I drink Paul Masson Brandy, it's delicious and brandy you drink the most should be the best.  Paul Masson Brandy is sensibly priced at a dollar a jug.  The more I drink the better it is.

I do not recommend Clan MacGregor Scotch, that is the one in the green plastic bottle on the bottom shelf.

Agreed, it should be used for paint brush cleaning only!

Clan McKenzie clansmans badge.  I'm a McKenzie. :)

If you can afford it and get your hands on a bottle (only 3000 made and 600 were made available for retail) then try this one.  It might be tough to get on your side of the pond.  I intend to get my butt to Ross and try some soon. ;)

QuoteAccording to The Dalmore's master distiller Richard Paterson, the brand owner is hoping to raise a seven figure sum in the next 10 years to help protect the family's place in Scottish history.

Paterson said: "Whether you are a Mackenzie or not, with only 3,000 bottles available globally, this is your chance to own a little piece of Scottish history.

"I have been nurturing casks at The Dalmore and monitoring their progress for some four decades. The challenge to craft a whisky fit for the Earl and all Mackenzies was an inspiration. I am proud to be able to help the clan by creating a whisky with a regal heritage and one which is truly fit for a king, as well as a Clan Chief."

You can see the Clan Chief below at the unveiling of this very special drink.  Behind him is 'Fury of the stag', by Benjamin West.  I have also posted the painting itself below.

QuoteAlexander III of Scotland was out hunting with Colin Fitzgerald, founder of the Clan. The King was attacked by a stag and saved by Fitzgerald who killed the stag by spearing the beast through the forehead. In gratitude Alexander granted Fitzgerald the lands of Kintail in Ross and the McKenzie armorial bearings show a stag bleeding from the forehead.

Once every few years, the peaty taste of this exceptional, Scottish Single Islay Malt crosses my lips:

Though it's been 14 months since I've indulged, my own little tradition is to have another fine beverage of Scotland when completing artwork; "Aye, if it's not Scottish, it's crap!" 8)

18 year old Laphroag....  It's a bit smoky for me if I remember that one.  Is that the really smoky one?

ETA:  Absinth!  Now that stuff is deadly lol.  I have a business idea that I could import the finest British spirits to US and Australia.  You do seem to appreciate our booze. :D

Yes, very smoky, after a night your sleeves will linger of smoke! Definitely an acquired taste.

Hi Slayer, long time no see ;)

I like anything i've never tried, anything with 'glen' in the name is pretty good, like Grant, Fiddich,Talloch LOL
I avoid the cheaper blends & that awful bourbon stuff, McDiesel i call it....

Ever tried Dalwhinnie?
Like a honey-wrapped sledgehammer to the taste buds... ::)

'Bullet Trace'? Dave, you're kidding me :) Does it have lead in it?
QuoteYou bas-tahd! Share, Share!

Can we teleport yet?
Yes, but only one photon at a time, so it will add at least another 20 years to the age of the whiskey ;) being the time needed to re-assemble it......

Ooh remote tasting, goody!

Wow that sure beats my god Bacchus hands down Z!
LOL
(takes a sip of the plain Glen Talloch)

Laphroag? Reeeely smokey, it's like drinking burning peat, not a fan of it myself...

I've met a few McKenzies, fighters they were, like the McLeans LOL
Having read some of your history, i can understand why they all hate the Campbells.....

As for Ale....I like this stuff....Can't find it around here anymore (East Coast USA).The bourbon must come from the French in me...3/4 Scots though.....
