, , , , amazed that this hasn't been moved to the religious discussion section.  :o

That being said two scriptures come to mind,
"New wine into old skins", and "pearls before swine."
Just saying.

A computer bible program so you can look up words to see what the Bible has to say about a topic you are interested in is a great help. Keeps yah from the traps of the religious institutions.

Some of the last words of King Jesus was to sell your coat and buy a sword if  yah didn't have one. (Today we know NOT to bring a knife to a gun fight though.)

It says "You shall not murder", true, but turn the page and you will read 9 times on the next two pages that you are to kill when necessary.

Have a great day with a bit of truth.  ;)

Z said sometime back that there was little action in the Religion Board, and that with the small amount of general activity we were having, it really didn't make any difference anyway. That comment was made relative to another religious related OP on the General Discussion Board, I think maybe was about the Bible in some way. So, I assume there is no problem with this sort of discussion here, for the present at least. :)

Norval, it did take me a little while, but I did find "Z"'s post wherein I questioned him about this in a comment, and it does have His reply!

A link to the post - Subject: "A GlaringOmission in World's Oldest Bible" - And a screenshot of my comment and Z's reply.  Now you know!! :)

Thank you for your reply and links rdunk..

Sorry for asking a lot of questions or making many related  comments to the ref that I referred to looking for the whole Solution in one post  :-\....

I hope to take a look thru some of the links to see if I think it may offer something that would maybe either simplify the bible or offer some answers to my raised points...

If there is a Bible section then maybe a copy could also be posted there or a link made towards it...

I may do that later..

I think one of the issues in the last year or so is not as many members visit anymore.. and some members don't have access to all sections..so many a post now is made in "General Discussion area "

Also lately "Zorgon is not visiting to keep tracks on us all "

Im not sure if he is just on a large break from PRC or if he is ill or something... He came back for a day or two and has not been back for sometime as far as I am aware ..

Thanks for your comments Norval..

Do you have any ref to what part or pages in the Bible that this relates to ?

It seems to contradict itself in general..

But there maybe exceptions to one of the 10 Commandments..

Murder or killing.
Exodus chp. 20 Not to murder (take life without just cause) And chpt 20-21-22 you will read about when one should take a life. Some can be forgiven, IF they prove themselves to be forgivable. Many churches Bibles mislead everyone with the use of "Thou shall not kill."

Get weapon to defend yourself.
Luke cpt 22: some where about 35-40 (Bibles do vary somewhat as to the numbering.) For the part about getting a sword.

IF, if, you really want to know what you can learn from me, get a computer program as I mentioned and look them up for yourself. Or not. Your choice. Word searches will teach you much.

I am NOT religious, but I do accept what the Bibles have writen in them with a scientific understanding and comprehension.

Thanks Norval,

All maybe of interest to read what is said about various situations...

what one maybe should do in Self defence or if they should ever consider revenge or not ! and also trying to see how modern laws may compare..

I don't know you you may know of some egs in reality where some may have taken some of the bibles suggestions up as opposed to what maybe modern laws on such things..

So if your not religious...and maybe decided to study the bible to see what you made of it..

How long have you been doing it ?

and do you now think it is worth trying to study and do you think it is a good guide for man to consider following.

I know that the Muslims often will follow the likes of the koran to  the letter..

so you do see it as having some sort of science views on it that you would associate with it ?

I have been searching and researching ancient documents for over 45 years.

Science of the Bible is astounding.
2nd Esdras  4:1-11.

Those questions were asked over 2000 years ago, only modern technology can answer them.
