Well first day of November, and mother nature is not being nice to us.

4 inches of snow covering everything here in Ontario Ca this am.  Can't say that I like it much.

Not supposed to stick around long but is a reminder of what is to come.

Wow, that's rough, ArMaP, but I have been told that it is roughly $7.00 a liter in a lot of Europe or around $24.00 a gallon; I would not be able to afford to fill my truck up since it has a 26 gallon tank...
According to this, the higher price in Europe is 1.702 Euros, in Iceland.

The problem some countries have is the price of gasoline when compared with the minimum wages for that country. In Portugal, for example, while a litre of gasoline costs around 1.469 Euros (according to the link above), the minimum wage is 600 Euros per month. In the Netherlands, the third country with the highest price for gasoline (1.621, according to that page) the minimum wage is 1642 Euros. That means that while the minimum wage in the Netherlands can buy 1012 litres of gasoline, in Portugal it can only buy 408.

Relatively, gasoline (like all other fuels) is very expensive in Portugal. Luckily, we don't have much cold. :)

Well first day of November, and mother nature is not being nice to us.
Here in Portugal we are having a heat wave, with high temperatures reaching 22º C (71º F) for the last week, and expected to continue for a couple of days, with a slight decrease (down to 17º C / 63º F) during the next week.

Was weird here Thursday, Mic, 71 degrees at 7am but started dropping at 1pm and went down to 31, didn't make it above 55 Friday, hit 31 again last nite, and was 56 today; yet the forecast sez it will be back to 70 by Wednesday...

Good morning all  8)

Tesla and their Model 3 has been in the news quite a bit over the last several days

In China, there have been over 2,000 glass bridges built as they were all the rage, but after several fatal accidents many have been closed and construction suspended...

Another winter storm is riding a blast of bitter cold air out of Canada thru the northern great plains states but looks like it won't be a great snow producer, the cold forecast to reach all the way down into Georgia...

We the people need to start bombarding those idiots in the House of Representatives with letters, tweets, emails, phone calls, and remind those damn idiots that they are supposed to be working for our benefit and good instead of acting like a bunch of totally retarded school yard bullies with a personal vendetta against Potus Truomp; I am tired of them wasting our time and money, aren't you?

I'm not, as it's not my money.  :P

Not mine either!  Great point ArMap.

As an onlooker, (our news is full of US government issues) it is just a  giant cluster@#(*.  All they report is impeachment news and bickering down the party lines.  Nothing gets accomplished because they can't agree on anything.

Britain is no better lately.

Canada is going to be similar as we just elected a minority government, with 5 different parties having elected MP's (Member of Parliament) and no one party with a majority, so any votes will be divided and nothing will pass here either.

Should hold back their pay if nothing gets accomplished.  That would change things.

Exactly  >:( Those frigging idiots are not fulfilling the obligations and responsibilities of their duly elected office; as I said earlier, those morons are supposed to be working for and serving to improve the lives and welfare of We the People, not pissing and moaning non-stop because their candidate was not chosen by the people  8)

Britain has a tremendous mess to deal with, and so does Germany, France,...

Seems to be that is how they plan on causing total disruption in the different governments, divide and conquer thru chaos as they can literally cause a permanent stalemate...

Hold their pay, fine them for incompitance, tar and feather their asses if necessary  ::)

That's the common situation in many countries, like Italy, for example.

In Italy, the Chamber of Deputies has members from 6 different parties and coalitions, and the two coalitions are composed of four and five parties, so the total parties represented in the chamber is 13. Those two coalitions are relatively recent, as they were created in the 1990s. Before that the normal situation was around 12 parties represented in the Chamber of Deputies.

In Portugal we have usually around 6 parties represented, but this year's elections saw the appearance of a few new parties, based on the (relative) success of other new parties across Europe, so now we have 9 parties represented in Parliament. There isn't a party with a clear majority, but, as usual, they make alliances between them (or, like last time, only an agreement between the left parties that allowed the Socialist Party to rule with the support of three other left parties), sometimes only for specific things like the annual budget.

Many parties does not mean chaos, although, in theory, it makes things harder to control. In practice, it allows things to work closer to real life, instead of being ruled by just two parties.

I am glad it works for you in Portugal, ArMaP  8)

Things are getting weirder and weirder, folks; Earlier this week there was an earthquake in Colombia, the US is having record rain, record cold, record snowfall, and in some areas record high temps  :o

The idiots in the House of Reps voted on 2 articles of impeachment, neither one actually being anything illegal or unlawful, just petty bullshit that is much ado about nothing;

plus the morons don't seem to understand that  until Pelosi officially delivers the articles to the Senate that the president has not been impeached  ::)

While the House does their dastardly deeds, what is happening on the other hands.  What are they doing that we are being distracted from in the shadows?  A huge spending bill just went through the House that would make our President look small with his budget.

2020 is the last year of the decade, not 2019, as there wasn't any year '0'.

Unless you are talking about an arbitrary decade started in 2009. :)
