Mic,I try to be calm and not spread anything that would be construed as doom porn, but this situation is well worth keeping an eye on, especially when I see statements such as a standard surgical mask will not prevent transmission of the virus...

Are the Chinese lying about the actual numbers of cases and deaths? Probably...

I had a report yesterday that sat photos were showing what looked like piles of bodies being cremated in several locations around Wuhan before the data was restricted

now scientists are being dissapeared.

I saw a vid earlier today purportedly from a chinese billionaire, and the numbers he rolled out were totally mind blowing, 50k dead, 150 million infected, 250 million quarantined...

I sincerely hope that it is bullshit and nothing but doom porn, I really do...

Those numbers are scary because they point to a large infected group, but the mortality rate is only around 50% higher than for common influenza.

But, that only if this is true, which I doubt, for a very simple reason: how could they test more than 150 million people for this specific virus strain?

Looking at all the above, it makes me think that those numbers may show all deaths reported in the last months, regardless of what caused the death.

In the last days it was known the first case of a Portuguese infected with the Corona virus, but not in Portugal, he was part of the crew of the Diamond Princess. He quarantined on the ship but, apparently, he will be brought back to Portugal.

The few suspect cases in Portugal have all tested negative.
