Most people like phones because they allow them to keep in touch with other people, while people like me don't like phones because they allow other people to take control of the way I spend my time.

One of the biggest problems I'm having right now is that while I want to continue to live, the way the world is changing, is creating a scenario where viably living here is becoming more and more difficult.  I've had suicidal ideation at times in the past, but over the last week or so it has happened every 1-2 days.  The one thing that is holding me back, more than anything else, is that I really don't have a method of doing it available at the moment, which I think is probably a very good thing.

One thing that shows how people are connected to their phones is how they accept failures from their phones that they do not accept on computers, they have much more patience for phone problems than they have for problems with other equipment.

This is a good example of the level of popular stupidity which, among other things, is fuelling my current suicidal inclinations.  More than anything else, I am tired of humanity.  If I could live in genuine isolation, I would be a lot happier.

I heard that version a long time after knowing of the existence of the virus, the first version I heard was that it probably came from an infected animal in a "wet market".
Iran and Italy were not the second and third countries to be affected by the virus.

The problem with humanity is that, like in other things, the bad gets more noticed than the good, so we get to see and ear about all that stupidity (specially on Facebook and other like it, that only allow positive comments), while the good goes unnoticed.

Why?

This document can serve as an introduction.  It is a comparitive analysis of Microsoft's and the open source development methodology, and it provides a great illustration of Microsoft's core, repeated modus operandi.

Putting it simply, Gates is a parasitic psychopath, and a quintessential example of the very worst and most destructive characteristics of Friedmanite corporate Capitalism.  Every cent of his fortune has come from the theft and marketing of software which he either extremely cheaply paid for, or outright stole; and Microsoft never fail to poison the well after they have taken what they want, either.  The companies they have targetted do not merely have their inventions stolen; they are either acquired or destroyed via abuse of the legal system as well.

Microsoft have held back technological advancement for the sake of their own gain, to a degree that I can hardly even begin to imagine.  For a certain period of time, Linux distributions were able to continue regardless; but then Microsoft and Intel introduced the UEFI replacement for the PC BIOS, which effectively means that only operating systems with certifications from either of those two companies, can run natively on PC hardware.

Microsoft have also employed various other tricks so that the majority of modern hardware requires software drivers which will only function under Windows.  In the past, it was far more common for different peripherals (modems, disk drives etc) to have their own physical processor, which allowed them to be operating system agnostic.

I should also point out, that I am only talking here about what Gates has done with regards to business.  There have been numerous allegations regarding paedophilia, and using his supposed philanthropy as a cover for the eugenicist sterilisation of African populations as well.
