Sen. Dean Heller (R-Nev.) on Friday called for a Senate hearing into the dispute between Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy and the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) over cattle grazing.

Heller described as "patriots" the people who came armed to Bundy's ranch after the BLM began to seize his cattle for refusing to pay grazing fees and fines that now total more than $1 million.
Heller debated the ranch standoff on a Nevada television station with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), who has called the armed Bundy supporters "domestic terrorists."

"What senator Reid may call domestic terrorists, I call patriots," Heller said. "We have a very different view on this."

Nevada Senator Heller calls for BLM hearings during appearance with Reid

Sen. Dean Heller, R-Nev., called for Congressional hearings into the BLM's stand-off with cattle rancher Cliven Bundy.

Heller requested the hearings during a joint appearance today with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., on the KSNV-TV News 3 program "What's Your Point?"

Nevada's junior senator noted that he wants to determine "who drove" BLM policy into the tense standoff that ended Saturday.

Heller said that he took issue with the BLM "coming in with a paramilitary army. It made a lot of people very uncomfortable."

"It's obvious," Reid noted, "the federal government can't just walk away from this."

Speaking Thursday, Reid equated Bundy and his supporters to "domestic terrorists."

Charlie Daniels: Harry Reid should be in jail for 'impersonating an American'

On Thursday, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid called supporters of the Bundy ranch "domestic terrorists" and questioned their patriotism. Country music star Charlie Daniels responded the same day with a tweet saying Reid should be in jail for "impersonating an American."

"Harry Reid you should be put in jail for impersonating an American," he tweeted.

"Ouch!" the Twitchy staff wrote. A number of people agreed.

"AMEN Charlie!! I second that motion," one person said.

"Please keep the light shined on this cockroach @SenatorReid & his punk kids too @CharlieDaniels -you've got a powerful torch to do it," another person added.

90,000 Acres of Texas Ranchers' Land About To Be Seized By the BLM

The BLM stole 140 acres of the Tommy Henderson ranch along the Red River thirty years ago.

They took his land and paid him absolutely nothing. He sued and lost.

Now the BLM is using that court case as precedent to do it again. The problem is, the land they want to seize is property that ranchers have a deed for and have paid taxes on for over a hundred years.

The BLM claims that about 90,000 acres (116 miles along the Red River) have never belonged to Texas in the first place. They will seize the land and it will seriously change the boundaries between the two states.

"A confrontation teetered on violence Wednesday when Bundy family members and dozens of supporters angrily confronted a group of rangers holding Tasers and barking dogs on leashes near Bunkerville, about 80 miles northeast of Las Vegas."

"Federal officials say a police dog was kicked and officers were assaulted."

March 27, 2014: The BLM has closed off 322,000 acres of public land, and is preparing to collect Bundy's cattle. Bundy files a notice with the county sheriff department, titled "Range War Emergency Notice and Demand for Protection."

Bundy also says he has a virtual army of supporters from all over the country ready to protect him. He also has Gardner. "I think Cliven is taking a stand not only for family ranchers, but also for every freedom-loving American, for everyone."

Cliff Gardner continues, "Perhaps it's difficult for the average American to understand, but protecting the individual was a underlying factor of our government. ... My support is that I am determined to stand by the Bundy family in any fashion it takes regardless of the threat of life or limb."

Clark County Commissioner Tom Collins also supports Bundy.

"The U.S. government has perpetrated a bigger fraud on people over those tortoises than Al Capone did selling swampland in Miami."

Harry Reid called Cliven Bundy's supporters, domestic terrorists today.

Speaking at a Las Vegas Review-Journal event, Reid was clear:

"They're nothing more than domestic terrorists.
I repeat: what happened there was domestic terrorism."


He also revealed that they are assembling a federal task force to drive Bundy and his cattle off federal land.

It's strange, it looked like the BLM were the terrorists, tasering one of the sons and knocking his mother to the ground and intimidating people with viscous growling dogs and automatic assault weapons, before stripping American citizens of their first amendment rights.

In 1998 the Nevada federal district court issued an order permanently enjoining Bundy from grazing cattle on the allotment. It ordered him to remove all trespass cattle and set a penalty of $200 per day per animal remaining on the federal range.

That would make it somewhat difficult - if not impossible - to feed the Bundy family.





Thankfully, the calvary arrived and called in reinforcements.
