I don't think that Ive seen a video of the cammeo dudes drawing out there guns before at Area 51.

I am also surprised that they were not shot.  I was under the impression that Groom's security were permanently authorised to use lethal force.  While the area has sufficient emotional significance that I might hypothetically want to visit it from a respectful distance, deliberately antagonising the site's armed personnel would not be on my itinerary.

I am trying to work out what was shown in the video.

From what I seem to recall... from the 375 highway..you have to go down Groom Lake Road for about 13 miles to reach that entrance where the Warning stop signs are.

When you get there...the main road if you call it a road (or trial).. continues and bears to the left and maybe starts going downwards to continue to Area 51.

Where the Cammos are perched is on another short trial to the right of the main road...and is above higher up so they can have a good vantage spot.




watch this video from 4 mins 20 secs to 5 mins...this shows the stop signs and later the trail just after the signs that is on the  right and goes up to where the cammo dudes perch..






Where the stop signs are... I think the side track or  trail is just after the stop sign...behind that point..but there is also a track that they maybe able to come down or go back up to on the other legal side of the stop sign... where the tourist are allowed.

I posted a video of that a week or two ago that shows it.(but cannot find it at the moment).but it may or may not have been suitable for a vehicle..but it showed a person walk up towards the height of where the cammo vehicle is.

this shows something similar and you should be able to watch this and understand what I have described in relation to it..



I am NOT sure if that is just the side track or  trail that the tourist have taken that just goes up to where the Cammo dudes were parked up above. .They probably have only broke thru the sign for a very short distance and then tried to turn right and go up the track to where the cammos where parked rather than breaking  thru the stop sign to try to continue to Area 51.

I can understand that it could easily happen as maybe they thought they were doing no harm, and maybe they were trying to drive up to the dudes and maybe wanting to ask them a question.. as when you get to that stop sign... all you think is ...Is that all there is after travelling all that way !  and maybe they want to ask the cammos what else may there be around here ..

If someone was in an emergency situation ..say your child was sick..and you saw a Cammo vehicle on the other side of the stop sign.. would one break thru the stop sign and drive to them to ask for help ? I am sure many would have no problem risking it ..

The person filming that seems to have focused more close up to watch the tourists and cammos and does not really show a wider angle of the surrounding area.

Im not surprised they didnt get shot. Lethal force would be a last resort, especially if theyre 20 miles out like the video says. The people in the video are complying so why shoot them

It can be quite intimidating when you travel down Groom Lake Rd to the Warning / Stop sign area.

When I visited a few years ago..I had three Cammo dude trucks  approach or pass me when I was only about 3/4s the way there...and it did make you wonder if one should carry on if this is the sort of treatment that one gets just on the way down..

They come up behind you FAST... and create a whole lot of dust when they pass you... then they come towards you with other vehicles..

It did make me stop..and I thought do I continue..

But then you think, I have come all this way...am I really going to turn around... So I continued on !

When you arrive its interesting to see.. but nothing great ...
Its annoying that you cannot see further towards Area 51 where the road bends towards it..It would be great if you could have seen Groom Lake in the distance. but the hillsides block all that off.

How many Cammos are about, I suspect only a few..but if there was ever a problem.. they could have helicopters arrive in no time..and later back up from more cammos..

Whether or not at one time they may have shot you for passing that sign.. I suspect it would depend on how severe or how fast you attempted to drive on..

Today they don't have the Deadly Force signs up as far as I am aware.  But I am sure they would at least pull a weapon on you if you break any rules...and arrest you... and would shoot to kill if you resisted..

But I think Police do that anyway in most parts of the USA if you resists them even in normal city areas..

They KNOW well in advance how many persons maybe approaching even probably on or along the 375 Highway and certainly by the Start of Groom Lake Road ..

If they became aware 200 vehicles or more were approaching... they would probably have an Army that could arrive as backup..if they wanted..

how about twenty-four hours after the next big terrorist event where more than 1000 people die on America soil, say around 24 hrs after the last soul rises

ironically i'm looking a papoose now , amazing how the satellite footage shows an almost bleeched out soil , so unlike the photos you've displayed

What do you think would happen if you went to ANY military base in the US and stood outside the fence with a camera and started taking pictures?

So what makes it ok at Area 51? "Oh I heard there were aliens there and I just wanted to get a few pictures."

Is that what your gonna say in court to the judge answering to espionage charges?



Since you took pictures of the signs saying 'Photograghy Is Prohibited' any excuse is pretty useless at that point.


So... just a word to the wise - make no mistake, by 'visiting' there you are in fact committing espionage, no if's and' or but's.

it looks badly bleeched out, contrast is all over the place on google maps , that's if it isn't an overlay of fake terrain of course
