Last night on local News... Gun Control being Considered in Nevada...
here are some of the proposals...

#1 Make dealers responsible if they sold a gun without proper checks if that person goes berserk and shoots people

#2 Increase licensing fee by $25.00

#3 Require gun owners to pay for their own background checks (around $500-750 last I checked)

#4 Allow kids on campus to carry

#5 Allow concealed weapons carry without extra permit

Nevada... Maverick State :D

And don't mess with John's wife... she packs a 45 :P  For varmints of course :D

Well, in consideration of Z's open support of a "Gun Lovers Thread" here on the forum, I thought it appropriate to change my avatar for a time, to indicate support, with Z, of our 2nd Amendment rights, as citizens of this United States of America.

While there may be differences of "opinion" regarding the subject of "guns", the 2nd Amendment of our Constitution is VERY clear, and affirmation of its statements for the right to "bear arms" has been clearly affirmed by the Supreme Court.

Been there, done that.

One might notice my original - one and only - avatar.

Welcome to the club    ;)   - gotta light?    8)

A worthwhile watch, for any interested in the discussions relative to the 2nd Amendment, and the right to bear arms subject on-going.

You could be right.

Record Gun Sales in December, 2012

QuoteRecord gun sales were recorded in December 2012 with over 2.7 million background checks being conducted through the FBI's National Instant Check System (NICS), the agency said today. For 2012, more background checks were conducted than any year since 1998.

In December, 2,783,765 total background checks were carried out to purchase firearms, surpassing the previous record from November 2012 when 2,006,919 checks were performed.

For the year, 19,592,303 background checks carried out for firearm purchases–a 19 percent rise from 2011.

Each check doesn't represent a single gun, just a single background check transaction.

you wouldn't be the first to suspect that.
interesting crossbow pics,  have you actually tried to fish with that one?
i've shot longbows and recurves before but still prefer the letoff of a good compound.
i'm surprised it doesn't get mentioned more often as to what an arrow will do to kevlar,  it'll punch through easily at a higher draw weight  with a field point.
here's a pic of my current rig.

Well in mt time period the Longbow and Medieval crossbow are my options :P but yeah modern bows pack a punch and are a lot easier on the arm for prolonged use.

As to the Kevlar piercing... there used to be many videos on you tube showing that, then one day they just vanished...

Odd that

City looks to make gun ownership mandatory

Quote By John Bachman

NELSON, Ga. —

Every homeowner in a local town could soon have to own a gun or break the law. It's a controversial new plan for the city of Nelson.

Leaders told Channel 2's John Bachman the reason they need the law is because the city straddles Cherokee county to the south and Pickens County to the north.

That, they said, can lead to slower response times.

One police officer patrols Nelson, Georgia for eight hours during the day. That leaves 16 hours overnight when the city is basically unguarded.

"When he's not here we rely on county sheriffs--however it takes a while for them to get here," said Nelson City Councilman Duane Cronic.

That's why Cronic proposed the ordinance.

"Every head of household will own and maintain a firearm," he said.

Bill McNiff lives in Nelson, carries a pistol and supports the law.

"I think every city should do it. I think it should go countywide too," McNiff said.

The Nelson ordinance is modeled closely after the 1982 law passed in Kennesaw.
