100% FAIL

No one,
not even one of You,
Dear Reader,
even mentioned the point
about humanity's shortcomings
and potential demise being
addressed by 'aliens'.   :P

... and we truly appreciate the replies,
but how about a couple of questions?

1) What about the Message?
2) What about the Messenger?

Thank you all for having the time and
consideration to participate.

Most of the time, our threads go
virtually un-noticed (much like Matrix's   :P )
so we subsequently quit posting timely
updates on Fukushima - not because of
any 'Doom Porn" angle - but because of
an apparent lack of audience interest.

Of course, the ZorgMeister warned us
of that many moons ago.   :P

QuoteWhen we pointed out what was really going on - no one seemed concerned, and the initial lack of interest from fellow firefighters 12-department-wide was disconcerting, to say the least.
We felt we were in 'Stepford Wives'...

In reality, we were in the actual place where the movie "Deliverance' was filmed.   :P

Nothing has changed much here since the 'war.' :D

We speak about the continuing crisis at Fukushima - but (as zorgon pointed out OMG! years ago) - NO ONE FORKING CARES...

So be it.

And dear friend petrus4, don't fret yourself;
we'll get to your comment shortly:

"Fukushima is a third example.  Despite the amount of hysteria I have seen regarding this disaster, it remains hypothetical

I have not heard of anyone's standard of living (at least outside Japan) as having been adversely affected by the incident.

For all practical intents and purposes, it appears to have been contained."

EARTH AID is dedicated to the creation of an interactive multimedia worldwide event to raise awareness about the challenges and solutions of nuclear energy.

Don't worry, it happens to all.  ;)

Probably because nobody is interested in an almost 40 years old hoax.  :P

Quote1) What about the Message?
It's the same thing many humans have been saying, why should we give more importance to that one?

Quote2) What about the Messenger?
Unknown, what is to say about it? ???

QuoteMost of the time, our threads go virtually un-noticed (much like Matrix's   :P ) so we subsequently quit posting timely updates on Fukushima - not because of any 'Doom Porn" angle - but because of an apparent lack of audience interest.
People get used to it (whatever "it" may be), so it becomes part of the scenery and, as such, "invisible".

Question 3a & b:   I burn wood for heat and have backup water that's hand pumped.  One deep cycle battery, two solar panels and one connected fluorescent.  Also, a modest garden.

Prepping?  Remember NECESSARY prescription drugs!  What's the point of 1000 rounds and 30 days food if you die from a stroke or diabetic coma?

That's one of the reasons I don't get too worried about it, without medication I will probably will not last long. :)

EXACTLY!!!!

It is the same reason SOAP OPERAS are so popular in the USA :D

I have been on FB for a few weeks... mostly because of a few people like Joe Resnick and Jack Arneson are on there..  I see it daily how the peeps are sharing doom porn, but MOST of the stories are from suspect sites and just plain lies created to feed the fear.

No one cares because the lie feed what they WANT to believe.  If you point out that the article is an outright LIE they call you a shill and even block you... then go and share the lie with comments like "See? look at THIS... told you so"

Snowden daily has 'revealed new stuff'  And the stupid blind sheep retweet and like and share the lies/  It gets so bad that anyone trying to share real truth is lost in the noise

One guy is working hard to share the Fukushima stuff  Jim Lee (a bit egotistical and claiming work as his own (he has been doing it for 2 years)) I pointed out to him our ATS thread :P )

But even he has been using the Tsunami wave map as the radiation leak map (as I did in error that Armap pointed out ;) )  Why? Because he KNOW people will react to the image and not care about the truth  And yeah the real radiation map is not quite as spectacular as the Tsunami map :P

Demand Growing for Personal Armored Vehicles
Don't leave home without a bullet-resistant Range Rover; by Graham Kozak
By AutoWeek Jul 11, 2012 2:54PM

you're a well-heeled VIP in the market for a luxury SUV, you can hardly go wrong with a new Land Rover Range Rover. Roughly $100,000 gets you a vehicle with both presence and an enviable list of features.

Advanced suspension makes off-roading feel like a cruise through the countryside. The surround-sound Harmon/Kardon speaker system is more than powerful enough to drown out any noises that manage to invade the luxurious interior. And don't forget the air-conditioned leather seats—perhaps the greatest technological breakthrough since the invention of the wheel—which will keep you cool and collected in even the most sun-scorched of emirates.

Run into a gang of AK-47-toting street thugs, separatist guerillas or religious extremists on the way to the country club, however, and you're probably toast. Neither a well-appointed interior nor a perfectly chilled posterior will protect you from a hail of small-arms fire.

That's why you need to take your new ride to a professional armoring service before you hit the road. Thanks to modern armor technology, nearly any vehicle can be turned into a rolling panic room—for a price. Global instability has high-profile individuals turning to armoring services in ever-increasing numbers, and business is booming.

years ago i worked underground doing mushroom growing research
in limestone mines..huge..mostly safe..painted white and well lite
but the joke from old timers was:
if there's a cave in .. don't run for the doorways where you are safer..
it will only take you longer to die there..
go for the center and be crushed fast...

i used to think this was awful
but if i have to prep for the end only to die anyway
....sigh

getting old and slower kinda makes you think differently

but haveing said that
does not mean i am sad and anxiety ridden
nope
i enjoy every blessed moment of this wonderous existense

the subjects brought up here are all part of that race to the botttom that happens with capatalism.sure i like the toys it has brought me.but capatalism will fail if its not hinged with enviromentalism.personally i think weve ruined enough ground and now we must recover it or redirect all future toxic industries to those same grounds.
the thing that makes me most nervous is dow schlumberger.thay are the folks doing the fracking and dow is a chemical giant with loads of toxic chemicals they need to get rid of.this is a win win for them.they get paid to frack and charge money for worthless chem they use to have to dispose of in expensive ways.now they just inject in to ground.a severe quake could force those liquids to the surface and create miles of toxic dead zones.
personally ive already bugged out.

The problem is not capitalism.  It is money as debt and, really, money to begin with.

As for trash...  Personal "recycling" is commendable, but the problem stems mostly from PLANNED OBSOLESCENCE.  If You REALLY want to do something, promote ideas that remove the MOTIVE for planned obsolescence.

The motive for planned obsolescence is capitalism.  :P

Amy although I do agree with what you say mate, sometimes people need some simple habbit's to learn a bigger picture though.

In my case I changed a simple habbit of throwing used tape rolls into trash and paper off cut's.  After a week of collecting what I daved paper wise I went and weighed it and found out over the course of a year that I have saved pretty much a kilo of paper waste per week that can be recycled.

Its pretty damn amazing what can be done when people stop following the status qou.  People at my my work minus a few think its nutz i did that years ago... And I still hear folke saying they are basically too stupid to recycle.

I grew up with the Wombles on TV. I am not a hoarder by any means. but seeing what I used is being recycled is Grand :)

No...  It's PROFIT.  In any scarcity paradigm solution some will seek more than others and the psychopaths will succeed.

No...  It's PROFIT.
From Wikipedia. :)

Capitalism is an economic system in which capital assets are privately owned and items are brought to market for profit. In a capitalist economy, the parties to a transaction determine the prices at which assets, goods, and services are exchanged. Central elements of capitalism include capital accumulation, competitive markets and wage labor.

Amaterasu

Yes, profit motive does emerge from a capitalist solution.  Profit motive emerges in ALL scarcity paradigm solutions.

Questions...

1) Of what use is AWARENESS if NO ONE will do anything?
tis true the majority of the people are sheeple, but without prodding them along I doubt if any will become aware; a small percentage is, and more are starting to look about a bit...

Quote2)Is it important that the posts of this 'awareness' are actually TRUE? (80% of doom porn is false)
to a degree; info about true happenings is important, is no denying it, yet the falsehoods might motivate those that would otherwise not be inclined to do ought...

Quote3) How many on Pegasus have;

a) A 72 hour bug out bag handy for every family member?
b) An escape plan?
can't speak for the others, Z, but I have been making preps since the first whispers about Y2K began... and have never stopped... I live in a rural area on top of a small mountain; have a deep rock well with pump; couple of generators; farm tractor and tiller; seed stock; wood heater big enough to do the whole house if needed( and am checking on a window unit pellet stove  ;D) food stock to do for quite some time; a large variety of tools, couple of 4-wheelers if needed, firearms and ammunition for hunting and defense, canning supplies...

all my children have bug out bags in their cars; my son in law the Gunny and my daughter have sufficent bug out accomadations to carry them from texas to here even if they have to walk...

QuoteThere are more questions but those will do :D
More people need to think, Z; at any given moment there is a 3 day supply of food on hand in the country; major calamity happens, power grid goes down, or the trucks can't roll, shelves in the stores will be bare p d q...
