R-Type, are you using Yoda to Experiment them thingy's ???

As it sure does look like that LOL

Just looking at that blue monster beam hitting the surface of a wall like in robo's pic will damage your eyes for good. really not a good idea without the goggles! robo has these though. ;)
here's what the Geneva convention says about LASER use on the battlefield.

Just imagine being hit through a scope on a rifle with one of them things or even an ultraviolet one where you would not even see the beam, just a popping sound as your retina explodes.nasty.
no nerves in ya eyeballs to feel the pain.I say again nasty.

Far from me to tell ya what to do with it robo, heck it may come to the point where you may need it for defensive! I would have NO problem lighting up an opposing force if TSHTF.

No just pointing out the Geneva thing, and that is not clear as it says accidental injury is acceptable when a laser is targeting an optical instrument :o so that's pretty much anything you look through?

I freaking LOVE LASERS.I have had my own accidents with them though so i'm really cautious now.

Fist off, I'm surprised at the amount of people who have lasers in Egypt.   Check out this video of protestors shining lasers at a passing helicopter.

Ooo that's wicked, man 8)

You need my special laser steering & then you can make some very pretty shapes, i might post the entire plan in the I.F soon (if i don't forget :P )

The actual unit looks like this, it's very small, built into an old Amiga 500 psu LOL;

The idea came from this old colour TV me & my mate decided to make into a 3-d colour scope / guitar tuner
:o

These are all using analog techniques, no computers here, no sir 8)

robomont

did you drill a hole in the end of the tv tube .install lazer.pull vacuum.?

No my freind, that's the original TV tube & electron guns.
First we cut out the tuner, then we made the firing of the guns into DC instead of the on-off raster, then we used the audio section to amplify the incoming waveform, then we built a phase shift filter to give an x-y difference (otherwise you would just get a diagonal line), then we made a beat-detect circuit that changed the colours (which we cycled usind a divide-by-ten chip).

Then we hung it from the ceiling in the local disco, the kids loved it!
Especially one person who was deaf, she said for the first time in her life she could SEE the music, and dance to it ;D

Maybe that's another invention we could sell...
My avatar got all stretched when the site had problems a few months back, this is a closeup shot :D

So how many watts is that laser again?

Red & green are real cheap, but blue ones (like LED's) are more than twice the price. I'm waiting to get a broken Blu-Ray so i can dig the blue laser out, LOL
When i have all 3 colours i ill build another steering unit.

My original plan was, of course, a laser T.V. which could project a 10 by 6 foot picture, or even make holograms.

As you can see in the above pics, i had a 3rd control which pulsed the laser on & off, this gives dotted lines, circles of dots etc. Very pretty 8)

The above pattern is a good example of a Lissajous Pattern or in this case, a knot.
All analog stuff, no digits anywhere :P

robomont

blueray diode at 1.5 watts or 1500mw.i play w it almost every night.lol.bugs fly into the beam and explode like little stars.

love that tv tube idea.your above my skill level when it comes to that stuff.seventy percent of what you said i have no clue.

but i still think i have you in the hvdc department.lol.
