ATS HA ATS, whilst i would not be here if it was not for meeting key members there i wont be off back for any long periods of time like the old days. its been reduced to a smelting pot of poorly informed newbies (facebook twitter??) just bickering away.

I find the place depressing. And it's full of the 3 letter folks imo.
i do pop in but i live here.
I agree, stealthy, after I was informed about a thread someone had posted that I may want to read, I found the site to be a conglomeration of haves versus has beens, and couldnt find any balance there at all mentally or physically!LOL!
Its a shame I couldnt find the thread he spoke of amongst the quagmire of media wannabeisms there is there, so why bother?
If theres a subject worthy of wise, concise discussion, it will be presented on Pegasus and melded into the one mind we truly are here, not trolling or facebooking, but real honest debate and acceptance for all theories.
Thank goodness they showed their true colors there, PWM, and Amy, anyone who bans you for any reason, doesnt exist in my universe.

Hows that podcast idea coming along, Luke? I think we have our first guest right here!!!:D
Cheers!

Mornin' stealthy!
Ive also spent decades turning the wrenches for free, and have many good friends to show for it!
When I did do it for a living, it wasnt the same, as there was a stipulation of time and money involved that placed the whole idea on an island where I couldnt get back from.
I can rebuild a 350 from memory, and do it with a happy heart, but if it's for someone who is employing me..the passion isnt there.:(
Maybe soon these skills and talents we have will gain weight in the big picture, when our leaders in their big houses cant seem to feed their families and start coming to us for their necessities.
Of course they wont get much help from me, but they will see the importance of eliminating money, as they wont be able to even buy a vowel with their paper crap.
a-e-i-oh no, theyre doomed!
Eat well now, PTB, soon youll be dying of starvation while we grow and build a new paradigm of balance and goodwill among all of mankind, that you wont be able to charge or pay for!
Blessed be the barterer!

Its a good thing that barter is coming back because thats how I operate almost entirely. And George is pretty darned good at it too..... He worked for a few hours helping a friend with a mechanical problem this fellow had had for months... remaining unsolved..... George fixed it in four hours.... the man....a roofer.... said that he would have NEVER been able to get it fixed.... so next weekend we finish the section of roof that we have needed .... with his help for the entire day..... and he is happy to do it. Not a dime changed hands and everybody came out ahead......

And lets see.... My horseshoer was able to give his wife the quality Yorkie that she has always dreamed of ( made him a HERO in his household...) and I don't have to worry about shoeing for my horses for at least two years. He is a happy camper and so am I.

But when cash does come in our direction it goes quickly out.... called investing in our own neighborhood economy.

And things are getting better around here. More contractors picking up big corporate jobs.... and that all filters downhill. So..... how are things in YOUR neighborhood?   Linda

Littleenki

You mean..whats in your wallet? LOL!
It is a system of eternal usefulness, the barter, and as art show folks, we have a beautiful selection of unique art here at home, and many nice fellow artisits are wearing our jewelry to boot!
Ive saved so much money throught the years fixing stuff for people, I have a backlog of help to draw from!
We may need to employ this system soon, and we, on this and other forums, are eons ahead of that as we are aware of it's possible need!
My mantra...Chlorine, Guns, and Honey! Bees, get us out of this!
To the tune of this classic,

Cheers!

MY neighbourhood is the UK Linda and things are very bad if you need the income from a job that you probably hate to do to get by.
even the polish people are leaving to find work.I'm lucky being multi skilled and not being the materialistic person i was years ago.
I help those who need it for free when i can,BUT you cannot help a person who cannot help himself! even the basics. the youth of today have zero skills and don't wish to learn as there happy living off the government for free.In some case's they cannot help it that's all they know,There 3rd generation benefit seekers.
There are still some people with morals but family/company standards went out the window a long time ago. It's 99% work through "Agency's" and to me that sucks, your just a replaceable No in the system.  ::) being in the north is not to bad compared with some of the poor cities in the west yorks area but things could be better.

Ok, I see a lot of talk about "barter."  If We have free energy and robots doing the necessary work no One WANTS to do...  ANY form of "money" will be unnecessary - from barter, trade, and work exchange to shells, beads, coins, bills, electronic funds...or anything else material.  BUT...

For appreciation, thanks, lauds, reputation, status, love, and Self satisfaction...  We WILL do things.  NOT because We HAVE to, but because We WANT to.  The currency becomes a social one.  Gone will be the motives to behave poorly to "get ahead."  Poor behavior will earn One pariahhood and nothing more.  The only things that will enrich One will be thoughtfulness, helpfulness, caring, kindness, and efforts to BETTER things for ALL.

And sure, there may be some of the, "Hey!  I have this lovely painting I did.  I'll give it to You in exchange for that gorgeous necklace You made."  But mostly, We will just give such objects to those who show extreme appreciation.  That will be Our heartwarming payment.
"If the universe is made of mostly Dark Energy...can We use it to run Our cars?"

"If You want peace, take the profit out of war."

Well it's not the 3 letter folks that are the problem... some of my best info comes from those agencies and there are already several of 'them' here :D

One has to learn to separate the good agents from the bad. ATS is also a three letter agency :P

ETA: and just who are their 'agents' anyway???

THAT is a VERY good question ;)  I have some ideas on that, but don't think it wise to post that  :o

Hey, PWM is a 3 letter agency!LOL!
I dont worry about the bad guys, as they will show themselves if they are out to get ya!
Unless we live in a faraday cage, we are all suspect, and thats ok, as we need to know bad if we are to define the good.

The human race needs to advance a LOT more before that could even begin to happen.  90%ish of humans are lazy by nature and if everything was free and done for them they would simply do nothing.

Communist Russia is proof of this and the main reason that communism fails. There was zero incentive to do better, so no one wanted to work harder to create something or improve something. There was no drive or incentive to invent things...

A few people would run with it and use the freedom to advantage... but the majority of humanity would turn into lazy bums.  Even Star Trek covered that with the Holodeck addiction

You want ME to organise it??

Oh sh...... but i could just possibly, i can do a podcast allright, and dump it on my own music channel LOL
First i will have to install a free telephone-via-internet system like Skype, and i will need you to call in that number at a specified time (and also have Skype of course). I can do a simple intro, hit pause, and wait for the phone to ring.
That session can be recorded, converted to MP3, & dumped on my Music site.
And it has to be free, as long as you have internet ( i assume you do LOL) because it's all about the 'freedom' part of 'free' energy.
I would loved to have posted this on that other site, but the above explanations say it all.
We certainly don't want it going public just yet, and we don't want it trolled to death before it gets going...
By the way, there was some bad language in that podcast, i trust we will avoid that in ours!
( I think the mods missed that one)
And, Dave, if i did a podcast, You, Amy, & Linda would be my first guests.

Sometimes, i just whish everyone had a Yaesu....Thats Shortwave R/T for you older folks!

Good thing i read the thread again before posting, Linda :)

Exactly! That's part of the 'turning it around' that has to happen.
Why do i have to wear jeans that have been trucked from Scotland to Poland, back to Scotland for the label, and ended up in the middle of Europe on my butt?
What a waste of energy!
We can all make our own jeans? At least somebody in the community will, and they will have no shortage of anything :)
And so it can be with the rest of us, ALL of us has something they are really good at, even if they be Agent,Troll or Sceptic......
(sorry, couldn't resist that)

Hi Zorg, how's things?
There's a lot of great folks over there still, but trying to find their posts in the tumult of juvenile posting is getting boring.
And you are right, we won't speculate on other forums, it's not polite. By all means make fun of 'em now & again :)

I guess you have a point there, but people can't afford to be lazy bums, not just yet.
There's nothing wrong with the work ethic per se, everyone will want to work if they learn that they directly benefit from it, physically, socially, and so on.
And yes, i often work for free or for some favour, and it's just another little drop of human sweat in the machine of life.
First the environment will have to change, before the people do.
Certainly there is no shortage of volunteers, look at all those poor lost souls on YooToob & elsewhere, looking for a way out.
Eventually they will gravitate to sites like ATS, or maybe even here. And they can ask their questions, and we can all help them to find answers, and they will bring their own special knoweledge/skills along too, like Deuem et al.

Ok maybe we will make but a small dent in this failing machine, but it will fail whether we dent it or not :) We should be building the new machine, not keep trying to keep the old one going..
I know that sounds a bit Communist, but i'm not into any kind of 'ism as you all know by now;)
Cool thread this, BTW
