligence) have large families.

Mim recalls how, once the questioning was over:

"I watched in amazement as a few hundred members of the Texas Academy of Science rose to their feet and gave a standing ovation to a speech that enthusiastically advocated the elimination of 90 percent of Earth's population by airborne Ebola. ..."

"Some even cheered. Dozens then mobbed the professor at the lectern. ..."

A few hours later, the Texas Academy of Science presented Pianka with a plaque in recognition of his being named 2006 Distinguished Texas Scientist.

Executive director of the Society for Amateur Scientists, Dr Shawn Carlson, later warned in The Citizen Scientist (April 2, 2006):

"I believe, with the terrible experience of the bloodiest century in human history behind us, that all men and women of conscious in the 21st century must be proactive in our opposition to genocidal or apocalyptic philosophies, before they have the chance to inspire some new champion with the will to take their conclusions to the next step.

"When the professional scientists have lost their sense of moral outrage at such ideologies, then it falls to America's great community of citizen scientists to be the conscious of science."

By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, I hereby order as follows:

Section 1. Policy.
The discovery of antibiotics in the early 20th century fundamentally transformed human and veterinary medicine. Antibiotics save millions of lives each year in the United States and around the world. The rise of antibiotic-resistant bacteria, however, represents a serious threat to public health and the economy. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) estimates that annually at least two million illnesses and 23,000 deaths are caused by antibiotic-resistant bacteria in the United States alone.

Detecting, preventing, and controlling antibiotic resistance requires a strategic, coordinated, and sustained effort. It also depends on the engagement of governments, academia, industry, healthcare providers, the general public, and the agricultural community, as well as international partners.

Success in this effort will require significant efforts to: minimize the emergence of antibiotic-resistant bacteria; preserve the efficacy of new and existing antibacterial drugs; advance research to develop improved methods for combating antibiotic resistance and conducting antibiotic stewardship; strengthen surveillance efforts in public health and agriculture; develop and promote the use of new, rapid diagnostic technologies; accelerate scientific research and facilitate the development of new antibacterial drugs, vaccines, diagnostics, and other novel therapeutics; maximize the dissemination of the most up-to-date information on the appropriate and proper use of antibiotics to the general public and healthcare providers; work with the pharmaceutical industry to include information on the proper use of over-the-counter and prescription antibiotic medications for humans and animals; and improve international collaboration and capabilities for prevention, surveillance, stewardship, basic research, and drug and diagnostics development.

The Federal Government will work domestically and internationally to detect, prevent, and control illness and death related to antibiotic-resistant infections by implementing measures that reduce the emergence and spread of antibiotic-resistant bacteria and help ensure the continued availability of effective therapeutics for the treatment of bacterial infections.

Sec. 2. Oversight and Coordination.
Combating antibiotic-resistant bacteria is a national security priority. The National Security Council staff, in collaboration with the Office of Science and Technology Policy, the Domestic Policy Council, and the Office of Management and Budget, shall coordinate the development and implementation of Federal Government policies to combat antibiotic-resistant bacteria, including the activities, reports, and recommendations of the Task Force for Combating Antibiotic-Resistant Bacteria established in section 3 of this order.

Sec. 3. Task Force for Combating Antibiotic-Resistant Bacteria.
There is hereby established the Task Force for Combating Antibiotic-Resistant Bacteria (Task Force), to be co-chaired by the Secretaries of Defense, Agriculture, and HHS.

(a) Membership.
In addition to the Co-Chairs, the Task Force shall consist of representatives from:
(i) the Department of State;
(ii) the Department of Justice;
(iii) the Department of Veterans Affairs;
(iv) the Department of Homeland Security;
(v) the Environmental Protection Agency;
(vi) the United States Agency for International Development;
(vii) the Office of Management and Budget;
(viii) the Domestic Policy Council;
(ix) the National Security Council staff;
(x) the Office of Science and Technology Policy;
(xi) the National Science Foundation; and
(xii) such executive departments, agencies, or offices as the Co-Chairs may designate.

Each executive department, agency, or office represented on the Task Force (Task Force agency) shall designate an employee of the Federal Government to perform the functions of the Task Force. In performing its functions, the Task Force may make use of existing interagency task forces on antibiotic resistance.

(b) Mission.
The Task Force shall identify actions that will provide for the facilitation and monitoring of implementation of this order and the National Strategy for Combating Antibiotic-Resistant Bacteria (Strategy).

(c) Functions.
(i) By February 15, 2015, the Task Force shall submit a 5-year National Action Plan (Action Plan) to the President that outlines specific actions to be taken to implement the Strategy. The Action Plan shall include goals, milestones, and metrics for measuring progress, as well as associated timelines for implementation. The Action Plan shall address recommendations made by the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology regarding combating antibiotic resistance.

(ii) Within 180 days of the release of the Action Plan and each year thereafter, the Task Force shall provide the President with an update on Federal Government actions to combat antibiotic resistance consistent with this order, including progress made in implementing the Strategy and Action Plan, plans for addressing any barriers preventing full implementation of the Strategy and Action Plan, and recommendations for new or modified actions. Annual updates shall include specific goals, milestones, and metrics for all proposed actions and recommendations. The Task Force shall take Federal Government resources into consideration when developing these proposed actions and recommendations.

(iii) In performing its functions, the Task Force shall review relevant statutes, regulations, policies, and programs, and shall consult with relevant domestic and international organizations and experts, as necessary.

(iv) The Task Force shall conduct an assessment of progress made towards achieving the milestones and goals outlined in the Strategy in conjunction with the Advisory Council established pursuant to section 4 of this order.

Sec. 4. Presidential Advisory Council on Combating Antibiotic-Resistant Bacteria.

(a) The Secretary of HHS (Secretary), in consultation with the Secretaries of Defense and Agriculture, shall establish the Presidential Advisory Council on Combating Antibiotic-Resistant Bacteria (Advisory Council). The Advisory Council shall be composed of not more than 30 members to be appointed or designated by the Secretary.

(b) The Secretary shall designate a chairperson from among the members of the Advisory Council.

(c) The Advisory Council shall provide advice, information, and recommendations to the Secretary regarding programs and policies intended to: preserve the effectiveness of antibiotics by optimizing their use; advance research to develop improved methods for combating antibiotic resistance and conducting antibiotic stewardship; strengthen surveillance of antibiotic-resistant bacterial infections; prevent the transmission of antibiotic-resistant bacterial infections; advance the development of rapid point-of-care and agricultural diagnostics; further research on new treatments for bacterial infections; develop alternatives to antibiotics for agricultural purposes; maximize the dissemination of up-to-date information on the appropriate and proper use of antibiotics to the general public and human and animal healthcare providers; and improve international coordination of efforts to combat antibiotic resistance. The Secretary shall provide the President with all written reports created by the Advisory Council.

(d) Task Force agencies shall, to the extent permitted by law, provide the Advisory Council with such information as it may require for purposes of carrying out its functions.

(e) To the extent permitted by law, and subject to the availability of appropriations, HHS shall provide the Advisory Council with such funds and support as may be necessary for the performance of its functions.

Sec. 5. Improved Antibiotic Stewardship.

(a) By the end of calendar year 2016, HHS shall review existing regulations and propose new regulations or other actions, as appropriate, that require hospitals and other inpatient healthcare delivery facilities to implement robust antibiotic stewardship programs that adhere to best practices, such as those identified by the CDC. HHS shall also take steps to encourage other healthcare facilities, such as ambulatory surgery centers and dialysis facilities, to adopt antibiotic stewardship programs.

(b) Task Force agencies shall, as appropriate, define, promulgate, and implement stewardship programs in other healthcare settings, including office-based practices, outpatient settings, emergency departments, and institutional and long-term care facilities such as nursing homes, pharmacies, and correctional facilities.

(c) By the end of calendar year 2016, the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) shall review their existing regulations and, as appropriate, propose new regulations and other actions that require their hospitals and long-term care facilities to implement robust antibiotic stewardship programs that adhere to best practices, such as those defined by the CDC. DoD and the VA shall also take steps to encourage their other healthcare facilities, such as ambulatory surgery centers and outpatient clinics, to adopt antibiotic stewardship programs.

(d) Task Force agencies shall, as appropriate, monitor improvements in antibiotic use through the National Healthcare Safety Network and other systems.

(e) The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in HHS, in coordination with the Department of Agriculture (USDA), shall continue taking steps to eliminate the use of medically important classes of antibiotics for growth promotion purposes in food-producing animals.

(f) USDA, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and FDA shall strengthen coordination in common program areas, such as surveillance of antibiotic use and resistance patterns in food-producing animals, inter-species disease transmissibility, and research findings.

(g) DoD, HHS, and the VA shall review existing regulations and propose new regulations and other actions, as appropriate, to standardize the collection and sharing of antibiotic resistance data across all their healthcare settings.

Sec. 6. Strengthening National Surveillance Efforts for Resistant Bacteria.

(a) The Task Force shall ensure that the Action Plan includes procedures for creating and integrating surveillance systems and laboratory networks to provide timely, high-quality data across healthcare and agricultural settings, including detailed genomic and other information, adequate to track resistant bacteria across diverse settings. The network-integrated surveillance systems and laboratory networks shall include common information requirements, repositories for bacteria isolates and other samples, a curated genomic database, rules for access to samples and scientific data, standards for electronic health record-based reporting, data transparency, budget coordination, and international coordination.

(b) Task Force agencies shall, as appropriate, link data from Federal Government sample isolate repositories for bacteria strains to an integrated surveillance system, and, where feasible, the repositories shall enhance their sample collections and further interoperable data systems with national surveillance efforts.

(c) USDA, EPA, and FDA shall work together with stakeholders to monitor and report on changes in antibiotic use in agriculture and their impact on the environment.

(d) Task Force agencies shall, as appropriate, monitor antibiotic resistance in healthcare settings through the National Healthcare Safety Network and related systems.

Sec. 7. Preventing and Responding to Infections and Outbreaks with Antibiotic-Resistant Organisms.

(a) Task Force agencies shall, as appropriate, utilize the enhanced surveillance activities described in section 6 of this order to prevent antibiotic-resistant infections by: actively identifying and responding to antibiotic-resistant outbreaks; preventing outbreaks and transmission of antibiotic-resistant infections in healthcare, community, and agricultural settings through early detection and tracking of resistant organisms; and identifying and evaluating additional strategies in the healthcare and community settings for the effective prevention and control of antibiotic-resistant infections.

(b) Task Force agencies shall take steps to implement the measures and achieve the milestones outlined in the Strategy and Action Plan.

(c) DoD, HHS, and the VA shall review and, as appropriate, update their hospital and long-term care infectious disease protocols for identifying, isolating, and treating antibiotic-resistant bacterial infection cases.

Sec. 8. Promoting New and Next Generation Antibiotics and Diagnostics.

(a) As part of the Action Plan, the Task Force shall describe steps that agencies can take to encourage the development of new and next-generation antibacterial drugs, diagnostics, vaccines, and novel therapeutics for both the public and agricultural sectors, including steps to develop infrastructure for clinical trials and options for attracting greater private investment in the development of new antibiotics and rapid point-of-care diagnostics. Task Force agency efforts shall focus on addressing areas of unmet medical need for individuals, including those antibiotic-resistant bacteria CDC has identified as public and agricultural health threats.

(b) Together with the countermeasures it develops for biodefense threats, the Biomedical Advanced Research Development

Authority in HHS shall develop new and next-generation countermeasures that target antibiotic-resistant bacteria that present a serious or urgent threat to public health.

(c) The Public Health Emergency Medical Countermeasures Enterprise in HHS shall, as appropriate, coordinate with Task Force agencies' efforts to promote new and next-generation countermeasures to target antibiotic-resistant bacteria that present a serious or urgent threat to public health.

Sec. 9. International Cooperation.

Within 30 days of the date of this order, the Secretaries of State, USDA, and HHS shall designate representatives to engage in international action to combat antibiotic-resistant bacteria, including the development of the World Health Organization (WHO) Global Action Plan for Antimicrobial Resistance with the WHO, Member States, and other relevant organizations. The Secretaries of State, USDA, and HHS shall conduct a review of international collaboration activities and partnerships, and identify and pursue opportunities for enhanced prevention, surveillance, research and development, and policy engagement. All Task Force agencies with research and development activities related to antibiotic resistance shall, as appropriate, expand existing bilateral and multilateral scientific cooperation and research pursuant to the Action Plan.

Sec. 10. General Provisions.

(a) This order shall be implemented consistent with applicable law and subject to the availability of appropriations.

(b) Nothing in this order shall be construed to impair or otherwise affect:

(i) the authority granted by law to an executive department or agency, or the head thereof; or
(ii) the functions of the Director of the Office of Management and Budget relating to budgetary, administrative, or legislative proposals.

(c) This order is not intended to, and does not, create any right or benefit, substantive or procedural, enforceable at law or in equity by any party against the United States, its departments, agencies, or entities, its officers, employees, or agents, or any other person.

(d) Insofar as the Federal Advisory Committee Act, as amended (5 U.S.C. App.) (the "Act"), may apply to the Advisory Council, any functions of the President under the Act, except for that of reporting to the Congress, shall be performed by the Secretary in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Administrator of General Services.

#5 So far, more than 100 health workers that were on the front lines fighting the virus have ended up contracting Ebola themselves.  This is happening despite the fact that they go to extraordinary lengths to keep from getting the disease.

#7 The death rate for this current Ebola outbreak is over 50 percent, and experts say that it can kill "up to 90% of those infected".

#8 The incubation rate for Ebola ranges from two days to 21 days.

Therefore, someone can be carrying it around for up to three weeks without even knowing it.

A woman reportedly collapsed and later died on Saturday after she got off of a flight from Sierra Leone at Gatwick Airport.

#15 According to the CDC, there are 20 quarantine centers around the country that are prepared to potentially receive Ebola patients...




#16 The CDC has set up an Ebola "quarantine station" at LAX in order to help prevent the spread of the virus.

#17 The largest health emergency drill in New York City history was conducted on Friday.




#18 The federal government will begin testing an "experimental Ebola vaccine" on humans in September.

#19 We are being told that the reason why we don't have an Ebola vaccine already is due to the hesitation of the pharmaceutical industry to invest in a disease that has "only affected people in Africa".

#20 Researchers from Tulane University have been active for several years in the very same areas where this Ebola outbreak began.

One of the stated purposes of this research was to study "the future use of fever-viruses as bioweapons".

#21 According to the Ministry of Health and Sanitation in Sierra Leone, researchers from Tulane University have been asked "to stop Ebola testing during the current Ebola outbreak".

What in the world does that mean?

#22 The Navy Times says that the U.S. military has been interested in studying Ebola "as a potential biological weapon" since the 1970s...

Filoviruses like Ebola have been of interest to the Pentagon since the late 1970s, mainly because Ebola and its fellow viruses have high mortality rates — in the current outbreak, roughly 60 percent to 72 percent of those who have contracted the disease have died — and its stable nature in aerosol make it attractive as a potential biological weapon.

#23 The CDC actually owns a patent on one particular strain of the Ebola virus...

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control owns a patent on a particular strain of Ebola known as "EboBun." It's patent No. CA2741523A1 and it was awarded in 2010.

It is being reported that this is not the same strain that is currently being transmitted in Africa, but it is interesting to note nonetheless.

And why would the CDC want "ownership" of a strain of the Ebola virus in the first place?

#25 The World Health Organization has launched a 100 million dollar response plan to fight this Ebola outbreak.

Others don't seem so alarmed.

Many are attempting to play down the threat from this virus by stating that unless you "exchange bodily fluids" with someone that you don't have anything to worry about.

If that was truly the case, then how in the world have more than 100 health workers contracted the virus so far?




Health professionals that deal with Ebola take extreme precautions to keep from being exposed to the disease.

But despite those extreme measures, they are catching it too.

It is important that the strain is identified as there are 3 naturally occurring strains that are very rare and the lab made EboBun. If it happens to be the EboBun version we will know it is a bio-weapon being used and there IS most assuredly a vaccine that works somewhere.

Ebola deaths in West Africa rises to 3,338

This reported number of deaths is "up to 28 September 2014". There will be no stopping of this Ebola outbreak anytime soon.

The number of deaths caused by the Ebola virus in West Africa has risen to 3,338, the World Health Organization said.

In a statement released Wednesday, the organization said: "The total number of probable, confirmed and suspected cases in the current outbreak of Ebola virus disease in West Africa reported up to 28 September is 7,178 with 3,338 deaths."

The latest figures from the WHO record 3,696 cases and 1,998 deaths in Liberia; 2,304 cases and 622 deaths in Sierra Leone; 1,157 cases and 710 deaths in Guinea; 20 cases and eight deaths in Nigeria; and one case in Senegal.

The organization reported that 216 health workers had died as a result of infection.

Meanwhile, the WHO said there were "two promising candidate vaccines" to protect against Ebola.

Ebola is probably the best known of a class of viruses known as hemorrhagic fever viruses. In fact, Ebola virus was initially recognized in 1976. Other less known but related viral syndromes include yellow fever, dengue hemorrhagic fever, Rift Valley fever, Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever, Kyasanur Forest disease, Omsk hemorrhagic fever, hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome, Hantavirus pulmonary syndrome, Venezuelan hemorrhagic fever, Brazilian hemorrhagic fever, Argentine hemorrhagic fever, Bolivian hemorrhagic fever, and Lassa fever.

The Ebola virus infection, also known as African hemorrhagic fever, has the distinction of having the highest case-fatality rate of the viral infections noted above, ranging from 53% to 88%.

These viral hemorrhagic fever syndromes share certain clinical features. The Cecil Textbook of Medicine (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goldman's_Cecil_Medicine) notes that these diseases are characterized by capillary fragility, which translates to easy bleeding, that can frequently lead to severe shock and death.

These diseases also tend to consume and/or destroy the platelets, which play an integral role in blood clotting. The clinical presentation of these viral diseases is similar to scurvy, which is also characterized by capillary fragility and a tendency to bleed easily.




Characteristic skin lesions develop, which are actually multiple tiny areas of bleeding into the skin that surround the hair follicles. some cases even include bleeding into already healed scars.

In the classic form of scurvy that evolves very slowly from the gradual depletion of vitamin C body stores, the immune system will be sufficiently compromised for infection to claim the patient's life before the extensive hemorrhage that occurs after all vitamin C stores have been completely exhausted.

Ebola virus and the other viral hemorrhagic fevers are much more likely to cause hemorrhaging before any other fatal infection has a chance to become established. This is because the virus so rapidly and totally metabolizes and consumes all available vitamin C in the bodies of the victims that an advanced stage of scurvy is literally produced after only a few days of the disease.


The scurvy is so complete that the blood vessels generally cannot keep from hemorrhaging long enough to allow an infective complication to develop.

Also, the viral hemorrhagic fevers typically only take hold and reach epidemic proportions in those populations that would already be expected to have low body stores of vitamin C, such as is found in many of the severely malnourished Africans. In such individuals, an infecting hemorrhagic virus will often wipe out any remaining vitamin C stores before the immune systems can get the upper hand and initiate recovery.

When the vitamin C stores are rapidly depleted by large infecting doses of an aggressive virus, the immune system gets similarly depleted and compromised. However, this point is largely academic after hemorrhaging throughout the body has begun.


To date, no viral infection has been demonstrated to be resistant to the proper dosing of vitamin C as classically demonstrated by Klenner. However, not all viruses have been treated with Klenner-sized vitamin C doses, or at least the results have not been published. Ebola viral infection and the other acute viral hemorrhagic fevers appear to be diseases that fall into this category.

Because of the seemingly exceptional ability of these viruses to rapidly deplete vitamin C stores, even larger doses of vitamin C would likely be required in order to effectively reverse and eventually cure infections caused by these viruses.

Cathcart (1981), who introduced the concept of bowel tolerance to vitamin C discussed earlier, hypothesized that Ebola and the other acute viral hemorrhagic fevers may well require 500,000 mg of vitamin C daily to reach bowel tolerance! Whether this estimate is accurate, it seems clear as evidenced by the scurvy-like clinical manifestations of these infections that vitamin C dosing must be vigorous and given in extremely high doses.

If the disease seems to be winning, then even more vitamin C should be given until symptoms begin to lessen. Obviously, these are viral diseases that would absolutely require high doses of vitamin C intravenously as the initial therapy. The oral administration should begin simultaneously, but the intravenous route should not be abandoned until the clinical response is complete. Death occurs too quickly with the hemorrhagic fevers to be conservative when dosing the vitamin C.

MY COMMENT: I may not be a doctor, but I am awful good with medical topics, and this rings 100 percent true, IT IS THE MOA which if combined with some of my medical knowledge, such as the fact that Broccoli is absolutely excellent for assisting the clotting of blood, that the active component of Noni (which is in pineapple juice) is strongly anti viral, and that cures such as colloidal silver, while good for bacterial infections does nothing for viruses, combine some real knowledge with what this doctor says and it is highly probable that Ebola can be shrugged off as a mild case of scurvy.

Background

The Ebola virus causes an acute, serious illness which is often fatal if untreated. Ebola virus disease (EVD) first appeared in 1976 in 2 simultaneous outbreaks, one in Nzara, Sudan, and the other in Yambuku, Democratic Republic of Congo. The latter occurred in a village near the Ebola River, from which the disease takes its name.




The current outbreak in west Africa, (first cases notified in March 2014), is the largest and most complex Ebola outbreak since the Ebola virus was first discovered in 1976.

There have been more cases and deaths in this outbreak than all others combined.

It has also spread between countries starting in Guinea then spreading across land borders to Sierra Leone and Liberia, by air (1 traveller only) to Nigeria, and by land (1 traveller) to Senegal.

The most severely affected countries, Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia have very weak health systems, lacking human and infrastructural resources, having only recently emerged from long periods of conflict and instability.

On August 8, the WHO Director-General declared this outbreak a Public Health Emergency of International Concern.


A separate, unrelated Ebola outbreak began in Boende, Equateur, an isolated part of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The virus family Filoviridae includes 3 genera: Cuevavirus, Marburgvirus, and Ebolavirus. There are 5 species that have been identified: Zaire, Bundibugyo, Sudan, Reston and Taï Forest. The first 3, Bundibugyo ebolavirus, Zaire ebolavirus, and Sudan ebolavirus have been associated with large outbreaks in Africa. The virus causing the 2014 west African outbreak belongs to the Zaire species.



Transmission

It is thought that fruit bats of the Pteropodidae family are natural Ebola virus hosts. Ebola is introduced into the human population through close contact with the blood, secretions, organs or other bodily fluids of infected animals such as chimpanzees, gorillas, fruit bats, monkeys, forest antelope and porcupines found ill or dead or in the rainforest.

Ebola then spreads through human-to-human transmission via direct contact (through broken skin or mucous membranes) with the blood, secretions, organs or other bodily fluids of infected people, and with surfaces and materials (e.g. bedding, clothing) contaminated with these fluids.




Health-care workers have frequently been infected while treating patients with suspected or confirmed EVD. This has occurred through close contact with patients when infection control precautions are not strictly practiced.

Burial ceremonies in which mourners have direct contact with the body of the deceased person can also play a role in the transmission of Ebola.

People remain infectious as long as their blood and body fluids, including semen and breast milk, contain the virus.

Men who have recovered from the disease can still transmit the virus through their semen for up to 7 weeks after recovery from illness...

Anyone remember this, perchance?  What we have here, friends, is a case of life imitating art.

The goal is rule by fear; which again, is precisely the reason why I have been doing my best to ignore the entire Ebola issue as completely as possible.  The disease itself is not the point; the point is to whip the public up into as heightened a state of hysterical terror as is humanly possible.

There is a pattern here.  As has been said before, the War on Terror is in fact primarily a War of Terror, and it is a not a war which is being waged by Muslims against the West, as much as our governments might want us to believe that.  No; it is more truthfully a war being waged by the governments of America, Britain, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, (otherwise known as the Five Eyes, or those countries most directly under the control of the cabal) against the domestic populations of said countries.

Watch the above video again, particular the information about the actors used at Sandy Hook.  A few days ago I can remember seeing another video suggesting that these same faces are now being seen again, in connection with Ebola.  It is a stunt for the most part, and it is being run by the same people.

I don't think vitamin C deficiency explains it all, as there are other symptoms that were apparently ignored by that supposed doctor, like headaches, vomiting and diarrhoea.

Also, I don't think giving such high doses of vitamin C to someone with affected kidneys would do much help, as most of that 500,000 mg per day would be discarded by the kidneys, as the limit plasma level of 1.5 mg/dL would be easily reached. (I saw that limit on Wikipedia).

Serious vitamin C deficiency is a result of any disease that causes blood or fluid loss generally.  The body can not produce Vitamin C.  Vitamin C is water soluble and is therefore lost whenever we lose fluids - especially when ill, under the influence or exercising vigorously.

Adding vitamin C to the drip or drug regime with any fever inducing or haemorrhagic virus makes sense.  I'm not aware of anything special about Ebola in that regard.

Infuenza will kill far more people this winter than Ebola because it can be transmitted by air and is therefore much more contagious than Ebola.  Ebola is horrifying but not that serious in terms of the future of humanity whereas a more deadly flu virus could devastate the population.  I studied with a ministry of agriculture Virologist and (off the record) the government are far more concerned about cross species flu mutations than any other disease.

I find it very interesting that Ebola Marburg has broken out in Uganda. That strain was supposedly confined to a lab in Germany after its original outbreak years ago.

I hadn't really looked at Marburg as an individual virus until you mentioned it here, but it's almost as interesting (in a clinical way) as Ebola itself. I found some basic info to add to the kettle on this one.

During An Ebola Pandemic
All Of Your Rights Would Essentially Be Meaningless

If there is a major Ebola pandemic in America, all of the liberties and the freedoms that you currently enjoy would be gone.

If government officials believe that you have the virus, federal law allows them to round you up and detain you "for such time and in such manner as may be reasonably necessary."

In addition, the CDC already has the authority to quarantine healthy Americans if they reasonably believe that they may become sick.

During an outbreak, the government can force you to remain isolated in your own home, or the government may forcibly take you to a treatment facility, a tent city, a sports stadium, an old military base or a camp.




You would not have any choice in the matter.

And you would be forced to endure any medical procedure mandated by the government.  That includes shots, vaccines and the drawing of blood.

During such a scenario, you can scream about your "rights" all that you want, but it won't do any good.

In case you are tempted to think that I am making this up, I want you to read what federal law actually says.  The following is 42 U.S.C. 264(d) (http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/USCODE-2011-title42/html/USCODE-2011-title42-chap6A-subchapII-partG.htm).  I have added bold for emphasis...


(1) Regulations prescribed under this section may provide for the apprehension and examination of any individual reasonably believed to be infected with a communicable disease in a qualifying stage and

(A) to be moving or about to move from a State to another State; or

(B) to be a probable source of infection to individuals who, while infected with such disease in a qualifying stage, will be moving from a State to another State.

Such regulations may provide that if upon examination any such individual is found to be infected, he may be detained for such time and in such manner as may be reasonably necessary.

For purposes of this subsection, the term "State" includes, in addition to the several States, only the District of Columbia.

(2) For purposes of this subsection, the term "qualifying stage", with respect to a communicable disease, means that such disease—

(A) is in a communicable stage; or

(B) is in a pre-communicable stage, if the disease would be likely to cause a public health emergency if transmitted to other individuals.




In addition, as I discussed above, the CDC already has the authority to isolate people that are not sick to see if they do become sick.  The following is what the CDC website (http://www.cdc.gov/quarantine/aboutlawsregulationsquarantineisolation.html) says about this...

Quarantine is used to separate and restrict the movement of well persons who may have been exposed to a communicable disease to see if they become ill. These people may have been exposed to a disease and do not know it, or they may have the disease but do not show symptoms.

Quarantine can also help limit the spread of communicable disease.

If we could all just stay in our homes during a national Ebola emergency, that wouldn't be so bad.

But if thousands (or even millions) of cases start popping up it simply will not be possible for law enforcement authorities to monitor so many homes.

When just one family is suspected of carrying Ebola, they can be easily monitored in a "volunteer home isolation" scenario. But what happens when it's 100 families? 500? 1,000?

At that point, there aren't enough state or federal workers to keep an eye on these people, and the quarantine effort will almost certainly shift to forced relocation into quarantine camps.




Those camps will, of course, be called something nice-sounding like "Community Health Centers." No one in government or media will call them camps, even though they are camps. The word "camp" brings up echoes of "concentration camps" and the government definitely wants to avoid that association.

If one particular town or city is hit especially hard with the virus, there is a likelihood of the entire town being quarantined. No one in, no one out.

Everybody will be ordered to "shelter in place" in their own homes for at least 21 days while health workers wearing hazmat suits go door to door, identifying Ebola victims and "relocating" them to the "Community Health Centers."

If that sounds like "martial law" to you, that is because it would essentially be martial law.

Others are not so sure.



For example, on Thursday a doctor from Missouri named Gil Mobley checked in for a flight at Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport dressed in a mask, goggles, gloves, boots and a protective white jumpsuit.

On the back of the jumpsuit, he had written the following words:  "CDC is lying!"

Mobley believes that we are not being told the truth about the spread of Ebola.  And he is convinced that as Ebola continues to spread exponentially, that we will eventually "be importing clusters of Ebola on a daily basis" (http://www.ajc.com/news/news/doctor-boards-flight-in-ebola-protection-suit-to-p/nhZk8/?__federated=1)...

Mobley, a Medical College of Georgia graduate who had an overnight layover after flying to Atlanta from Guatemala on Wednesday, said that he feels that the CDC is "asleep at the wheel" when it comes to screening passengers arriving in the United States from other countries.

"Yesterday, I came through international customs at the Atlanta airport," the doctor told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "The only question they asked arriving passengers is if they had tobacco or alcohol."

Earlier on Thursday, there were reports of people being tested for Ebola in Hawaii, Kentucky and Utah.  None of those tests has produced a confirmed case of Ebola as I write this article.

Many Americans are still treating this Ebola crisis as if it was just one big joke.

But Ebola is no joking matter.

This is a very, very serious disease.

Wondering if the plan by TPTB all along was to introduce a pandemic, and the FEMA camps were built first, along with the purchase of the body bags and coffins, and then the disease was tested on Africans, and then the people are told that a man brought it back with him. This is my worst-case-scenario theory at the moment.

Radiation Symptoms

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says these are the symptoms to watch out for:

I think You failed to see that 1 and 2 are part and parcel - and I was being just a wee bit facetious with what You list in #2.  Given four patents for ebola on record, I think it is safe to say that it was manufactured.  So 4, 5 and 6 are extremely unlikely.

But maybe it was manufactured, dosed in "vaccines," all to promote Their untested vaccines which may or may not have the ebola in them.

Emergency Manager Calls Federal Ebola Response a Stand Down

Dallas Co. Sheriff's Association President Christopher Dyer said the deputies were uncomfortable with the order.

"They're very concerned," Dyer said to WFAA 8. ?"Their families are concerned. You've got to go home and tell your spouse, 'Hey, I was just inside this house where a guy had Ebola.'"

The workers who were ordered to clean the sidewalk where Duncan vomited were also not wearing protective clothing, despite the fact that Ebola spreads through bodily fluids.

And, like Duncan's apartment, officials were slow to decontaminate the ambulance which transported Duncan to the hospital, meaning that the homeless man who was transported in the ambulance after Duncan was potentially exposed to the disease.

The Obama administration also refused to ban travelers from Ebola-stricken African nations from entering the U.S., which allowed Duncan to fly to Dallas.

"The fact that [Ebola] being allowed to travel into the United States is insane and the fact that emergency operations have not been activated is insane and this is on purpose and by design," the emergency response manager stated. "There are many competent people in the CDC, the military and emergency management officers who need to blow the whistle."

If I might add something to this.....and Amaterasu, it may be worth looking more into if you're interested in finding truth by digging.

The U.S. Government DID, as a simple fact, issue requests for bids to establish medical evacuation capability/network across North Central Africa and the list of nations focused on Eastern, as I recall, but covered across to water on the other side. I wrote about it At anoTher Site quite some time back, as in a good couple years now I'd think. At the time, it was a real mystery because the US hadn't started breaking all rules yet for just doing things however it wanted, regardless of allied considerations.

The need was unspecified US operations and what I believe were the limited number of jump bases going in at that time for the great Kony hunt with his little army of blood thirsty maniacs. That spanned nations anyway, so it had some context.

Now I'm thinking back on that and may actually wander back to look that thread up again. The bidding had been on the usual Government services site that carries all of it. To consider it now, it was a real handy piece of foresight there....and one wouldn't need to lab-modify or originally make Ebola to fully exploit or (scary version) help along a spread.... Although that last part is getting into Tom Clancy novels (literally, as it happens).

There are similar symptoms to radiation sickness.  The type of blistering similar to that with Ebola would only come from very direct contact with a source of radiation though.  Normally a reddening like sunburn is what you will see.

Don't forget though, in serious cases of viral infection the immune system and other vital functions are compromised.  Although the cause is different with radiation, many symptoms are the same.

It would be worth looking at the areas of highest Ebola infection to see if there are nuclear facilities in the area if you think there is a link.

This fact directly confirms that the United States has no real cure for Ebole either. If the disease does make inroads in this country, people are going to die!!! The claimed "zero possibility" is out the window!!

The Liberian man diagnosed with Ebola last month just days after arriving in Texas has died after nearly two weeks in a Dallas hospital's isolation room, officials confirmed.

Thomas Eric Duncan, believed to be 42,  who became the first person diagnosed with the killer virus on American soil during the current pandemic, died early Wednesday after a battle that sparked a national debate on screening of visitors from West Africa, which has been ravaged by the disease. His death came a day after officials began treating him with an experimental drug and days after he had taken a dramatic turn for the worse.

Thomas Eric Duncan, a Liberian national, had been placed on a ventilator and kidney dialysis after his health declined over the weekend.

"It is with profound sadness and heartfelt disappointment that we must inform you of the death of Thomas Eric Duncan this morning at 7:51 a.m.," a spokesman from Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital said in a statement.

Mr. Duncan succumbed to an insidious disease, Ebola. He fought courageously in this battle. Our professionals, the doctors and nurses in the unit, as well as the entire Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas community, are also grieving his passing. We have offered the family our support and condolences at this difficult time," the statement said.

From what I have read over the last couple days, the new wonder drug for Ebola ran out as quick as they could use it for the couple people that ever saw any of it. What has been said about it, indicated that was an early stage intervention anyway, right? So why waste what is truly precious right now, on someone in the final terminal phase of it? I swear sometimes, our obsession with 'all for one' in doing almost anything, at near any cost to save single lives will be the end of us some day. That takes on new meaning for this I suppose.

Anyway..the stories have noted 10-20 treatment courses grown and available by January and then the same number on a monthly basis after that. As I gather, 'treatment courses' refers to the drug required for a single patient to go through the process. Ummm...reports in Liberia are counting more bodies than monthly doses projected to be produced.....on a daily basis. I am sure I don't want to ask what the cost of one of the 10-20 monthly shots at survival within a deadly epidemic are going to cost the lucky few.

....As an alternative thought? We've all been discussing things like the Executive Orders making the takeover of entire national sectors of the economy and industry possible with no more than a literal stroke of a pen over an ongoing national emergency, and we've been talking about that for years. So....what gives with 10-20 courses a MONTH as the projected total to be in the pipeline going well forward of the first batch?

If this is grown and dependent on Tobacco plants? Fine.. Smokers, go roll your own for awhile. Uncle needs to commandeer those crops for re-focus to drug producing stock. Where did you got that idea of "two horns"? Ebola has nothing that looks like two horns. ???

I always make an effort not to jump to fear mongering apocalyptic scenarios, but I do admit, this current ebola outbreak and it's coverage in the news seems like the first 30 minutes of a Zombie flick  :D

I have absolutely Biomed expertise, so I can only rely on what the experts tell me. It certainly seems like our health system is more than capable of containment. I do admit that the only reservation I have is whether all protocols at all levels of health treatment are strictly followed. The larger the containment zone gets, the statistical probability of unintentional protocol violations increases as well.

Let's take some info I have offered...  From the vid (with the lady in braids) We learn that ebola is very difficult to transmit, and that it was "weaponized."  So this scare is vastly overhyped.  Why?  We know of Agenda 21 - admitted to and in the open from the UN - that calls for a 90% reduction in population.  We see evidence that much of the footage is manufactured.  To create the illusion that there is a need for a vaccine?  That would be My guess.

From the same vid of the braided lady, We learn that no vaccine has a truly killed virus - a dead virus would not elicit any response, and once in the system, the "killed" virus, which is really merely dormant, "wakes up."  So in order to "vaccinate" against any disease (to prompt antibody creation) a live virus must be introduced.  Given that, a true pandemic can be created that kills most of Us.

Every biotech company with the capability on our planet is looking to develop a vaccine for this. American and Russian experts both, along with everyone else able to lead an effort, is doing just that. It's not altruistic, of course. I'm truly sorry you had such a rough childhood. As some here know, I had a very serious experience with a cult earlier in my own life, and it lead to a couple deaths. One of which was a person very close to me at the time. I can understand completely how that colors perceptions across a great deal afterward. 9/11 is a whole different can of worms. If you have Ebola in your cells that is proof of Ebola as per the discussion above.  Ebola RNA in any liquid has the potential to cause disease.  You can have different levels of infection but if you have it you can pass it on.

Jon Rappaport is obviously not aware of quantitative PCR which is a variation on the method I gave.  However, to confirm the presence of Ebola there is no need for quantitative PCR.  You only need to come into contact with a single RNA virus to potentially be infected so the presence of the virus is a danger.

P.S.  There is a typo in my post.  It should say Ebola is an RNA virus not RNS.

No.  It did NOT work with polio.  Polio rates were declining as nutrition and hygiene improved, and when the vaccine was introduced, there was a SPIKE in polio cases, mainly in Those vaccinated.  I presume You ate well and kept clean, had clean water, etc.

It is a myth that polio was "cured" with the polio vaccine.  (They merely renamed cases that emerged...  Watch that vid with the lady in braids.)  And meanwhile millions of Us were injected with SV40, and today have cancer because of it.

Sanitation had some impact in localized examples. Large cities, more than anything, and where sanitation really made a difference for the crowded conditions. The majority of America wasn't stacked and packed like rats in a box for hygiene to have made dramatic differences and it didn't change in enormous ways over the course of a decade or two, or in all areas equally. The numbers bear that out as well.

I was in the process of putting this all together separately when I came across this site that had charts for all three at the same time, and showing numbers consistent with public health records as well as the CDC. Go to the link for the charts, and I'll quote the explanation for what they indicate, so as not to over-do that fair use exception by taking too much.

That isn't to say I trust vaccines. I don't, and I will not take a flu shot, personally. My wife and son have theirs, but I won't. The difference is, they have compromised immune systems from unrelated conditions and a severe flu could put them among the annual mortality stats after just one bad experience. The minor risk of vaccine issues is worth it to them. I don't have those issues...so, while I had my full childhood series, I won't take these 'preventative' ones like the Flu or Shingles. They can keep ones where the illness isn't worse than a complication.

The BIG ones worked and they continue to work though. Simple science and numbers show that. Polio even proves its own point today by making a come back and directly from one of the only regions in the world to actively resist the vaccine. The Pakistani Tribal region. Go figure..and I think it's cause and effect at work in reverse of what it was in the 50's.

The Four Horsemen are currently riding, that is for sure.  I'm trying to find the image of them that someone else here used in their own thread on Ebola.

There is a secret on how to overcome at least the fear of all this doom, if not the obsession with it.  That is to remember that inevitably, you, I, and everyone else here, is going to die.  The only reason why things like Ebola hold so much fear, is because most of us maintain the illusion that if not for disease or some other catastrophe, we are going to live forever. 

We aren't.  I will admit that Ebola is not the way in which I would choose to go, of course; but the reality is that if it isn't Ebola, it is going to be something else.  If you remember that, then the fear of things like Ebola can be minimised.

Another way of putting this specific disease in perspective, is to keep in mind the fact that AFAIK, the death toll hasn't reached 5,000 yet.  That is peanuts for any plague in history.

There is NO DOOM !   :)

I know how to make biological agents.  If they want a cull there are more effective methods.

Ebola is one of the very last bio agents to choose from as a weapon, and there is a whole body of science publicly open for anyone to view on the particulars of field testing for efficacy of bio-agents. They have been tried, in variety for agent and delivery. The Japanese did this during World War II and against China. Much of it was documented and that was captured at the end of the war. So..we don't need to guess.

What They're going to use does exist.  Several of these vaccines are on the "fast track."  That means they exist.  And they are being fast tracked by Glaxo et al, and/or with the aid of Bill & Melinda.

I'd like to give my opinion if you don't mind.

I believe we can trust the statements he gives during press conferences, yes. He most definitely treads lightly and doesn't emphasize on absolutely anything.

Example: "the virus can only be spread through direct contact with an infected subjects bodily fluids"

When you have air around you (and you're not in the shower or pool) you're still in direct contact with water. It's water vapor present in our atmosphere.

I certainly wouldn't want to be around a legitimately sick patient. Not even within 10 feet. A cough or sneeze could carry undetectable (to us) infected fluid. The last place you want that crap coming into contact with is your EYE.

But he's not lying, he's simply concise.

Taking that into account, I can see how this current Ebola "scare" is shaping
up. There is a far larger political agenda in the current "scare" than meets
the eye. Frieden and Bloomberg have been working together for a long while,
and still are in this "mixed bag". Bloomberg is head over the Agenda21 Cities,
and Frieden is on record saying that the problem of Ebola in Africa needs to
be solved for the worlds sake.

Yet, with such small fatality numbers, The U.S. has been largely disinterested
in throwing money at a vaccine. ( Until now funny how that worked eh? )

Surely, some of the hype surrounding this current "scare" is politically motivated,

I think you have a point, and there might be a cause to actually question the validity of what we've been told. From that number....maybe not so much though. Its hard to say, for certain. Right?

What isn't so hard to say though is the number 1. Just 1. That is what I've been waiting to see. A very specific 1 of those people being watched with absolute confirmed close contact exposure.....or what, in Africa, seems to be the kiss of death in listening to the first person accounts within the impacted nations.

That 1 is the girlfriend to the NYC doctor who went and had a night on the town before turning himself in as infectious and contagious with Ebola. Many people feared wide spread exposure from his foolishness...and with good reason. (based on what we've been told for many years now). His girlfriend was with him, sitting next to him and presumably, not trying to keep 3 feet min. safe distance.

Anyone heard how her case of Ebola is doing? ...oh...she hasn't been reported as having one, some may note? Indeed....to my knowledge, she hasn't, either.

As one TV host put it immediately after the doctor and the circumstances were known? If that woman DOES NOT become infected with text book close contact? Someone has some explaining to do....

Purported intentional creation

These theories generally attribute HIV's origin to the US government or its contractors.

1) Jakob Segal (1911–1995), a professor at Humboldt University in then-East Germany, proposed that HIV was engineered at a U.S. military laboratory at Fort Detrick, by splicing together two other viruses, Visna and HTLV-1. 3) In Behold a Pale Horse (1991), radio broadcaster and author Milton William Cooper (1943–2001) proposed that AIDS was the result of a conspiracy to decrease the populations of blacks, Hispanics, and homosexuals.

4) In 2000 South Africa's Minister of Health Manto Tshabalala-Msimang received criticism for distributing the chapter from Cooper's book discussing this theory to senior South African government officials. 5) The dentist and entrepreneur Leonard G. Horowitz, author of the self-published works Emerging Viruses: AIDS & Ebola. Nature, Accident or Intentional? 6) The Nation of Islam endorses the view that governments and pharmaceutical companies have pursued genocidal racist policies including the creation and spread of HIV. We have been working on ebola for biowarfare purposes since about 1977 and continuously. We have aerosolized ebola at Fort Detrick, a telltale sign of weaponization.  We have also weaponized anthrax too. And the Russians and the Americans are keeping smallpox alive for weaponization purposes as well. The USA has at least two biowarfare weapons that I know of: ebola and anthrax.  And they very well could have more. We have spent $79 billion since 9/11 on developing biowarfare weapons, billions before that, and we continue to spend billions on weaponzing more of them.

If  there were different "jumps" then we should have seen a pattern of "jumping" ebola outbreaks continuously over time and space from Zaire in 1976 to West Africa in 2013. There is no such pattern. That's 3500 kilometers and no "jumping" ebola outbreaks.

5. Now to the Science article: "Phylogenetic comparison to all 20 genomes from earlier outbreaks suggests that the 2014 West African virus likely spread from central Africa within the past decade. Rooting the phylogeny using divergence from other ebolavirus genomes is problematic ...."

Once again, if it spread from central Africa within the past decade, we would have seen the "spread" of Ebola outbreaks during the past decade as it made its way to West Africa. We have not. And notice right out at  the outset they admit their basic methodology here is "problematic." That is precisely correct. The entire study they admit themselves is "problematic." It sure is "problematic" Basically the  US biowarriors at Kenema are covering their own rear ends. That's the problematique of this "study"—cover-up

6. "[correcting 21 likely sequencing errors in the latter ...]"

This is absolute utter bull-twaddle right there. Notice they admit that they are "fixing" their results right there. No question about it: Correcting. Yeah, correcting to produce the results that they wanted in order to cover up this entire matter.

They admit right here at the beginning of the study that they fixed the results and that their methodology is "problematic". The rest is pure and utter bull-twaddle based upon fixed results and a problematic methodology. It would be a waste of my time to continue analyzing an article based upon admittedly fixed results with an admittedly "problematic" methodology.

Ebola death toll rises to 4,950 - WHO

GENEVA (Reuters) - The death toll from the Ebola epidemic has risen to 4,950 out of 13,241 cases in the three worst-hit countries of West Africa, the World Health Organization (WHO) said on Friday, calling for widespread rigorous control measures to halt the virus.

"Case incidence is declining in some districts in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone, while steep rises persist in other districts," the United Nations agency said in a statement with its latest figures to Nov. 4.

I posted the above on November 8, 2014. There still seems to be reason to assume that the Ebola subject has pretty much been stopped/banned on the general public news, except for a dying doctor here or there. So, I took the time to research a little, and what I found is:

Geneva, Dec 16: The World Health Organisation (WHO) has confirmed that 6,841 people have been killed by the Ebola virus disease so far since its outbreak. 'A total of 18,464 confirmed, suspected cases of Ebola virus disease (EVD) have been reported in five affected countries (Guinea, Liberia, Mali, Sierra Leone, and the US) and three previously affected countries (Nigeria, Senegal and Spain) as of Dec 14. There have been 6,841 reported deaths,' the WHO's report said Monday.

Well, I guess since the latest number only represents an increase of 38% (1,891) in total Ebola deaths during the past month, it must not be newsworthy!! Also, it should be noted that "suspected cases" has risen in total number by 5,223 (39%) during the same period.

World Health Organization reports 7,905 Ebola deaths

BERLIN (AP) — The World Health Organization says the number of reported Ebola deaths in West Africa has risen to 7,905.

The WHO says altogether some 20,206 cases of Ebola virus disease have been reported since the outbreak in December 2013.

Yep, i guess the fact that we are hearing next to nothing about about the continued progress of this deadly disease must mean that someone just prayed and...........it just went away!! ??

As a matter of fact, there is a news article released January 18, 2015 that that says the disease is just "fading away" in Liberia! And facilities that the USA sset up are without patients.  :o

There's only one thing missing from this state-of-the-art Ebola treatment center: Ebola patients.

The U.S. military sent about 3,000 troops to West Africa to build centers like this one in recent months. They were intended as a crucial safeguard against an epidemic that flared in unpredictable, deadly waves. But as the outbreak fades in Liberia, it has become clear that the disease had already drastically subsided before the first American centers were completed. Several of the U.S.-built units haven't seen a single patient infected with Ebola.

It now appears that the alarming epidemiological predictions that in large part prompted the U.S. aid effort here were far too bleak. Although future flare-ups of the disease are possible, the near-empty Ebola centers tell the story of an aggressive American military and civilian response that occurred too late to help the bulk of the more than 8,300 Liberians who became infected. Last week, even as international aid organizations built yet more Ebola centers, there was an average of less than one new case reported in Liberia per day.
