Someone from the U.K was being interviewed from Italy and they said that residents in Italy  (not sure if just in certain areas or the whole country) now have to have certificates to say that they are free from the Corona Virus to pass certain areas that are Road blocks by the Police...even when going to Work..

This is what the decree from the presidency of the minister's council (DPCM) says:
QuoteThe Official Gazette published the dpcm in the night 'I will stay at home which is in force from today to 3 April. The rules are valid throughout Italy:
1) any form of gathering of people in public places or open to the public is prohibited;
2) sporting events and competitions are suspended, except for international ones which may take place behind closed doors;
3) outdoor sports are allowed as long as the distance of one meter between people is respected;
4) the movement of natural persons (not goods) should be avoided except for "proven working needs or situations of necessity or health reasons". Return home is allowed;
5) who has more than 37.5 degrees of fever is "strongly recommended" to stay at home;
6) who is in quarantine must remain at home;
7) facilitate holidays and leave for employees;
8 ) the ski resorts are closed;
9) events are suspended, including cultural, recreational, sporting, religious and fair events;
10) activities in kindergartens, schools, universities are suspended;
11) civil and religious ceremonies are suspended, including funerals;
12) restaurant and bar activities are allowed from 6 to 18, but a meter distance between people must be kept;
13) other commercial activities are permitted as long as the distance of one meter is respected;
14) on festive and pre-holiday days, medium and large sales structures are closed (for example shopping centers and markets);
15) the activities of gyms, sports centers, swimming pools, spas, social and recreational centers are suspended;
16) the exams to the Civil Motorization are suspended.

QuoteThey say Italy is 1 month ahead of the UK and maybe other Euro countries.
What does that mean? 1 month ahead in what? ???

QuoteDonald Trump has maybe done the right thing by stopping flights from the EU..
That only works when the disease has not entered the country, when it has entered the country that will be a small contribution to slow the progress of the disease. Not allowing it to spread from individual to individual is the best tactic.

QuoteI believe that there are about 780 case in the UK and 11 deaths so far.
Apparently, 798 cases and 11 deaths.

QuoteA Major concern for me is today someone told me that they are aiming to create a vaccine..

Depending upon ones views on Vaccines...

Will it be optional or compulsary ???
I'm not against vaccines, I'm only against compulsory things. :)

QuoteSome no doubt suggest its Bill Gates behind it...
The idiots...

On Thursday I went to the closest supermarket to try to buy some frozen broccoli (my favourite vegetable), but there was none. No broccoli, no peas, no Brussel sprouts, all the frozen vegetables were gone. I didn't notice if the fresh vegetables were also gone, but I don't think so, as they are close to the entrance and nothing caught my attention when I entered.

Some hours later the Portuguese government decided to put in practice some measures to try to control the situation:
- Restaurants and similar should reduce their capacity in 1/3;
- Discotheques and similar are closed;
- Supermarkets, shopping centres, gyms, etc. should control the number of people they let in to allow for a one metre empty space between people;
- Schools are closed;
- No visits to nursing homes, hospitals and prisons;
- Easier rules for the health related buying of supplies and staff admission, with suspension of working time limits;
- People that have to stay at home to take care of children that are not at school under 12 years old are compared to people staying at home to take care of a sick child, receiving 66% of their salary (33% from the Social Security and 33% from their employer);
- Forced quarantine is considered equivalent to sick leave, so the people that are forced by the health authorities to be quarantined get their full salary from the Social Security;
- Postponing of the deadlines for several tax payments that are due in the next two or three months;
- Credit lines to help companies that had to close due to this situation;
- Official documents that expire during this period will still be accepted by the state.

As a consequence, the above mentioned supermarket decided to close at 19:00 instead of 21:00 (making it impossible for me to go shopping there, as I'm still at work at that time) and today, when my sister went there, they are limiting access to 30 people at a time inside the store, although they are doing it a way that is not easy to understand, even for the people that work there, as they did not know if they should enter by the same access as the customers or not.

So, today we are at 169 cases (no deaths and one two recovered), with 57 new cases, with lots of confusion, but life goes on (almost) as usual. :)

It sounds like the basic things to do are: wash hands frequently, avoid touching the face (specially the mouth, nose and eyes), avoid touching other people and try to keep a distance of at least one metre from other people.

PS: yesterday, like I do everyday, I went for a walk after getting out from work, and, like I do all Fridays, I went for a longer (6 km) walk around town. I saw that most large restaurants were almost empty (one was closed, with a notice on the window stating that, according to a significant number of employees, they decided to close), while the smaller ones were maybe at half capacity.

Psychologists apparently think it's because people want to tell themselves that they've done something about a situation that they have no real control over.

Another interesting video about the virus from Brad Johnson here, as well.

So much info to sift through.

So if they come along with a vaccine for this covid-19 virus, what percentage of the population will willingly be lined up to get their shot???

I have seen some info suggesting strongly against doing so.....

My mother is a massive intellectual snob, and basically views doctors as a secular priesthood.  As I may have mentioned, I have lost a kidney due to medical malpractice, so my attitude towards them is the opposite...but if any of the local GPs request that my mother be given a Covid 19 shot, then not only will she take it, but it will be very difficult for me to avoid doing so as well.

Also, Bill Gates is a screaming, Napoleonic, eugenicist psychopath who masquerades as a philanthropist.  I was born two years after Microsoft was founded.  I've grown up with DOS and Windows, and I've seen what they tried to do to Linux, as well.  I can say with confidence that Gates is one of the most thoroughly, deliberately evil human beings currently alive today.

The paranoia of some guy on the Internet is no reason to avoid vaccination. :)

The old method of pointing to facts and mixing them with wishful thinking doesn't turn the wishful thinking into reality, it only helps to fool people into believing their wishful thinking.

I saw it from a Microsoft partner point of view, as the company I work received for some time information from Microsoft, including how to convince potential clients that Linux was not for them. It was only a commercial problem that got sidetracked when Microsoft decided to make an official version (there was already a partial, non-official version, Mono) of the .Net framework to work in Linux and, after that, to make SQL Server work in Linux.

To petrus4 point, I don't trust Gates, his and Melinda's Foundation on any level, or any of the Elites and associated Foundations.

This YT link I found interesting and gave me an insight into good ol' Bill's mindset when it comes to his "vision" -  >:( >:(

What's the problem with reducing the rate of the population growth through better health care and living standards?

Hi ArMap,  :)

I do not believe that it is Gates's intention for those of us he sees as useless eaters.  :o

Scroll down to the bottom of this link - I also do not believe in coincidences on this scale.  ::)

How do you know that he sees some of us as useless eaters and, if you know he does, how do you know which ones does he see as useless eaters?

I don't see that as a coincidence. As they say, pandemic diseases are becoming more common than before (which is natural, seeing that the Earth's population is growing and the people's mobility is also increasing, facilitating the spreading of contagious diseases) and they affect commerce, so being prepared is what people should do.

I find it interesting that some people consider a good idea to be prepared for an emergency, but if large companies/organisations/governments do it they consider it suspicious. :)

As much as I know that you love a great debate ArMap, I am going to kindly decline the invitation today my friend, I have some basketball to catch-up on and I am very happy with my comments above yours without feeling the need to justify my comments or beliefs' or research path.  ;D

I am indeed more than happy for anyone to challenge me with anything I post on here bud but I won't be getting into a drawn-out pixel for pixel argument over my reasoning today.  :)

Have a cracking Sunday, catch you soon.  ;)

Cheers!

They are asking all over 70 here in the UK to self isolate.
I will undertake this by self isolating to lakeside or canal embankment with lots of fishing tackle and baits, and beer.

Yes, it's a flu, but a flu that, in the last 24 hours, killed 368 people in Italy.
