It doesn't matter which way round you put it.  It means EXACTLY THE SAME THING!

I'm just going to leave you guys to it I think.  Someone let me know if people start making sense or progress.

Until you understand the aether is, or behaves similar to, a superfluid with properties of a solid it is preferred you stay away.

I can not believe that you actually wrote that!

What well are you drinking from sir? You are not the know all and end all of knowledge here and just a little bit of humility might serve your cause well in the future!

You are STILL a very long way from understanding Aether.... as I see it. Have you read Kosyrev?(corrected my spelling ..... with a Z...thanks Hobbit) Do you even know who he is? Lets talk about " intelligent aether for a little bit"  OK..... and lets see if you can keep up.  ( Gee, I left the e out of Aether too!!! now corrected!  ) Linda

My response was appropriate for a poster stating, "Someone let me know if people start making sense or progress."

I feel like liza Minnelli.
It's with a Z Linda,

I suggest everyone chills a little.
the aether is fabulous, and complicated, there's no need for anyone to push off, as in our current understandings the aether doesn't make sense.
hobbit been pushed and pulled, but never shaken.

It does make sense.

It is ironic that Einstein's most creative work, the general theory of relativity, should boil down to conceptualizing space as a medium when his original premise [in special relativity] was that no such medium existed [..] The word 'ether' has extremely negative connotations in theoretical physics because of its past association with opposition to relativity. This is unfortunate because, stripped of these connotations, it rather nicely captures the way most physicists actually think about the vacuum. . . . Relativity actually says nothing about the existence or nonexistence of matter pervading the universe, only that any such matter must have relativistic symmetry. [..] It turns out that such matter exists. About the time relativity was becoming accepted, studies of radioactivity began showing that the empty vacuum of space had spectroscopic structure similar to that of ordinary quantum solids and fluids. Subsequent studies with large particle accelerators have now led us to understand that space is more like a piece of window glass than ideal Newtonian emptiness. It is filled with 'stuff' that is normally transparent but can be made visible by hitting it sufficiently hard to knock out a part. The modern concept of the vacuum of space, confirmed every day by experiment, is a relativistic ether. But we do not call it this because it is taboo." - Robert B. Laughlin, Nobel Laureate in Physics, endowed chair in physics, Stanford University

Laughlin refers to the aether as matter and 'stuff', meaning aether has mass.

Laughlin refers to the aether as a piece of window glass, meaning the aether is, or behaves similar to, a supersolid.

Aether has mass which means it physically occupies three dimensional space and is displaced by matter.

That's all you need to understand and pretty much every open question facing mainstream physics is answered.

Hobbit and I agree that the word " stuff" has special meaning to us too!   Linda

'stuff' does not mean having mass to hobbit. Does 'stuff' mean having mass to you? Because that's what it means in aether displacement.

Linda Brown

We are such stuff as dreams are made of.

Have you read the rest of what he said? It might surprise you

Prospero:
Our revels now are ended. These our actors,
As I foretold you, were all spirits, and
Are melted into air, into thin air:
And like the baseless fabric of this vision,
The cloud-capp'd tow'rs, the gorgeous palaces,
The solemn temples, the great globe itself,
Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve,
And, like this insubstantial pageant faded,
Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff
As dreams are made on; and our little life
Is rounded with a sleep.

Thats nice to know that it is so simple MPC. I think that Hobbit and I and maybe some others might disagree with you..... but its good to be confident in your views.

Does 'stuff' mean having mass to you? A yes or no answer will suffice.

Because that's what it means in aether displacement.

Just responding in kind.

QuoteSuperfluid vacuum theory (SVT), sometimes dubbed as the theory of BEC vacuum, is an approach in theoretical physics and quantum mechanics where the physical vacuum (fundamental non-removable background) is viewed as superfluid or BEC. The microscopical structure of the physical vacuum is currently largely unknown and is a subject of intensive studies in SVT. An ultimate goal of the approach is to develop scientific models that unify quantum mechanics (describing three of the four known fundamental interactions) with gravity. This makes SVT a candidate for the theory of quantum gravity. It is hoped that development of such theory would unify into a single consistent model all fundamental interactions, and to describe all known interactions in the Universe, at both microscopic and astronomic scales, as different manifestations of the same entity, superfluid vacuum.

And now?
A "Tried, True & Tested Model" would be nice at this juncture of explanation.

The following experiment refutes the notion of a delayed choice and the notion of a quantum eraser.

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/21/Kim_EtAl_Quantum_Eraser.svg

If beam splitter BSb is replaced with D4 the photons traveling the blue path which are detected at D1 and D2 may correspond with the interference patterns being created at D0. If this is the case then the which-way information of the photons will be known and this is evidence nothing is delayed, nothing is erased and de Broglie was correct.

It is evidence de Broglie was correct because it is evidence the particle traveling toward D0 has associated waves traveling both the red and blue paths and that wave interference is occurring prior to the particle being detected at D0 regardless of what else happens in the experiment.

Quantum Eraser. That's odd.

" You are the moment between the chalk and the eraser."

And I rather think that we all are.

Sorry.... I might have jumped subject there but maybe some will see the importance of that comment. To the others.... just ignore.

Mass is that which physically occupies three dimensional space.

Aether has mass.

Aether is physically displaced by matter.

Displaced aether pushing back and exerting inward pressure toward matter is gravity.

A moving particle has an associated aether displacement wave. In a double slit experiment the moving particle travels a well defined path which takes it through one slit while the associated aether wave passes through both.

The above correctly explains most of the open questions facing physics today.

In what is incorrectly referred to as a delayed choice quantum eraser experiment nothing is delayed and nothing is erased.
