well my kids all ganged up on me and basically told me i should have no opinion and that i should apologize for the opinions i do have.  seems defending yourself is now considered rude.

so i apologize for having opinions, stating them frankly, and defending myself on the subject of jesus. to be honest, no amount of criticism is going to change my mind on that, so the only way for us to converse is to assume that if you have something negative to say about christianity, that i'm probably over here sitting on my fingers so i don't defend myself and as a result, won't be talking to you at all.

now why in the sam hill does it have to come to that?  to be honest, i'm a bit ticked off.

Undo11, Why? Me thinks the answer to that question (if there is one) is very dependent, and variable, upon who is responding, and their individual understandings, and belief systems.

As humans, we absolutely can take ourselves down every thought process, and just accept or reject what our mind is presented. This innate ability is really a great thing, except, unbridled and unguided, it can take us completely away from reality, and into areas of "weird and confused". There are so many "tangents" in what I would term "normal life", keeping straight definitely needs attention, but, when dealing with the fields of "strange", I think we can get derailed even more easily.

Even on a discussion forum like this, everyone is different, with not just a few being "very different". That can be good for us, with each presenting their views on each subject, but, it can become bad for us, if we cannot, or if we refuse, to differentiate between what is "reality", what is "posi-reality", and what is "fairy tale/make believe". What makes this even more difficult is that sometimes "reality" can look/seem pretty weird, while at other times the "fairy tale" can just make us feel good.

So, at times, it can get pretty difficult to stay "straight", especially when there is significant emphasis leading us otherwise - maybe more-so today, than ever before.

Undo11, like you, I have a soft heart too. I have a distaste for killing animals for sport, although I have in the past. But, there is a reason animals and fish are here, and most all of them are in the food chain, of other animals (even the animals know that), and/or of humans. That is simply a part of life on this planet, as it has always existed. Regarding "ants", well, you cry when one dies, and the Ant Eater eats all he can find. And I, because the fire ants here in Texas are everywhere, and leave a sore on me when one stings me, I kill them by the thousands at a time, in their mounds. They can be extremely dangerous for many elements of our lives including people, children  and livestock (of which I have none).

Most people (adults) are intelligent enough to know a "Pied Piper" when we see one. On the other hand, a "wolf in sheep's clothing" can be hard to discern. That is why it is so important for us to "find that solid rock", and for us "to stay grounded with and in it", regardless of what may come our way. Then we don't have to be bothered with some of the really "nitnoy stuff", like whether ants live or die, or whether there are actual aliens or not, or, whether there is "actually gravity" or not.

There are some things that we should just KNOW, and we should stand on those things, while listening to and dealing with things that don't fit that description. Stand firm in your own mind, and just don't be bothered by that other stuff!!!

All IMVHO!  ;)

WRONG

elaborate?

I'm with You, Beth.  It seems intellectually...lazy, at best, to make claims without support and demonstration.  And, I would think, intellectually dishonest, at worst.

Thats what the kids are learning these days, and it's the mantra of the NWO.

Your beliefs in Jesus and his teachings are totally ok, as he WAS a man, and he DID teach the world new ideas about us. Im not a believer he was the son of any god, but that cant stop me from following his teachings.
You are a strong woman, Undo, and your opinions DO matter, so dont stop presenting them, as that's the beginning of the atrophic society they want to create.

Being ticked off is a sure sign of passion, so youve got that on your side, too!

You cant win the game without a good defense.

So many of the things you all say make perfect sense to me and that feels so good - Thanks.

Like a ghost ship tossed upon the sea, with no anchor to keep me still. I've wandered too and fro, with no heading to take me home.  Endless days turns into nights, where nothings wrong and nothings right.  What it means I just don't know, as I drift past endless shores.

In this dream I'm still not free, as I wander endlessly. Surely Heaven only knows where I was meant to be.

But I have felt the rain, the sun shining down on my face, I have felt the pain and I have felt God's Grace.

Like a gentle rain, falls on the window pane, above my head, somehow it all makes sense.

( Woke up hearing music in my head which hasn't happened for quite awhile, so I started writing this down based on what I've experienced lately. It's still an unfinished song, but it gives me hope. )  ;D

Would it be beyond the reasonable to request specifics?  WHERE do You see Him inadvertently doing this?  What statements were made that lead You to believe these things, and how do You figure it all?

Hey Cap'n Dave, great start for a song, and it sounds like a good one for us boaters!
Those experiences come out in some cool ways for us, and lyrics are very artistic!
I wonder if Noah brought along a musician and his wife, as two of every kind, I was a drummer for a while, and we ARE animals, right?!?!?!:D
Pleasant dreams,

Just wanted to give a big thumbs up to all of that!
