, , , , how to thrash and trash a thread 101, , , , impressive.  :P

The thread title here is "The World Is Building Up To Something"

SOMETHING  kinda covers EVERYTHING  :P

When we have a specific title on a topic we tend to enforce staying on topic. As Deuem says once a topic has run its course and there is no more to add. it tends to wander. That is the way of forums. If the new direction is worthy  we split it off  if not the thread will usually fizzle and fade

But when the topic is vague, it might go anywhere

Making a statement that 'something' is going to happen is stupid :P  because then anything that happens you can say "see? told ya something was gonna happen"

::)

if the thread is predominantly about religion it usually gets moved to the religious section which is NOT open to public viewing and you have to request to participate

As I concluded my participation in this thread with that, and a comment about ArMaP (his avatar) using a hammer and chisel, then chided yah all about thrashing and trashing, I suppose I should say a bit more.

Yeah ya can't just drop a bomb and run :P  That is the problem with any discussion about religion or politics... no one can just make a point and be done  :D It's hu-mon nature

QuoteThere were some great bits of information here and there in several of the posts. There were also some extremist rants, to say the least, will this chase me away? No

Religion as I have said many times is a PERSONAL QUEST  each person ultimately finds their own path.  Since hu-mons are social creatures and basically a herd animal (hence sheeple that the churches tend their flocks), they basically feel the need to share their path with others

Religion is a control mechanism  nothing more. It is simply a tool used by some with strong will to literally force others to follow them by creating a 'fear of god' in them that there will be a punishment if they don't believe

The Jews, Muslim and Christians all follow the SAME GOD.... while people at the common level will rarely ackowledge this you will not find ONE bible scholr of any of those three faiths that will deny it... as it is FACT.  The only difference is in the INTERPRETATION and which 'version' they have adopted

Between each of those three Abrahamic religions there are no over a THOUSAND versions  and they are all fighting with each other over which one is the 'TRUTH'

Martin Luther invented the Protestant version because he refused to accept the Christian fear monger concept of HELL

Actually Lutherism is likely the best version for Jesus followers :D

He strongly disputed the claim that freedom from God's punishment for sin could be purchased with monetary values Luther taught that salvation and subsequently eternity in heaven is not earned by good deeds but is received only as a free gift of God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ as redeemer from sin and subsequently eternity in Hell. His theology challenged the authority of the Pope of the Roman Catholic Church by teaching that the Bible is the only source of divinely revealed knowledge from God and opposed sacerdotalism by considering all baptized Christians to be a holy priesthood. Those who identify with these, and all of Luther's wider teachings, are called Lutherans even though Luther insisted on Christian as the only acceptable name for individuals who professed Christ.

Oddly enough Martin Luther was also a Rosicrucian, though many modern Lutherans will argue that LOL  here is Luther's "Rosy cross"

Sir Francis Bacon also a Rosicrucian gave us the final version of the King James Bible

So the more you look  the more we see how it has all been manipulated over the centuries

QuoteBut as the wise Otter pointed out, it was in the open public area.

Yup sometimes you need a little controversy to reel in the rubes :P

QuoteEven though I am a Bible Thumper I am NOT religious, nor am I what many call spiritual, I hope that I am knowledgeable.

So yeah WHICH version do YOU thump?  To me the ONLY true version of the Bible would be the original ARAMAIC version  and they have one I saw recently  But even that one is not the original, just as close as we can get

IMO any other version rom either the Jews, the Muslim or the Christians has been so tainted with edits and interpretations that they are effectively useless beyond a curiosity factor

QuoteAnd, I still think DISCLOSURE will come from above, not from down here.  ;D

There will be no disclosure in our lifetime, neither from above nor below

Great. The Jewish 'Question' confuses me.

The Jewish 'Question' confuses the Jews :P

Few people pay attention to anything outside their preconceived biases

Look at the Muslim world...  most Americans either tolerate them or want to eradicate them, yet within their own Islamic sects they are fighting to eradicate each other. The main two factions of Islam are Sunni and Shia. There are hundreds of smaller groups, some moderate some radical, but the two main ones have been at war with each other for thousands of years

Sunnis against Shias: a strategic absurdity

The Middle East is in the grip of a war neither side can win. The conflict in the region between Sunnis and Shias, from Lebanon to Iraq, is a strategic absurdity, which makes the death toll even more tragic than it would otherwise be.

http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2014/jan/05/editorial-comment-middle-east-sunni-shia

On the Christian front we have Catholics and Protestant, Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses and a hundred more variations. Remember the wars in Ireland between Catholics and Protestants? All that death in the name of the same god

In WWII The Brits had the slogan "God Save the Queen", the Americans, "In God We Trust" and the Germans "Got Mit Uns" (God with us)

So WHOSE side was God on?

::)

And the Jewish Question?

Zionist vs Orthodox are the main feuds though modern Judaism also has many 'versions' or sects

But listen to the Orthodox views... I myself was quite surprised to hear them so outspoken AGAINST the state of Israel that the Zionists created

I have had a lot of contact with the Orthodox jews in the Gem trade... found them all to be very nice and able to discuss religion in a sane way  :D

Jews United Agianst Zionism
WHY ORTHODOX JEWS ARE OPPOSED TO A ZIONIST STATE
http://www.nkusa.org/AboutUs/Zionism/opposition.cfm

So with all these factions in three major religions that all came from the ONE god that was created from the more ancient beliefs (Sumerian, etc) that all technically worship some Alien beings 'not of this earth' (ergo true ET :P)  is it any wonder that people today are TOTALLY confused?

Even Buddhism has many factions today, though the Bon tradition (Tibetan) traces its roots to the same Pre Persian locations :D

Aah, memories... ::)

Yep, chickens can fly, seen it a few times ;D

Yes sorry Norval, we weren't intentionally derailing this thread, just adding some humour to it.

On a more somber note, i have felt great disturbances in the force, for want of a better way of explaining it ::) Things are happening, you can just FEEL it!

QuoteWe have the so-called 'anti-semites' and the 'Protocols' indicating we are ruled by a bunch of fake Jews, and yet this is vehemently denied by all officials... And yet, statistically, the Jews are most cusrious in every aspect... Does anyone here have any wise input on the matter?

Yes, you have 2 types of jews; The orthodox ones that have curls, wear black & have a very strange religion, the Kaballah (or something like that?), and they keep pretty much to themselves.
I met these peeps, even worked for them ;)

And you have the Zionists, which are men in suits, fanatics, very smart, and bent on CONTROL.
They HATE all other religions, and want to see them wiped out.

Hope that answers your question?

QuoteMany threads get split also.

Yes, if a topic that is not the OP starts to dominate a thread, the mods can always split it, that happens now & then.....

QuoteWe all like to think outloud and play. No play makes life boring.

Eggzactly, freind Deuem :)

QuoteMaking a statement that 'something' is going to happen is stupid   because then anything that happens you can say "see? told ya something was gonna happen"

...and that makes for a very open, interesting thread!

As usual, Z nailed it in his last 2 posts ;D

ETA; I hope the 'nail' reference isn't upsetting any christians!

Something wonderful is going to happen, , , ,

Concerning which "Bible", , , , , as asked by Seeker and Zorgon, , ,
In english I have well over a dozen translations on the shelves, and the data base I use has several more besides those. I also have access to the American Bible Society and United Bible Societies data bases and research as needed. I "thump" them all.

Thrash and trash "religions" all yah want, , , I do.  ;D

When it comes to what the ancient writings have to offer, I accept what is stated in the Bibles as an Exopolitical Document, NOT religious.  :P
It's the questions that drive us, , , the answers that guide us.

Well, most here know that my belief, and the belief of most of the other 2 billion Christians around the world, is that the words in the Bible are God's given words to man. So...the Bible is the word of God for man.

Regarding the different translations of the Bible, the most literal translations are best, and Young's is one of the best. But, some of the more modern (living) translations are a little easier for many people to understand.

Actually, the King James translation is very close to the Young's literal translation. Some of the later modern translations are more progressive leaning, and do downplay and/or even ignore some of the miraculous of the Word.

PLAYSWITHMACHINES

I think this is what sets us apart from many other sites, Rdunk.

We each have our own beliefs, and can share them, dispute them, uphold them.
we discuss them openly & honestly, which seems taboo on many other sites  ::)

I'm just amazed that, given our diversity, we get along so well :o

"Good vibes" is one reason, "respect for all" is another.
A genuine interest in the other person's viewpoint is also desirable and we seem to have that, as well.

Makes for a relaxed environment for pondering the conundrums of existence, LOL

Well said PWM! I agree! Religion of some type is a significant part the daily life of most people on this Earth - not all, but by far most. So, to totally ignore it completely when having general discussions about matters of life, on forums like this, or at any place, would leave some vacancy in the totality of thought on many subjects.

It is most likely that most religious thought will experience some impact if and when full disclosure occurs. So, do we just ignore all religion thought on a forum such as this until such time someone says with fact "aliens do exist here and elsewhere"??

It is good that religion is not totally ignored here, even though it is pretty well secluded to the Religious Cave! :) Of course there will always be a disconnect between the different religions, and also between this who have a religious belief and those who do not. And the world will continue to go around even so! :)

I would like to tell a small story on that, if i may;

I was born & raised a hard,  old facts scientist.
OK so the only letters i can now put after my name is MBM or Machine Builder Mechatronics, LOL

By no means a 'PHD' but i learned in the hard school of LIFE....

I am the classical 'geek', but given this wonderous new comms medium, the NET, i can comunicate, at laaaast

Now, having survived several NDE's , hauntings, psychic attacks, and other phenomenon i am very inclined to agree with you that 'MAN' has a 'spirit' (albeit a very weak one :) )

I have travelled that astral plane, faster than light when i analysed my memories (!) and it scared the poop out of me, but at the same time, held a great attraction for me ;)

I realise that all peeps need to believe in something, but it never occurs to them to beleive in themselves, aaargh, what a WASTE!

OK so i'm part Jedi Force (shao-lin at any rate :P ) and partly Buhddist... :P

Are we stil freinds?

I think so, because we, above all, have the utmost respect for each other as hu-mons, and we are all together in the same mud ball boat.
There, i have pontificated again, and i promised myself to stop doing it.... :P

Literal translations do not always work. This is a key point and that is the REASON that there are thousands of versions of the 'Word' of god.  As I recall you yourself do not accept that the Jews, Muslim and Christians all follow the same god yet you, unlike most 'normal' Christians defend Israel as the "God's Chosen"

So no we are not sure exactly on your version of belief :D

If I write "That is a hot car" and a thousand years from now someone reads that WITHOUT CONTEXT, what did I mean LITERALLY?

It could be

1) The car is literally hot to the touch
2) The car is stolen
3) The car is a popular seller (as in hot on the market)
4) The car is pretty and thus actually cool (which would really mess with future heads

So the same simple statement has FOUR distinct and separate meanings.

Take the word BOW as another example

I can stand on the bow of a ship, turn and bow to the Captain then pick up my bow and shoot the guy on the other ship :P

So NO TRANSLATION made by man can POSSIBLY be the "Word of God"

At BEST it can be an interpretation based on the bias of the person doing the transliteration. And considering the thousands of sect in the world today based on this SINGLE work and the myriads of interpretaion in English, Hebrew, Arabic etc

Sorry  not buying this 'Word of God" poop "D

No offence but its not for my path

Eighthman

OK, so 'something' isn't good enough. Let's talk about possible specifics:

1) Small Disclosure - they find a fungus/lichen on Mars

2) Big Disclosure - the fungus is held by a smiling Alien

3) Worldwide Depression - pretty much a given, at this point.  Notice how the mainstream media won't say the word.  They're all a bunch of cheerleaders with their team down by several touchdowns and seconds left on the clock .

4) Free Energy - I think some form of LENR is the leading contender, along with the Princeton fusion  thing.

5) Collapse of North Korea - if South Korea has any sense, they will run away from this possibility. Reunification would be a horror story for them.

6) Secession of some part of the US - Texas? Vermont?  The only way to avoid this is more nullification - which is growing. The mainstream media won't talk about it either.

7) some kind of Israel-Palestine deal - this one will happen for sure eventually. Demographics say so.
