I pondered putting this here...decided I needed the catharsis.
This is what I discovered today trying to log on to...that OTHER board.
What is/ was the reason behind your banning? Just because you're on this forum??
Understand, first, I was there since 2006 and was a "silver" contributor.
First I got post-banned for linking to a thread of Mine about electrogravitics...
Then I got post-banned for suggesting a search parameter to find My work - "spamming..."
I asked how I might keep My work from being buried there - didn't get an answer, just got told basically I was a megalomaniac. I said (in U2U) that if I couldn't repeat My information, couldn't link to it, and couldn't suggest how to find the information, ATS was a waste of My time. "Bye," I said.
I did not try to go back until yesterday - and discovered I was permabanned.
Why? You got Me.
Just me.... but could it be your passion for the word
" electrogravitic" ??? ;)
QuoteJust me.... but could it be your passion for the word
" electrogravitic" ??? ;)
Possibly :P
ATS is back up had to get a password reset myself. Still no explanation of what happened.
Looking at the posts though... if the internet were to shut down for a week, the world would end
LOL Maybe THAT is the disaster for 2012 :D
QuoteWhy? You got Me.
About all you can do is write Springer and ask.
But the "banned from ATS' list is a very very long list. Most of the people I knew that were fun to talk with there are gone. Mostly the hard core skeptics remain and a hoard of Twitter heads :P
Linking to facebook, twitter and google plus may generate traffic, but you lose your identity in the noise
I just try to offer a solution and get banned for doing so. [shrug]
Yeah, zorg, I'm not going to bother. If I repeat the information, I'm "spamming," if I link to a thread with the info, I'm "spamming," if I suggest search parameters, I'm "spamming." So My work there is buried. [shrug]
I can't even mention My petition (and no, didn't mention it even in U2U's - T&C, don't ya know).
So... I move on.
To MUCH greener pastures. [smile]
I just made a post in the board thread in response to someone who thought they were banned with that mess last night.
I posted that banned picture you saw and said if you were banned you would know because you would see this...
Well a few minutes later my post has this...
::)
In another recent thread a new member made a thread about this;
"Origin of Ancient Jade Tool Baffles Scientists"
The article originally is from Live Science, but the link was from this site
http://www.sott.net/articles/show/240676-Origin-of-Ancient-Jade-Tool-Baffles-Scientists
Apparently that site is one of the ones that is on ATS's bad list (I never hear of this one before) So what happens is that ATS Robots spot the link and then automatically delete the post and replace it with this
(http://www.thelivingmoon.com/Vault/ATS/tag_002.jpg)
First time I ever saw that one :o And the same with many others because that thread suddenly went wild and everyone forgot about the topic. Those banners do nothing but distract. A simple edit to a proper link would have solved the drama issue instead of escalated it.
Here is the thread for anyone wanting to have a look at the mess;
Origin of Ancient Jade Tool Baffles Scientists (http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread805529/pg1)
The topic is cool and I will post it in Ancient Civilizations later today
QuoteMy advice, stay away from there.
I second that advice..
After the last few days it is time to avoid the place. Something is going down. We are discussing it in Mod Chat right now...
ATS explanation thread of their hack by what appears to be Anonymous was just DELETED about an hour ago. People were already concerned over the password issue... this will likely cause a meltdown
More info coming as soon as I sort it out
BTW one of the tags I showed from ATS had a tracker hidden in it. I changes it using a screen saver version. More than one way to skin a cat :D
Dirty pool that... especially since THIS area is open to view by guests :o
QuoteLol, Zorgon, your an old spook site junkie (LOL) from way back. I dunno how you managed all these years over there. I know you like the thrill of madness but, come on, your in a new time and different place. But thats you.
Simple old friend...
1) I have a LOT of my work over there that never got put on the website and I need to move some more of it
2) It was THE place that gave me all my real time contacts just by my being there. That now has changed so it is no longer an issue
3) It is good to have a presence behind front lines as it were
4) having my own website gives me a defensive tool :D
QuoteSott.net is Ark & laura knight jadczyk arch rival of the cointel crowd spook site. Ya, there's bad blood there allright.
Thanks for that Information is power :D
But yeah time to break old habits is upon me ;)
Also considering making the entire forum "No Guest Viewing... must join"
Thoughts everyone?
Zorg...
They are getting more and more brazen. One of the friends I made who eventually became a Mod said that He stays away from things there mostly because "thing are...changing."
Indeed!
Back when I started, I was encouraged. I was allowed to link My threads. But I guess My awareness expanded beyond Their comfort zone, and now I am to be silenced. There, at any rate.

Leaving under a perma-ban is the best thing you could do in life, from that spook place. ...
My advice, stay away from there.
Thanks, Gigas. I seem to remember You from way back. Yeah, I'm not emailing that addy They offer. Not going to give Them the satisfaction. Just gone from there. Period.
It's better here. As in night and day! We will reap the cream of the crop!
Seems its confirmed ATS was hacked...
Stay tuned for updates... I can't post all I know openly yet..
We don't need and "Imperial Entanglements" :D
Bated breath, zorg. Bated breath.
Bout time someone dropped one on them.
Another place as deeply nefarious is that god like productions. I never saw a nuttier place than that. They ban people for no reason at all.
Seems If I can recall something I came across long ago and that was Alpha Tango Spookz and amcon and glp were tied in with the spook site. I had found the same activity at all three where they place 0 gif tracking beacons on logins.
I stay away from amcon, the spook site and GLP since being perma banned last year over that friggin telescope thing. They posted a thread showing the new fangled contraption videoing the moon. I notice the shadows were wrong as well as the movement of the moon. It was going right to left when it should have been left to right. The moon vid was rotated 180, thus backwards. BAM!, I get perma banned.
OK, I confess, I drop into glp to read the "I am the real John Lear" thread. But I refuse to post. Ya have to admire that John Lear for all the BS he gets from the assassins.
Open Minds, ATS, AmKon and Serpo... toss in Bill Ryan to the mix and a few others... it was quite a feud from what I have seen in archives. The wounds were deep, seems some never healed.
Can't they all just get along?
::)
Most of that happened just before my time... I caught the tail end of it. A lot was still flying around when Reality Unlimited was created as a haven for the baddies banned from ATS. You can still see it there under Serpo and ATS bashing threads without logging in
As to the current issue
Seems someone claiming to be Anonymous hacked the user files via a third party client, their new video hosting site. This allowed the to gain access to a portion of the passwords, user names and emails.
That file was then posted on a website with the first 70 names and passwords in the post. The passwords however were encrypted so didn't show the actual password. The big file with 8.5 K members was posted to download.
That has since been removed for violation
Here is the site
QuoteAbovetopsecret.com SQLI!
Credit goes to the_c0br4 for finding this sqli vuln.
This database is really huge, 70 accounts just there, and it isn't even past number 1. LOL

Over 8.5k Users, Passwords and Emails.
http://pastebin.com/fxcVKbn0QuoteFile Removed for Violation.
The file you requested has been removed from MediaFire for a violation of our Terms of Service or our Acceptable Use Policy
So how long this was out there and how many downloaded it was unknown... best course of action was to dump all passwords and have everyone request new passwords as a precaution.
The problem with Anonymous is anyone can put on a mask and make a claim. ATS for the most part has supported their cause, so it makes no sense.
Biggest issue was people with old emails who never updated them. They had no way to get a new password. A point to remember :D
That "Banned" graphic from ATS rawks! About all the praise I'll give at this point, however. It's kinda love/hate with me over there for a few different reasons at the moment.
I appreciate, but there's also things that "resonate." Down low in my GUT like a hyper-active sonar blip.
Here's a question that I would LOVE an answer to: Does anyone know what happened to Dimensional Detective? I truly worry about him and I'm sure that's a partial reason for my sonar wackiness.
If anyone were a candidate for a "black-bag job" that ballsy cat was. But I guess it's possible his wife demanded more time or he just got bored with sticking it in tha' man's face or he got in a cat-fight with a mod or sumpin'. I guess.
I'd really, really like to know...
I am unsure what happened to DD. I was sorely missing Him, though, there towards the end. I think zorg said He vanished March 11 - same day as Fukushima...
I hope someOne else has a clue. I would love Him to join Us here!

Couple of other issues
Somamech told me vi Skype last night that banks had reported email hacks as well I have NOT had time yet to search on that
My wife had her Yahoo email hacked and spam sent out from her account. On top of that she noticed that Yahoo mail is now AUTOMATICALLY ADDING every outgoing mail you send to your Yahoo friends list.
That list is now being shared with Facebook, Twitter Goggle and others. I am with earthlink but I am going to check if they share any lists I don't think so but this is getting insane
Okay this is getting SERIOUS I just spotted this a few minutes ago
Anonymous Hacks CIA WebsiteQuote"CIA TANGO DOWN" reads an Anonymous-affiliated Twitter account. It's military-speak for eliminating a hostile force that has infilitrated hacker circles as an announcement of a successful attack.
CIA.gov was taken down Friday afternoon, and Anonymous hackers seem to be taking credit for the latest in a series of high-profile internet attacks that have included the FBI, Foxconn, the State of Alabama, the Boston Police, the Oakland Police, and many more.
The CIA probably doesn't store much classified information on its website, but even symbolic attacks like this continue to give the impression that Anonymous is running unchecked.
Tensions have been running high between law enforcement and hacker groups due to the controversy concerning controversial copyright legislation such as SOPA, PIPA, TPP and ACTA, as well as crackdowns on Occupy protests. The new year has been an especially volatile time in what seems to be an escalating war for the internet, and there aren't any signs that either side will be relenting any time soon.

Now I haz more poop on them though ;)
Puthoff is the Mad Genius of "alternative" just about everything. ;) If we could just figure out what he exactly believes these days that would be fascinating.
There's actually a video interview on youtube that's pretty revealing and impressive. And yeah, he's apparently dissociated himself from Scientology but I believe he reached "Clear" before that.
On topic, I knew those Anonymouses either stank from the beginning or were perfect fall rats either way.

I was on the list and received the email
After reading the email I tried to find more info on the subject at ATS and what is interesting is that all the discussions relating to this (I saw 3) seem to be disappearing. The mod links in the only thread left are returning the ATS 404 page. So I emailed the staff for more info as the thread is closed.

QuoteOn topic, I knew those Anonymouses either stank from the beginning or were perfect fall rats either way.
Well from my point of view it COULD be Anonymous...or it could be someone pretending to be anonymous, either a rogue or an actual government agent trying to discredit Anon. Since they have no identity anyone can put on a mask and say they are anonymous
Now what I did find puzzling is that the moment the word came out that Anonymous was possibly behind it (it led right to someone claiming to be) ATS 404ed the thread on the topic... How weird...
But since both Burntheships and I were online at the time, seems our cache still had the pages and thus we were able to screen capture the important comments :D
QuoteThat ATS banner...it kills me, lmbo still. ;D but I didn't fully get what the problem could be by following the links. It went over my head what the beef was??That ATS banner...it kills me, lmbo still.
There is a few more cute banners at ATS... I will post a snap later for some more giggles. On this thing... it seems the new Media Portal that ATS created had a back door that wasn't locked, allowing someone to snatch and grab some files with user name password and email account. The password were encrypted so would be worthless to anyone, but user name and email... I use Zorgon a lot, but my email is published just about everywhere so I really don't care. I have a very good spam filter :D
This file was then uploaded to several places... since demanded to be removed wherever ATS found it. Damage control done as best as possible. I don't really see a problem beyond maybe seeing some spam.
What does concern me is the fact that it happened days before it was discovered Jan 28 or 29 I believe and it happened to a big guy like ATS.
It Also happened to the CIA who had their system shut down and a few other places. Now that was scary especially since my internet went down the same night from about midnight to some time in the morning. Then when I get on to the forum I see a white page (corrupt theme file, PM's saying the attachments were all gone and 250 plus pages of error messages...
The same people? Don't know but Anonymous took credit for the CIA ones and the other big ones mentioned in that post back a few.
The one involved was the guy with that nickname juzzy... Burntheships tracked down a lot of aliases like juzzy123 and that member at ATS juzzylfc who joined on Jan 28th.
Now LFC is Liverpool Football Club... and the hacker activity appeared to originate from Sweden...
Well surprise surprise.... what are the chances?
Liverpool FC ISC Swedish Branch (http://liverpoolfc.nu/)
Personally I think that ATS dumped that thread because they are afraid Anonymous might not be happy :P but that is just me ;) I do however believe that things like that should not be deleted without explanation... just makes for more conspiracy and mistrust
(http://files.abovetopsecret.com/images/member/648fbcbec804.jpg)
Hope that helps clear it up. Obviously I don't have any inside info from ATS (unless ArMaP has more to share without getting in hot water) All this was found via our friend Google.... err well sorta friend :P
Quote from: ArMaP on February 12, 2012, 02:16:39 AM

Ah missed this so the passwords were actually cracked? The list i saw they were still encrypted. That is a big difference :o
There is another issue that Burntheships has been digging into...
Many here will remember Boondock Saint at ATS... I knew he was banned along with Protoplasmic Traveller and a few others (Dimensional Detective no trace since the Tsunami... just hoping that isn't why he is MIA :( )
Well I have a lot of details posted in the Mod area to go over and verify but this much is certain;

A computer hacker known as the "Jester" who calls himself a "hacktivist for good" is taking credit for temporarily taking down the WikiLeaks website.
WikiLeaks.org came under a distributed-denial-of-service (DDoS) attack on Sunday shortly before it began releasing the first batch of some 250,000 US diplomatic cables.
The "Jester," a hacker who has targeted extremist websites in the past, claimed responsibility for the cyberattack on WikiLeaks in a message on his Twitter feed, @th3j35t3r.
"www.wikileaks.org – TANGO DOWN – for attempting to endanger the lives of our troops, 'other assets' & foreign relations #wikileaks #fail," the message from "Jester" said.

Re Pegasus
1) Policy on Forums
After a long discussion in admin, it is 100% unanimous that we will NOT tolerate any bashing of ATS or any other forum. Discussing facts and passing true information is fine, that is sharing data. But we have no desire, nor will the mods tolerate any vendettas or smear campaigns. I know some people have had bad times at many forums. Please fell free to share your story in the members intro area and then lets move forward and make this place fun and about sharing real info.
I figured this was the best spot to post this because heck, who EVER reads the T&C right?
::):
Now I know none of you in this room are guilty :P but I expect new people will find this thread soon enough... so tell your story, state your beef and lets move on :D Not everyone at Alpha Tango Spook is all bad :P
2) February the Tenth - The Day From Hell
Right after the shutdown at ATS, that evening my internet went down around midnight for a few hours. When I got up in the morning and logged into the forum, I saw that the theme files had been corrupted. So naturally the first thought was OH NO!!! HACKED OF CRAP...
Then I see my PM's and peoples avatars and attachments went POOF... I get into the error logs and see 250 plus pages of error messages all dated Feb 10th 2012.
I have spent the time till now figuring it all out. Only one thing left to track but that can wait a bit
So... Reset the default forum files (that we don't use but seem to affect the theme and the forum came back up (whew)
The Attachments... seems that one user was uploading a bunch but the folder had a low default limit. When the folder was full, the server automatically created a new folder to take the overflow
Unfortunately the forum can only see one folder at a time. So when the server switched to the new folder, all the old ones vanished. They were still there on the server, but as the files are encrypted they can only be viewed through the forum.
So all the files are there, but I have to figure out how to separate the avatars from the attachments.
It may require everyone reloading their avatars once,, but I will let you know I SHOULD be able to move them
It seems attachments are a bad idea... to easy to mess up and lose data and they get erased after an expiry time of 180 days Pictures should be pasted into the posts. I am working on our own gallery. In fact its already loaded but not activated yet
Now the "Hell" part. 250 plus pages of error messages all generated on February the 10th. We spent all day tracing urls... the biggest one was IP 66.249.71.247 30 pages of errors generated in a short time hitting pages that are part of the software but not used in this configuration
Who are they?
General IP Information
IP: 66.249.71.247
Decimal: 1123633143
Hostname: crawl-66-249-71-247.googlebot.com
ISP: Google
Organization: Google
http://whatismyipaddress.com/ip/66.249.71.247#General-IP-Information
At the same time Google was pounding on the door, several other search engines did as well. Don't know why they all hit the same day.
One from Germany and even from China
180.76.5.62 10 hits Feb 10th
180.76.6.36 10 hits Feb 10th
180.76.6.233 10 hits Feb 10th
China Beijing Beijing Baidu Netcom Science And Technology Co. Ltd
http://whois.domaintools.com/180.76.5.62
http://www.baidu.com/ China's google
So all these hits, plus the full directory being switched by the server just caused a mess that coincidently happened the same day as the ATS and CIA attacks
I spent time talking to tech support and they found no evidence of outside intrusion... all the error codes were generated by Globat in response to searches on pages not in use
So folkes... the world knows we are here now :D
The last issue has to do with guests attempting to view certain pages. I had some forms set to allow guests to view. Right now I have set 90% of them that only members can view. That means to see our stuff you have to join, simple as that
Most of those 250 pages came via guest access including the google bot
So we were not hacked... just overloaded. No data was lost, just sleep and nerves :-X
And I know know what a few more buttons do and available tools :D
One last thing before I pass out :P
I have a LONG list of interesting people I have been waiting to invite here. There are already several real insiders on the forum now. I expect we will see many more in the months to come. Some of these people you already know, some will be new, and some will be a surprise.
One thing is certain, these will be names not readily heard on the UFO circuit ;)
The forum is now also backed up in a mirror site (I will have to remember to manually update that one) so worst case if something happens, we lose only the posts and new signups after the last save time.
So don't be like ATSers and scream The Sky is Falling if we are down... give it time to get back up and log back in... Crap Happens and with the hackers gone wild... anything can happen

Well, Well! Nice too see you all here!
As for these events taking place, during the times of said encryption data being not only rotated and indistinguishably preserved as data encryption mumbo-jumbo, I feel it would feasibly be worthy too take note of an event of rather uncannily that has been taking place since January 18th 2012.
I am a Representative for a company that has internal access to pretty much any and all financial institutions that are currently preparing taxes for literally millions of folks during the tax season here in the USA.
During this time of around the January 18th 2012 date, there was a severe glitch with the IRS Data base and the system was locked out for some days, approx. 4 days. We were informed of there being some kind of "Entity" Error that had taken place and we (The company I work for) were all locked out of divulging account information or Direct Deposits that were set to their personal Card information. These kind of thing's are not common as for to lock us completely out of account info for such a period of time.
Myself, being inquisitive of this matter and aware of the power of the hackers have at their disposal asked my Senior Financial adviser behind closed doors "Are the funds safe for all the people getting their tax returns and receiving their returns via E-file for direct deposit and if there is any indication that any of these financial branches had been directly effected?" Needless to say, the conversation was dropped and there was nothing more brought up until January 28th-29th when I was informed that the IRS had inadvertently made multiple payments to thousands of tax return recipients and then informed my company that if we should encounter such inquiries too advise the tax recipient that if they had spent the funds that were incorrectly allotted to their accounts that they would be fully responsible for such funds being replenished (regardless of financial consideration) and that the returns must be made IRS Audit able and reflect for many returns to come depending on amounts spent by the Tax recipients that had received these payments incorrectly for the 2011 fiscal year.
Then, as of February 9th-10th, we were once again completely locked out of client account info again. With the correspondence of what was taking place with all of these hacking scenario's, and I know my job, I once again made inquiry, and there was yet another "No Reply" rebuttal for any of these thing's being either acceptable or "Internal" as far as the IRS was concerned.
We have to continually reset our PW and User ID's every time we have to access an account for information pertaining to these card holders accounts.
Though I don't know what the ramification's are for sharing this information about the USA tax return glitch, I do know that with the information provided via the post, it does seem conspicuous to me to have such associated dates and times for these events to be rather "Uncanny" too say the least.
Here's an example of what I am talking about (This is a hypothetical example:No real info):
Jane Doe gets $1500.00 for her return. Approximate wait time for e-returns 7-10 bs days for Direct Deposit of their funds. The funds clear and the Jane Doe who once had a return of $1500.00 now has an account balance of $7552.00 Jane Doe spends most/pr all of the proceeds and is now currently held liable for the incorrect transaction, gets audited from the IRS and also has crippled his/hers financial freedom and is subject to garnishments and fines procured by said glitch.
This essentially means Jane Doe has inadvertently defrauded the US Gov. for thousands of dollars and is held responsible for both paying back and reporting such activities with in their perspective accounts.
Their accounts are then frozen, they are put under investigation and they are charged penalties and fees associated with the occurrence of the transaction and will be held permanently responsible for procuring and spending of funds that were not theirs too acquire.
There are a lot of angry people right now with a specific Tax preparing company, but for reason's of legality, I can not make mention to them due to my relationship to said propitiatory venues.
Though I don't know if this even really pertains to the suggestions of web bots, Hacking or down right identity theft, it is rather odd these dates coincide uniquely and evidently of these thing's taking place via IT hacking issues. Keep in mind, there was "NO" indication to me or anyone else that the IRS was hacked, but literally 10's of thousands are currently being affected with this dilemma.
"Pure Coincidence?" I think not with what was said thus far on our web site.

What are You getting when You sign in (or try to) with the new password? I am officially banned and if I sign in, I can't see any thread (everything comes back 404ed), and if I try to log out, I get that lovely pic in the OP I posted.
I doubt it has to do with signing My petition...but One never knows with spooks involved.

AboveTopSecret.com recently discovered that the user names, encrypted passwords, and email addresses of a small percentage of users who used the ATS Media Portal were obtained by hackers. Where we have learned that this information was posted on publicly accessible websites, we are taking all reasonable steps to request removal of such information.
If you visit AboveTopSecret.com again, you will be asked to change your password because, unfortunately, you were one of the affected users. Please note that ATS never requests or stores your name or financially sensitive information, and such information was not obtained by the hackers. In addition, ATS automatically changed your password and the passwords of other affected users immediately upon discovering the incident. Your password is no longer operational, which is why you will need to use our password recovery system to generate a new random password to log in. For your additional security, the ATS Media Portal has been taken offline temporarily.
In light of this incident, as well as incidents that may have affected other websites, please take basic precautions if you receive suspicious email. ATS does not email any ATS users who have not opted into our newsletter service. An email claiming to be from us asking for anything is fake. And in general, if you get an email that asks for personal or financial information, or a user name and password from any source, you should never reply. To be clear, under no circumstances will any legitimate ATS representative ever ask you to disclose your password, nor will an ATS representative send you any emails requesting anything. Your password for any website should be strong, which means passwords should be at least 8 digits or longer and include upper and lower case letters and numbers.

I don't have anything to add, and, as usual, I only talk about information that is (or at least was) publicly accessible.
What I know I read on the original thread where the situation was reported and from where I got to the pastebin page with the 70 names list and the link for the (working at the time) download of the real list.
Quote from: zorgon on February 12, 2012, 10:57:50 AM
Ah missed this so the passwords were actually cracked? The list i saw they were still encrypted. That is a big difference :o
In some cases the passwords had already been decrypted even before they were known. :D
The passwords were encrypted with a MD5 hash function (probably the same used by this forum's software), that turns any text into a large number, usually represented in hexadecimal. As there is no way of knowing the original text from the resulting hash, only the brute force method (a method in which a hash is created for all possibilities until we get a hash that's the same as the original) works, but it's too time consuming for longer texts and texts that use capital letters, numbers and symbols (that's why we should have long passwords with lower and upper case, and preferably also with numbers and symbols), so some sites present long lists of already decrypted hashes, to make it easier to find an already decrypted one (a commonly used password like '12345678' is already on those lists) instead of spending some time decrypting it.
When I went looking for the hashes I found some old lists that already had some passwords (someone had already decrypted those and published them), and that happened with some of the passwords on the list, like Amaterasu's. But some hashes had been decrypted on January 30, so someone did decrypted them, but, apparently, did not use them.
Anyone that has the long list (like myself :) ) can decrypt those passwords, it's just a matter of time. As an example, a program I have that decrypts MD5 hashes takes 8 hours to try all the possibilities of an 8 characters string of lower case letters, 8 days if I add upper case letters, and one year if I add the 10 digits from 0 to 9.

Hi ArMaP,
I guess this question should really be directed at me as I am the one asking for more information. I have not had a reply from ATS and I am not really expecting one.
This is the information I am looking for and would like some answers to.
- My email address is linked to my user account - This means that a mapping between user account and email adress is available on the internet to those that had access to the files. A huge breach of privacy. What changes will you make that will fix this in case this happens again? Are there any types of work trying to ensure this would not happen. (I doubt this very much).
- I already have problems with the way ATS runs its business which keeps me at bay from expressing my true opinions on their site. I do not trust the owners when they say they respect opinions but have double standards. Is this a conspiracy? If not, create a thread please. Oh, it might affect your sponsored income? Fine, say nothing and that is what I will end up thinking?
Amaterasu is correct in saying that nothing will come of my email, they did not respond.
With my information if I chose to be anonymous in my discussion and I wished it to stay that way, its my way of expressing myself without bias allowing the same for my opponents in that discussion.
- If they were truly hacked, where is the media fury and following acts of dissent? Where is the outrage? Where is the I want to fight Anonymous for their wrong doing thread?
- I do not appreciate that my data has been exposed and that those responsible do not have anything other to show or tell but a forum thread that you cannot reply to that is identical to the email I received. I have logged out of the site and will not log back in until some answers have been made.
I am disappointed in this act that is avoiding any discussion on the topic.

What would be the point of such a thread? It is impossible to lay the blame with "anonymous". Anyone can claim they speak for anonymous and claim they did it. Anyone can also actually do it and try to fit anonymous up. The whole thing is becoming a joke.
I understand why you do not like it when ATS refuse to allow discussion of a topic but pretend to believe in free speech. Unless you are slandering the site then all discussion should be fair play in in opinion. My guess is that the reason is that ATS admin want their members to forget this little episode as quickly as possible....
Note: As a moderator, can I remind members that we DO NOT want this site to turn into a lets go bash ATS area. If you have legitimate concerns then air them by all means. However, we do not encourage the constant bashing of other sites on the Pegasus Forum.

I am not bashing ATS, lets get that clear. I have known the site for many years long before my last subscription and yes I have had my problems with it but have mostly kept it to myself. But, when it comes to my privacy with no explanation then sorry... I have a problem and the reason I am posting relates to this thread and also the Zorgon thread relating to Conspiracy sites and Anonymous.

"If"? Why, do you think they published their own passwords on purpose? And why "media fury"? Outrage? For what, it's just some passwords and email addresses, most people did not use an email address that identifies them when they registered.
Quote- I do not appreciate that my data has been exposed and that those responsible do not have anything other to show or tell but a forum thread that you cannot reply to that is identical to the email I received. Wait a little more, as I am doing, what's the rush? There was a need to rush to remove the file from Mediafire (I think it was), as it had 8369 user names and passwords (but only 8368 email addresses, it looks like the dumping of the information was not complete) and even the smaller, 70 names list (I think) where most names were from moderators. Now, there is no rush in talking about it, just on find a way to prevent it from happening in the future.
Thanks ArMap for answering my questions. I will start off by saying I have a lot of respect for you from ATS. You are top notch as we say down here.
QuoteI don't understand what you mean by that or if that is a question.
You are correct that its not a question but really a lead up to my... may I say paranoia? Trust is earned is what I have been taught and that it is a two way street.
Apologies if you might see that as a rant because it kind of was.
Quote"If"? Why, do you think they published their own passwords on purpose? And why "media fury"? Outrage? For what, it's just some passwords and email addresses, most people did not use an email address that identifies them when they registered.
Well, I did not get a chance to see the file and I do not know what information has been given out and who may have used it and I have no idea what implications this might have for me. This is my concern.
QuoteWait a little more, as I am doing, what's the rush?
There is no rush and all this is already forgotten. When I have enough iinformation that will make me feel better about it all then I will log in as per normal. Right now, I am uncomfortable.
