And it looks like it's not horizontal, something that water (or any other liquid) should be.

well i can see the sand also on lower left hand side all most like a beach.I can see the line where the sand ends and a liquid in a pool,alos can see the reflection in the liquid .Its much easier to say hey its sand and end the post. ARmap I follow your post and u looking into it with some value to your comment is awsome ty.

If the image of the proported "water" image is a valid image then if it's a illusion or trickery of light and no water there, then what could make the sand such a darker color than the immediate surrounding soil/sand and rocks?   Perhaps it was freshly wet from Ice that has melted recently?  Or in fact there is indeed water  or some form of liquid, which could be the case because there seems to be reflection of some sort and you can see shadowing from the over hanging  and inset rocks.  Its a great picture but we need to break it down a little more.

The place looks like one big rock to me. I'm looking at it on a smartphone. Do you know how big a smartphone is? Not very. What I see looks like sand with shadows on it from overhanging rock.

You are right about one thing, there are more interesting planets.  Namely the one we called Earth.  Lot's of cool stuff to still discover or shall I say be let known.  That's why we are all here right?

From that angel it looks like a better picture.  It's clearly shading with shadow's giving the  sand a darker color.
