Its almost like armap has a different experience on ats than most of us.

When I was at ATS I had zero ads :P A 'perk' for providing them royalty free content that they make their millions from... and not even a t-shirt :P

This shows to go into Start - All Programs - Accesories - Command Prompt..  then enter  ipconfig /flushdns

that gave a message saying / ref to   DNS  cache Flushed !   Hopefully this is it !
Yes, that's it. :)

I never had that "perk", I have always seen the ads.  :(

Many thanks for your assistance and Guidance ArMaP...

Hopefully got there in the end.

After doing it however so far not noticed if it has made any difference in the way my computer runs as yet.. It still seems to have periods of severe slow down or will not allow one to click on and open pages without either no action occurring , like it Freezes up...or it takes a long time for an action to occur...

Not sure if I need to place Gigas's Code in the command Prompt also... if that may help...

I some times also get a virtual memory message pop up...I think it was...

Not sure why when it has little on the harddrive as yet..

Unless its when I open too many pages, but even then when I close some down it still does not perform like it should.

May have to run MSEs...

Do you also have a Free anti Spyware/malware program that you recommend or should MSE also take care of that ?

Yes, that's it. :)

Speaking of Ad Trackers from ATS, here is what you get when you first block all trackers, and then next, allow ATS free rain.

Blocking all Ad Trackers from ATS:

Allow ATS to do what it wants:

So, as you can see, the 6 original Trackers call on other trackers until you have 32 total trackers. If your machine is low-end it will slow down dramatically through throttling of the bandwidth.

I see "only" 17 on ATS. And one on Pegasus.

But what I have trying to say (or I have been saying but have not been understood) is that it's not ATS or Pegasus that are responsible for what happens with those trackers, they are only responsible for allowing the initial trackers on their pages.

I got 32 on ATS (Difference is that you are a moderator) and 2 on Pegasus (Amazon and Revolver Maps).

I agree with you totally on the fact that ATS only has the 6 initial trackers, and the 3rd parties are the ones who spawn the other 26.

I might ask you, what is your opinion on ATS knowing that these other companies use these trackers?
Do you feel that they should have some responsibility, or not?

Thanks, ArMaP  :)

No, the difference is not that I am a moderator, I see the same number when logged out.

QuoteI might ask you, what is your opinion on ATS knowing that these other companies use these trackers?
I don't know if they know that those companies use those trackers, as the trackers you see are not the same trackers I see. Initially I see only 3, DoubleClick, Google Analytics and Gorilla Nation, regardless of being logged in or not.

I do, and I think that's why they say that the members should contact them whenever some ad misbehaves.

problem with that when there are so many ads is that no one has the time LOL

Not true... when I added the Amazon link I had a CHOICE of which style of ad to use. The affiliate link is the least obtrusive and costs the viewer nothing to use it, but gives us a small kick back that is better than a click ad... And the money comes from Amazon not the viewer

Unlike the partial pennies you get from annoying tracker click ads, affiliate links are real cash  Amazon starts each month at 4.5% with a max of 6.5% (resets monthly) based on qualifying sales

Since most of the traffic is to the website not the forum, affiliate links need to be on the website.  I have an affiliate with ThinkGeek too that I have yet to set up

And thats the difference between class and trash.
Ats knows what they are doing and doesnt care.otherwise it would have been changed years ago.
Zorgon is a responsible site owner and thats why he gets my deepest respect.and why i try to remember to click on his add when i shop amazon.which is usually about once a month.

Not true...
Not true? Are you responsible for what Amazon does with the link to it's servers?  ???
