A51, the people within the military that I commented were key international 'movers and shakers, and were embedded in 'alternative ideolog'y.
My comments on 'who do their actions serve' does not relate to the majority of the military force - who are for all intents and purposes, pawns in the game.

In my experience with the military.... I see THREE types

1) The Grunts.  Those who follow orders to the letter, never think for themselves and might kill you for suggesting that the Government did 9/11. They cannot conceive such audacity

2) The Top Dogs that are intent on keeping everything secret, even when there is no need to. It is simply a power move. You won't even get them to tell you if they had one or two coffees that morning

3) The Sane ones: These are the ones that become true whistle blowers albeit VERY rarely will they be clear and to the point in public. Why? because the Top Dogs and the Grunts will likely kill them  :P

So they leak out info and hope that the right people will pick up on it and follow it through. They drop key words and hints, point you to where to look and give you a hint of what to look for.  This may not seem a lot but having the right terminology and location of info is extremely useful.  You cannot find answers if you don't know what you are looking for

For years since I started at ATS I have been contacted by those in the 3rd group. Not so much anymore since Pegasus became an Opera House... but still I have a foot in the door with the REAL secret astronaut program.

I am still considering how to best use that resource.

Looking around at people posts... most have already made up their mind.  Perhaps it will be best that I use him (from 21SOPS) on the website only and do a proper presentation like I used to

Zorgons presented the line of thought of which 'you guys' in turn seem to be turning a blind 'eye'.

Zorgon also has another question...

Conspiracy people are alway on about how the governments of the world are covering up UFO research  yet a glance at the world scene shows that most governments are in fact shutting down any such programs (except France who maintains a team of four people)

Why the French state has a team of UFO hunters.

The MoD closed theirs in 2009 putting debunker Nick Pope out of work  :P

UK closed UFO desk after 50yrs and no 'potential threat'

The British government finally shut down a special unit investigating UFO sightings after more than 50 years as it was a drain on resources and not a single report ever revealed " a potential threat to the United Kingdom," newly released government files showed Friday.
The Ministry of Defence (MoD) closed a hotline and an email address to which sightings of Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs) could be reported in 2009, saying at the time that "no UFO report has revealed any evidence of a potential threat to the United Kingdom".

My current take on all this is we had some major visitations in the late 40's, got reallt heavy in the 50's and started petering out in the 60's

After that any UFOs that were unknown craft were black ops, either reverse engineered or our own offshoots. The change from the classic disc type to the triangles to me indicates we took the drive technology and added our own design

The rest of the sightings of glowing orbs and lights and fuzzy blobs are in my opinion CRITTERS And since critter do no harm they truly are no threat to any military organization

UFO watching the ISS?  Why? The ISS and operations are pretty boring and have been doing the same thing for decades.  More likely this is a CRITTER like all the other "plasma Phenomena" that NASA has been watching since the late 60's

UFO shutting down Nuclear Missiles?

No not really. It was the old failsafe mechanisms that triggered a cascade of events because of the EM field generated by a curious CRITTER  Back in those days our electronic equipment did not have sophisticated EMP protection... so the glowing orbs those guys saw tripped the sensors which triggered an auto shut down

Now image the military mind of the day... realizing that all their fancy nukes could be shut down by a little bit of 'ball lightning' with a min of its own. And there were still unsure at the time what 'Foo Fighters' were and who owned them... be it Russians, Germans or Little Green Men in little glowing spaceships that behave the same way as CRITTERS

Z, your comment on Green to Grey aliens had me curious when you first mentioned it last week!

I've just moved house, so I've not inputted as much as I'd like.

My mind is not currently 'made up' (all I know is that I do not know), although I have been testing and re-enforcing some theories quite strongly for a number of reasons - some of which being the 'reaction' here at PRC.

Interesting to say the least.

Although I am quite fond of Lyn Picketts hypothesis, which seems to embrace many others.

Many are what Z refers to as 'Critters', still little is understood about these.

You may find the NASA and others have studied this phenomenal in some depth, as it has been found
as Z has said, our technologies are at times affected by 'Critters' activity !

There are believed by Scientists, to be thousands of 'Species' still to be discovered in our oceans,
as well as on land.

One of the strange species which has been known about for many years are 'electric eels'.

Some have the ability to kill humans ! And have reported to do so !

Some of these eels are very large.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electric_eel
QuoteThe electric eel (Electrophorus electricus) is an electric fish, and the only species in its genus.

It is capable of generating powerful electric shocks of up to 650 volts, which it uses for hunting,
self-defense and communicating with fellow eels.

It is an apex predator in its South American range. Despite its name, it is not an eel,
but rather a knifefish.

So 'Critters' may well harvest 'Energy', and exist in our upper atmosphere and in space.

We consume the dirt which has been converted to plants, as do many species, which is then mutated
through DNA & RNA (Chemical based Programs) to produce our bodies, as well as harvesting 'Energy'
from this food !

Hell we still know very little about the 'human species', let alone other species.

Added text ....

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electric_eel

Bionics
QuoteResearchers at Yale University and the National Institute of Standards and Technology argue artificial cells
could be built that not only replicate the electrical behavior of electric eel cells, but also improve on them.

Artificial versions of the eel's electricity-generating cells could be developed as a power source
for medical implants and other microscopic devices.

The Matrix Traveller

There are many other species which can also deliver an electric shock !

http://www.electricshock.org/electric-animals.html

QuoteMan's fascination with electricity began long before Benjamin Franklin flew his fabled kite
in the lightning storm.

For hundreds of years, people have admired and coveted this natural power, seeking to create it,
harness it, or control it.

While modern technology would lead us to believe that we have mastered these lofty goals,
the disheartening fact remains that Mother Nature has beaten us to it.

Within the animal kingdom, there are literally hundreds and hundreds of electric animals, common
and obscure, which are just simply shocking!

Other Electric Animals:

While stingrays, eels and catfish are the most widely known animals with electrical capabilities,
there are many, many more. Over 500 different creatures harbor the ability to create an electrical shock.

Elephant fishes, bonytongues, and stargazers are all fish with various degrees of electrical power.

Many fish use electric fields as a navigational tool, similar to the electric catfish.

Most electric users are aquatic.

One legendary beast, however, is decidedly not aquatic.

The Mongolian Death Worm is said to be a large worm in the Gobi dessert that possesses either acid
or electricity as a means of attack.

While there is no concrete evidence that the Death Worm exists, it is almost universally accepted
and described by natives of the desert. It is another great mystery of electrical animals.

Glow-in-the-dark cats

QuoteIn 2007, South Korean scientists altered a cat's DNA to make it glow in the dark
and then took that DNA and cloned other cats from it — creating a set of fluffy, fluorescent felines.

Here's how they did it:

The researchers took skin cells from Turkish Angora female cats and used a virus to insert
genetic instructions for making red fluorescent protein.

Then they put the gene-altered nuclei into the eggs for cloning, and the cloned embryos
were implanted back into the donor cats — making the cats the surrogate mothers for their own clones.

What's the point of creating a pet that doubles as a nightlight?

Scientists say the ability to engineer animals with fluorescent proteins will enable them to artificially
create animals with human genetic diseases.

Take a closer look at what happens to these kitties when the lights go out:

QuoteBioluminescence is the production and emission of light by a living organism.

Bioluminescence occurs widely in marine vertebrates and invertebrates, as well as in some fungi,
microorganisms including some bioluminescent bacteria and terrestrial invertebrates such as fireflies.

Bioluminescence in some animals is produced by symbiotic organisms.

QuoteIn the 1893 article "Man of the Year Million", H. G. Wells envisaged humanity transformed into a race of grey-skinned beings, stunted and with big heads. (Compare the Morlocks of Wells's 1895 novel, The Time Machine, who appear greyish-white and large-eyed, but hairy.) In his 1901 book The First Men in the Moon, Wells described Selenites (natives of the Moon) as having grey skin, big heads, large black eyes and wasp-stings. He also briefly describes aliens resembling Greys brought down to Earth as food by the Martian antagonists of his 1898 novel The War of the Worlds.

But they still feel green in heart :(

May 19 1947 - Augusta Chronicle (Georgia) 11:00 A.M. EST (July 6 edition)
The Oregonian (Portland) (July 6 edition)

Beaufort, South Carolina - Augusta physician, Dr. Golden R. Battey, spotted four discs while fishing in St. Helena Sound near Beaufort.

Battey stressed how bright they looked and related that the craft traveled at an altitude of more than 20,000 feet in a southeasterly direction.
He said they were spinning on their axes with a circular rim around their lower quarter as they silently moved by in less than twenty seconds at great speed.

Flying Saucer Story Grows

Kelso, Washington - Mrs. Jerry Neels said she saw some "bright and shiny" discs south of Kelso on the 20th.

June 20 - Kelso, Washington - OREGONIAN (Portland) 6/28 edition

Mrs. Jerry Nuels said she saw some flying discs south of Kelso last Friday.

She said that they were "bright and shiny."

July 6 Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Daily Enterprise, July 7 edition

...Phillips said that at least nine of the 'saucers' [appeared] in a space of fifteen minutes. Both men said the discs were flying at such a tremendous rate of speed that they were unable to get a good look at them. They tried unsuccessfully to clock them once when one flashed by.

Phillips turned the plane to get a better look at it, but it had disappeared by the time the plane came around. Phillips said the discs varied in size of a small plane up to a large transport. He said they looked saucer shaped with the front tilted up.

He said they were definitely made of metal, since they glistened like silver in the sun.

They appeared to be revolving, he said. Barbarick said that it gave you a feeling "like someone was shooting flak at you."

Witnesses Mr. Cantrell and Mr. Pepper report that a large shiny silver ball hovered for several minutes over a mountain in Clayton, and then zoomed away.

June 27 - Tintown, Arizona - 10:30 A.M. MST (9:30amPST)

John A. Petsche, an electrical worker, and another person independently witnessed a disc-shaped object, which seemed to land near Tintown, Arizona.

The disc had a mirror-like surface.

An Oregon woman, Mrs. Sidney Smith and her daughter Joanne, reported seeing an alternately shining flying saucer heading southeast at high speed.

June 29 - White Sands, New Mexico - 1:30 P.M. MST - EVENING STAR (Washington, DC) 7/9 edition

Saucer Seen By Rocket Expert, Flight Over Desert Described

Three naval research scientists involved in guided missile development were all in a car headed northeast down Route 17 to the White Sands proving grounds to examine a launching site for a July 3rd V-2 test, when they had their attention drawn upward by a flash.

All three men, and Curtis Rockwood's wife who was in the car, observed "a silvery disc whirling through the unclouded sky."

John Kauke was driving and became so overwhelmed by the site that he stopped the car.

They then estimated the disc's altitude between 8,000 and 10,000 feet and were especially attracted by its bright surface.

They agreed its shape appeared elliptical and flat.

Dr. Zohn, a well-known rocket expert, stated that the object did not look like any rocket he had ever seen and that it could not have been a balloon.

(Dr. C.J. Zohn reported their observation to Army Intelligence with supporting testimony from fellow scientists Curtis C. Rockwood and John R. Kauke.

June 30 - Astoria, Oregon - 12:45 P.M. PST - ASTORIAN BUDGET (Oregon) 7/1 edition

An extremely bright disc-shaped object maneuvered over the Annex for 15 minutes.

It then flew north toward the Columbia River.

A local welder saw the disc—it being so bright he noticed it through his dark welding glasses.

Then other observers saw the objects and their concern led to phone calls to the Army at Fort Stevens and the Coast Guard at Port Adams.

Officials from those facilities, however, stated that they had noted no unusual activity.

June 30 - Astoria, Oregon - 12:45 P.M. PST - OREGON JOURNAL (Portland) 7/2 edition

Flying Disk Reported Above Fort Stevens

"There is a flying disk right now over Fort Stevens," Mrs. Earl Seado, housewife residing in the Fort Stevens annex, said Monday at 1 p.m., when she called an Astoria newspaper office. She was asked to chart its course.

Mrs. Seado said it was heading across Fort Stevens in a northern direction and that it had been visible for 15 minutes, even when the sun was not shining.

It was dazzling bright and saucer-shaped.

Everybody in the annex saw it." ...Mrs. Seado was asked to call another of the witnesses, preferably a man, to the phone...

A man did come but said, "I won't give you my name. I don't want the same thing to happen to me that happened to the first man who said he saw a disk."

The man said he was a welder and had looked at the disk through the welder's goggles because it was so bright.

He said that he was not certain whether the disk was reflected light or some physical object but it was blinding bright.

In contrast to Mrs. Seado, the welder said that he could not make out the direction taken by the disks because the "clouds were moving so fast."

The reporter receiving the two reports rushed the call to Fort Stevens and was answered by a calm, drowsy voice which reported that no official report had reached the headquarters of flying disks. Fort Stevens, he reported, was intact. He did not refer the call to the commanding officer.

A second call made to the Coast Guard, was answered by an alert man on the switchboard who reported that no disks had been reported. He stepped outside and saw none.

June 30 - Spokane, Washington - Afternoon PST - OREGON JOURNAL (Portland) 7/2

(AP) —— During the afternoon two independent reports of a disc-like object seen over the city were made, one by a sheriff's officer.

John Mourning, county night jailer, submitted an official report to the sheriff's office describing his observation of  "a bright, shiny object coming from the west," and flying at an altitude above that of most planes.

The object "appeared to be round," and had no wings or apparent means of propulsion.

Mourning said he had heard no motor sound, and declared that "jet planes are very slow in comparison to what I saw."

David Allen, 18, reported that he, too, had seen an object during the afternoon.

While he was washing windows in the downtown area, he saw something that "looked like a silver dollar, and was going very fast."

June 30 1947 - Hailey, Idaho - 2:30 P.M. MST - BOISE DAILY STATESMAN (Idaho) 7/3 edition

Several observers reported seeing a flight of objects pass over between Hailey toward Galena Summit.

Walter Nicholson said he saw "eight to ten" of the objects fly over in a V-formation, going in a northwest direction over Galena Summit. He said the left wing, or leg, of the formation contained five disc-shaped objects in perfect line, but the ones in the right leg "seemed to waver," and he was uncertain as to exactly how many there were.

The objects were "extremely bright and moved -very- fast."

Hunter Nelson, a forest ranger said he saw seven to nine of the discs.

He was marking timber about three miles from Galena Summit, when he saw the V-formation of objects flying directly overhead, at an estimated altitude of 10,000 feet above the 8,000 foot summit he was on.

He said "it took the objects but a few seconds" to pass out of view.

(Both recalled a momentary change of formation when the right wing began to swing forward but then fell back into line. The spacing between each of the objects was estimated as four to five diameters by Nicholson. He told McDonald that they maintained approximately uniform spacing at all times in a rather rigid manner. No flutter or swerving was seen.

Both emphasized the high speed of the objects, "much faster than any aircraft of that day.")

Dr. and Mrs. C.K. Gunn with two friends saw a strange luminous object traveling at great speed high in the sky.

Dr. Charles K. Gunn, animal ecologist and head of an experimental fox farm in Summerside, was driving with his wife along a highway at North Bedeque at an unspecified time during the day. With the Gunns were friends of theirs, Mr. Roland Phillipson, who was manager of the Maritime Prices and Trade Board in Summerside, and his daughter, Anne.

Miss Phillipson was the first to notice a bright object moving rapidly across the sky, and she called it to the attention of the others.

Dr. Gunn stopped the car and reported later that they had observed the object "quite plainly."

Mr. Phillipson described it as "a shapeless object that glistened and gleamed in the bright sunlight."

Mrs. Gunn said that it appeared like "a large star as it traveled across the clear blue sky."

Dr. Gunn reported that the object made no noise and did not resemble an airplane. It was visible for about 30 seconds before it disappeared to the south.

All the witnesses said they were sure they had seen "something unusual" and could find no explanation for what it might have been.

July 2 - DeKalb, Texas - Sunset CST - LITTLE ROCK GAZETTE - Texarkana, 7/3

City and county officials in the Texarkana area began an investigation of reports that numerous residents had seen UFOs in the vicinity of the Texas-Arkansas state line.

One of the first sightings was made by Wendell L. Carson, a farmer near DeKalb, at sunset. Carson reported that he and his small son watched "dumbfounded" as a disc swooped noiselessly across his tomato patch at an altitude of 100 feet.

In his report, made the next day, Carson described the disc as "roundish," and said it shone like "a mirror reflecting the sun."

He said that it had been flying "very fast," and added that he would have reported it sooner but was convinced he and his son must have been seeing things, until he heard of other reports in the area.

Another DeKalb witness, Mrs. S. G. Nichols, reported independently that she had seen a disc glide over her home at about the same time as Carson's observation.

Eight 'Flying Saucers' Reported Down on Idaho Mountain"

-Air Search Scheduled For Region
-Flights continue To Be Observed Over Wide Area
-Extreme Speed Reported

Eight luminous discs were reported by Mrs. Walter Johnson and her family while she was visiting her parents.

The sighting occurred at 6:30 P.M. PST when her father Ben Beeman had alerted the whole family to "come out of the house quick!"

As they all ran outdoors the family of at least nine saw eight to nine large objects flying from the south in a scattered formation.

Mrs. Johnson said they approached very fast and soon became silhouetted against a nearby mountainside.

Mrs. Johnson later told the press that "suddenly they stopped in mid-air, then started again. When they reached a point over a clearing in the timber, they stopped again and settled down a few at a time until they were out of sight.

The mysterious part was that we could see them flutter down into the timber, and yet we couldn't see that they did anything to the trees."

She went, on stating that they looked thicker than discs—actually more like washtubs but as big as a "five room house."

She said they glittered like a mirror in the sunlight, but that the sun was apparently obscured by overcast.

Over a half dozen neighbors also witnessed this sight.

Mrs. Walter Johnson, of  Dishman, Washington, a Spokane suburb, reported that she and her family had been visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Beeman, of Butler's Bay, on the St. Joe River in northern Idaho, after having spent a few days camping in the area.

About 6:30 p.m. PST, on the 3rd, Ben Beeman, who had been working in his garden, suddenly "shouted for us to come outside of. the house," Mrs. Johnson reported.

When they had come out, at least nine members of the family, including Mrs. Johnson's sister and a niece, saw nine large objects (some counted only eight) flying out of
the southern sky in a loose formation.

"With that mountainside as a background, we saw the saucers come in very fast, slow down jerkily, then flutter to the ground like leaves," she told the press, several days later.

"The objects made no sound, Mrs. Johnson said. "Suddenly they stopped in mid-air, then started again. When they reached a point over a clearing in the timber, they stopped again and settled down a few at a time until they were out of sight.

The mysterious part was that we could see them flutter down into the timber, and yet we couldn't see that they did anything to the trees."

The objects, thicker than discs and looking more like washtubs, were described by Mrs. Johnson as being "about the size of a five-room house."

They glittered with the brilliance of a mirror in the sunlight, but "they must have given off the light themselves, because the sun itself was not visible."

"The area where they went down was several miles away," Mrs. Johnson explained, and darkness prevented any search for the objects that evening.

July 4 - Portland, OR - 2:00 P.M. PST - LOS ANGELES HERALD-EXPRESS (California) 7/5

Numerous Portland citizens reported sightings.

1:00 P.M. - KOIN radio station employee, Frank Cooley, a former Marine Corps observer, confirmed numerous disc sightings around Portland throughout the day. He and many of his co-workers saw disc-shaped objects from the windows of the International News Service office in the Journal building.

Cooley, as stated, saw a formation of twelve discs himself as high as 20,000 feet at 1:00 P.M.

He declared that they were "operated and maneuverable devices," indicating that the objects were larger than many believed.

He continued: "They plainly experienced maneuvers in the sky. . . At one time a number of the discs would get into formation and fly circles around another disc.

It was hard to follow their behavior exactly because of the great height, their gleaming surface and their nature."

He said that they could only be seen clearly when "tilted to catch the sun's rays."

He was convinced, he added, that the discs were operated either "by some human or remote control."

At approximately the same time that Cooley made his observation, a number of similar objects were seen from the windows of the International News Service office in the Journal Building.

INS employees said that "at first they appeared to be high-flying birds, as their motion undulated, (as if) some kind of wings propelled them," INS reported.

"They banked sharply and without apparent system of direction."

Two objects were so high that reports of their disc-like appearance could not be verified, but they seemed to move with high speed.

They were last seen heading south after circling sharply over the west-side area."

At 2:00 P.M. "metallic discs glinting in the sunlight" were seen across the Williamette River near the Ross Island bridge.

Picnickers and a woman pilot saw silvery "spinning discs."

Clark County Sheriff's Deputy Fred Krives,
Deputy Clarence McKay,
Sgt. John Sullivan,

Harbor Patrolmen A. T. Austad and K. C. Hoff,
Portland Police Officers Earl J. Patterson,
Walter A. Lissy and Robert Ellis,
Oregon Highway Patrol Sgt. Claude Cross,

and many others over a wide area, for 30-90 seconds saw 5 large discs moving at high speed to the E, 2 flying S and 3 to the E, with oscillating or wobbling motion, sudden 90° turns or zigzagging.

Radio reports alerted other officers who saw the objects, aluminum or chromium color, disc or hubcap or pie-pan or half-moon shape flashing in the sun, no vapor trail, no noise (except possible humming), some at 10,000-40,000 ft others at about 1,000 ft.

McDowell noticed pigeons reacted. Sullivan, McKay and Krives noted low humming sound and reported 20-30 objects. Cooley reported 12 discs at about 20,000 ft.

Patterson, Lissy and Ellis were pilots.

2:00 P.M. "metallic discs glinting in the sunlight" were seen across the Williamette River near the Ross Island bridge.

4:30 P.M. - One woman described viewing an object like "a new dime flipping around" over the Sandy District.

4:58 P.M. - Two white or silver objects flew over Portland heading southeast.

5:30 P.M. - A third passed over.

July 4 - Broderick, California - Day - SACRAMENTO BEE (California) 7/5

On the Sacramento River a family was enjoying a picnic when a shiny disc appeared far above.

Mrs. Clarence Henn and her son, Robert, commented at the time that whatever it was, its surface must have had a highly polished finish to reflect the sun so brightly.

When the object did leave, it did not gradually move out of view, but just vanished.

July 4 - Las Vegas, Nevada - SACRAMENTO EVENING BEE (California) 7/5
BOULDER CITY DAILY NEWS (Nevada), 7/7
ELKO DAILY FREE PRESS (Nevada) 7/7

Clark County Building Inspector O.J. Morling stated that he and his wife saw up to two dozen "discs" pass over in a loose formation.

They estimated the objects were traveling at about 100 miles per hour, at 500 feet of altitude heading toward the northeast.

Private pilot Raymond Harris also saw saucers over Nevada. From his 150 Voyager he and a friend observed five discs below them—so bright they were hard to look at.

He turned his aircraft to give chase but could not intercept the saucers which were zipping off toward the southwest.

After the incident he described the objects to his father, a deputy sheriff, as circular and brilliant.

July 4 - Portland, Oregon - OREGON JOURNAL (Portland) 7/5

Then harbor patrolman, Captain K.A. Prehn, boat pilot A.T. Austad, and patrolman Kent C. Hoff reported to Portland police headquarters that they had seen three to six oscillating, flashing discs.

These were described as being "shaped like chromium hub—caps face—to—face, shining and flashing in the sun" traveling very fast and high at about 10,000 feet toward the south over the Globe Mills.

They were close enough to see their shape distinctly; their outlines were sharp, not hazy, and they looked silvery, metallic.

The men were uncertain of the exact number of objects because the flashes from the objects were so bright that they could not stand to stare at them.

They did agree that the objects wobbled and oscillated as they flew with turning and weaving motions , so that at times a full disc was seen, and at others only a "crescent," making it difficult to be certain how many there were.

They were flying at "terrific speeds". .

At about the same time the rest of these observations were being made, Sergeant Claude Cross of the Oregon State Police Department said that he "plainly saw" two or three objects from his headquarters at 9200 S.E. McLoughlin Blvd., in Milwaukee, due south of Portland.

They were seen to the east at an "undetermined height" and were following each other in a northeasterly direction at a "terrific speed."

He said they looked like "toy balloons, almost pure white, and traveled sideways with no flashing."

Meanwhile, scores of residents called the newspapers and police stations reporting similar objects.

Howard Shriver, an Army aviator during the First World War, and his sister, reported that they were returning to San Diego from Los Angeles by automobile when a disc-shaped object flashed across the sky just south of Long Beach.

The disc, which they estimated to be 7,000 feet high, appeared to be flying north directly toward them when "it swerved broadside towards the ocean," and then "side-slipped" to the west and vanished from view.

Miss Shriver said that in their "broadside" view of the object, it had the appearance of "a large serving dinner plate" reflecting the sun. Her brother compared its reflective brilliance to "a mirror's reflection of the sunlight."

They viewed the object for three or four seconds before it disappeared from view.

Both admitted that they had been "awed by the terrific speed and brilliance" of the phenomenon and were now "among the believers."

-In Air, On Ground, They're Everywhere

Sergeant C.F. Clifton, Bergstrom Field aerial radioman reported seeing one of the flying saucers bound toward San Antonio as his plane was leaving there. Other members of the crew also saw the disc.

"I think it was about 18 feet in diameter and looked as though it was made of glass," Sgt. Clifton said. "It was extremely bright and kept flashing."

Sgt Clifton said that the crew figured that it must have been flying 1,440 miles an hour because it overtook and passed their plane in such a short time. It was round and was flying at a slightly tilted angle. "The disc seemed to be spinning as it flew," Sgt. Clifton reported.

"It blurred radio reception slightly." Lieutenant Charles O. Anderson was piloting the plane which the disc passed about 4:30 p.m.

Radar technician David W. Chase, saw a disc-shaped object passing overhead appeared to be flying at a speed of 600 to 700 miles an hour, at an estimated altitude of 10,000 feet.

The disc was flying on edge, like a wheel, at right angles to the surface of the earth, and its large, circular surface gave off an extremely bright light, comparable in color to the light of an arc welder's torch; it also reminded the witness of a brightly faceted stone, such as a diamond seen under a brilliant light.

The object seemed to be following the contours of the terrain below it, dipping or bobbing up and down in an irregular pattern as it passed over small hills and mountains 500 to 1,000 feet high. It was in view approximately 60 to 70 seconds.

Mrs. Albert Steele was awakened by a heavy rainstorm. She noticed that the sky outside was bright and, believing it was time to get up, checked her watch. It was 2:05 a.m. EDT.

Looking out her bedroom window, she was startled by the appearance of a brilliant object hovering directly over the Central Vermont Public Service Corporation gas plant.

The object, casting a bright light all over the immediate neighborhood, was oval in shape, and Mrs. Steele could see "jagged edges sticking out in all directions. The edges were of different colors, but the center was like a brilliant white light," she said.

Because it was so bright, it was difficult for her to watch it continuously for any length of time.

Although she was unable to estimate its altitude, Mrs. Steele said that it was "not too high." It appeared to her to be "about the size of a bathtub."

She woke up her husband, who glanced out the window, saw the light, and went back to sleep.

The bright object hung motionless over the gas plant for 15 minutes. When the rain began to let up, it just "disappeared." Mrs. Steele described it "like nothing I have ever seen before."

July 8 1947 - Birmingham News & Age-Herald (Alabama) 7:05 a.m. CST (July  8 edition)

Cook Springs, Alabama - An aviator who declined to make his name public told the Birmingham papers on the 8th that he had seen an object during a flight and wanted to know if there had been any other reports of "flying saucers" at the time.

He had taken his plane up for an early morning flight, he explained, and had seen the object as he flew over Cook Springs.

His attention had been caught by a bright reflection ahead of him, "like that from a mirror held against the sun." He changed his course, believing he had gotten "on the beam" of an approaching plane, but none appeared.

Then, in the direction of the source of the flash, he saw silhouetted against the mountains a "round object about the size of an automobile wheel" (at arm's length).

He tried to catch up with it, but the speed of the object was too great for his plane. The object diminished to "about a foot in diameter and then disappeared into the haze."

-Saucer Seen by Society Writer Near Country Club-

Nationally known News-Press editor, Helen Culver Gettys. She witnessed a flying saucer pass over her car near the St. Joseph (Missouri) Country Club.

Mrs. Gettys had just left the club with her mother and Mrs. Charles Culver when a flash in the sky caught her eye. All of the ladies were then quite startled to look up and see one of the famous saucers.

As it flew northward at about 1,000 feet, they commented on how the sun reflected off its shiny metal surface.

The disc appeared in full view for a matter of seconds, indicating it traversed the area at a high rate of speed.

All three women possessed solid reputations and Mrs. Gettys stressed in her own article about the incident that prior to the sighting they had consumed only "one bottle apiece of a local bottler's very soft drink."
