A big problem with these Future FEMA Feverish Fascist dreams are the people needed to carry it out.

Many US military and police are right wing, pro-gun and skeptical of big government. This is why I dismissed thoughts of martial law under Obama - unless he wanted to be their servant.  This ain't Germany in the 1930's with Nazis moving everyone into neat conformity. I'd say the future is more likely to be some sort of dissolution of the Federal government.

If the US gets hit with a depression and some sort of military disaster, it may break up like the USSR. We could even get a Constitutional Convention to ratify this, if things become unmanageable.
