That is very kind of you, Beth, and I appreciate it.  I haven't actually bought MoP, however, and I would still need to download it; so joining immediately isn't an option.  I will keep this in mind, however; I will have to see whether or not I can afford MoP, because with the price of the expansion, and a sub, it will be nearly $100.

But we will see.

you don't need mop, although it helps.  (complicates monk class usage - i don't think you can make a monk till you have mop, if i remember correctly) but if you consider 85 levels of the game are still available to play and all the various achievements, well you could be busy for a very long time and not do all 85 levels of it. lol
