I could name double that, that said oh sure I want to go when I was planning the trip, but when it came time to pack up they suddenly had other stuff to do.

One guy who really was gonna go, was reading my latest UFO magazine while we were packing.

He was reading an article about some folks who had just visited the perimeter of Area 51 and had their tire shot out by a security dude on foot on one of the outcrops.

Cammo dudes drove by them a short time later and shouted out 'Having car problems?' and laughed as they drove by.

At that point I heard 'TIRE shot out??' from my friend followed by 'No WAY I'm goin out there!!'

So I continued packing and headed out on my own.

no , in the nineties I was busy with higher education, but I did have an eye on the field so to speak..

a shot out wheel doesn't sound too scary, I would have changed the wheel and continued at the safe speed for driving on a spare, no ... we're going to need 6 million with some spunk in them, cowardice isn't going to move mountains
